Thank you!

Sorry Cat, I was taking my information from the AGSwiki, which doesn't list the last OROW (and links to our old domain, bigbluecup.com too).

Last OROW's rules were exactly like that, no premade content. Why don't you team up with someone who can do art or music?
The last OROW had only three restrictions: (1) use AGS, (2) one room, but can have cutscenes, (3) must be anonymous. No rules about content that I could find.

-Entries must not use any premade content except published AGS templates, modules and plugins.
That's unfortunate; I was hoping we would stick with last year's rule that did allow for public/open content. I'm afraid this will make it hard for me to participate; could we please have the earlier rule back that has no such restriction?

Thanks Bulba, that answers my question.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I really hate that phrase; it basically means "if it could be worse, don't ever try to improve it." Can we please not have that whole discussion about themes all over again?

So I was wondering, looking over the past few OROWs, it seems that in the past entries could have been any genre as long as they use AGS, are to be submitted anonymously, can use pre-made resources and templates, and have a rather flexible definition of "one room".

...Are these rules going to be similar this year?
#627
Depends on the genre. Generally, it'd probably work best as a hardcore challenge mode.

Even twenty years ago, there were plenty of games with both "lives" and a save game mechanic, which basically defies the point of limiting lives.

But I'm drowning in other projects already...

In my view, the most important step is ensuring the games can be played on Mac, Linux, Android. This will magnify the player base and attract more people to AGS. This is the most fundamental of the open issues.

* Support for non-Windows operating systems. Mac and Linux in particular.

This is the biggest deal for me, and the most common request for Heroine's Quest by a long shot.

I can understand people wanting to 'hot switch' screen resolutions, but in practice that's something that annoys a player once, then he sets the setting to what he likes, then he's done with it. But if you want to play an AGS game on Mac and Linux, well you basically can't.

Does anyone have experience so far running AGS games under Windows 10? Does it work? Glitch? Crash? Does it matter which version of the AGS engine the game is build against?
#634
Not particularly interested in upgrading. I'm still using seven and it does everything I need, and based on my experience the newer version of, well, anything requires a more powerful computer.

A very enjoyable game. I love how
