It seems that we've recently gotten a new computer.  Well, I had my old registered version of IRC on that system and I've downloaded it again onto this one now.   But the evaluation period of 30 days has ended. 
Does this mean I have to re-register my copy?  I looked on the IRC website and FAQ place but found no answers. 

Isn't there someplace I can enter my previous registration info to activate my current copy?

For those who don't know who he is (and might I add you're very lucky if you don't), he was some loser guy who went on the talent search show American Idol.Ã,  He was turned down flat and made an idiot out of himself trying to sing Ricky Martin's She Bangs.Ã,  The guy can't even TALK straight and he is trying to be a superstar.Ã, 

One of the judges told him "You can't sing, you can't dance, so what do you have to say?" And then old Willy Hung goes through this speech about how he tried his best and that's what really counted and so on and now he has become famous and adored.Ã,  If I'm not mistaken he has even released a few CDs.Ã,  Shame.Ã,  Ã,

I've been looking around for a new music keyboard.  I love the one I have, but I want to expand my options.  I've found a nice Yamaha keyboard on Amazon.com that I'm thinking of buying.

But before I do anything I want to know if anybody here has some good recommendations.  I'm looking for very realistic instrument sounds and lots of features within a reasonable price range.  I'd prefer a minimum of 61 keys.

Is there a way to display regular text messages while not pausing the game?  There are some instances where I'd like to run background animations WHILE the messages are on the screen.

We've all been tortured by it at one time or another...  You're watching your favorite show and then it happens.  That commercial.  The one you shiver at.  The one that makes your stomach turn over and a cold chill race over your body.  It's... It's... IT'S... YOUR MOST HATED COMMERCIAL!

So what TV commercials make you want to rush out and slap the people behind them?? Of course, most all commercials are disposable, but which ones REALLY make you squirm?

One commerical I really hate is 1-800 PetMeds!  Where they have some stupid woman trying to load her stupid dog into her stupid car to take it to the stupid vet.  And then this other stupid woman just picks up her stupid phone and dials 1-800 stupid PetMeds and everything is all happy!

Or those Country Crock butter commercials!

What with the age and proportion threads, I thought it'd be funny to have a thread where you can relate to us some of the stupidest things you've ever said or done!  This can apply to stupid things you've said or done around friends or family or even on the forums here.

Here is mine:

Okay, well I was at this themepark about a year or so ago.  Well, I was on water ride where you get into this boat thing (not an intertube) and plastic doors the close in on the sides.  The ride had finished and was floating into the station dock.  It stopped and everybody opened their doors, except me.  I couldn't figure it out! I had gone on it before but couldn't get it open, which makes me think it was stuck.

Anyway,  I was at the very front and lots of people were waiting to get on the ride.  Meanwhile a couple ride attendants were crankily "instructing"  me about how to get it open.  One of them spoke through a loud speaker in the station used to make announcments and stuff.  Well, I decided the best thing to do was just to jump out over it and either undo it from the other side or let the next rider deal with it.  

Well, I hopped out over the door and the two ride attendants got all ticked off and yelled at me for it and scolded me like a puppy dog saying "no!"  And this happened infront of a bunch of riders waiting to get on.   I look back on it now and it isn't as bad as it could've been, but it's always good for a stupid laugh.  I just turned around and walked away.

It's amazing what can just pop into your head out of the blue.  Well, the question "is it okay for guys to cry" popped into mine today.  Personally, I feel there is really nothing shameful about crying.  I'm not really afraid to cry.  Of course only under certain circumstances.

(Yes, I'm VERY bored!)

The other night I was browsing the internet.  I was looking around on this humor site.  
When I left, I was bombarded with an army of popup ads telling me about their spyware remover software and how my computer could be infected.

Well, I natural started closing them.  Then my CD-ROM drive pops open and they bring this message up saying the spyware could be controlling my computer. Like I'm some kind of moron.  And I start thinking "Hey if I had been playing music in there or something that would've really ticked me off."

So I close the disc drive and close the popups.  Well I'm presented with a screen that has no task bar.  The only way out is to click their link.  So, I hit ctrl alt delete and kick it's butt off my screen.  Twice.  

Now today, I find out that it made that stinking spyware add my HOMEPAGE!!!! IT CHANGED MY HOMEPAGE!!!! So now I'm really ticked off, hence this thread.  I SAY WE BOMBARD THEM ALL WITH E-MAILS PIMPING OUR GAMES!!!!!!11!!!11    

Thanks for allowing me to rant here.

I've done lots of experimenting with AGS and creating none adventure games.  But I've never attempted to make an AGS Mini Golf game.  Obviously, it would be a massive project.

Mini Golf is about my favorite outdoor game and I'd love to make an AGS version of it.   My question for you is, what do you think would be the easiest, most efficient approach to it?  

There would have to be a way to code all the speed, physics and stroking systems etc...  What do you think?

Man, I had the weirdest dream.  I dreamed that Squinky had done something that was just really terrible here.

I don't know what it was, but we had this live meeting of AGSers in this room to decide what should be done with him.  Las Naranjas was there, and so were some others.  And Squinky looked like Trapezoid.

We finally reached a verdict and he was banned or something.  

Uh...  I don't even know why I'm telling you all this.  I'm really bored.

This may have been discussed earlier, but here it is:

What makes a character people can fall in love with?  Think about what it would be like to become "attatched" to the characters in a game and then finish it with a lump in the throat.  Similar to the way you feel at the end of a fantastic movie.  

So what do you think should go into the making of a game to make its characters deep and heartfelt?  

How can I change the default coordinants of message windows?

I'd like them to popup at the bottom of the screen without having specifiaclly code each one to do so.

I didn't really know if this should be in the competitions forum or here or wherever.

I've been looking around for some music editing software (mainly for MP3s and WAV files.)

I just was wondering if anybody here could recommend some good editor tools.  I really need something that can add realistic echoes and acoustics to sound files, not like the cheesy echoes that the standard Windows sound recorded makes.

Any suggestions as to where to look?

A rather strange subject line, I know so let me explain.

I have a pretty good ear for music, I've never taken any piano lessons or anything but I can play and compose pretty good because I've taught myself to.  But it's like this is the only creative thing I can do really well.

I love to write movie scripts (for my own amusment) but I just can't seem to give. And I definatly can't write adventure games as I've demostrated alot LOL!  But I want to write these things it's just that I can't!!  I get alot of creative ideas but I can't get into it.  It's a frustrating situation.  Basically it's writers block.

Do you think I should just take advantage of my musical creativity and forget about the other stuff or should I try to excercise in these fields as well?

Or do you think that it's just that I've over worked myself and I need a break??   I really wanna do some other things, but I'm finding it quite difficult.  

Just looking for another person's perspective seeing as I've struggled quite awhile with this.
