My few posts in this thread were very joking, but all mirth aside, I'd like to play a game where I couldn't tell whether it was made by a either a male OR a female.  Something with a deep story that
appeals to humanity in general, not select groups.

Couldn't that be done with enough work, time, and thought?

The problem with blogs is that way too many people have one, and way too few are anything more than self-absorbed pretentious comedian-wannabe/emo ramblings.

That's kinda the way I felt about it.  I'm still trying to get interested in it, but I may just delete mine if I don't find a practical use for it.

...And Raggit, if your reading, God wants you to beleive in Him without seeing (read Hebrews 11:1).

Why?

DG, for somebody who thinks this is really unneccesary, you have the two longest posts on this page alone.

the main problem with mystical and unexplained things are that people think "But I saw it with my own eyes!" and think that their eyes are infallible.

According to your eyes David Copperfield cuts a woman in half. But we know that he really didn't but it LOOKS just like it! "Are you telling me that I'm lying when I say he cut a woman in half?" obviously not. Your eyes and brain decieved you. You can very easily fool your eyes with simple optical illusions.

Precisely!  I remember learning this lesson early in life, while watching movies with my mother commenting, "That's not REAL blood!"

I'm utterly lost in the search for things beyond ourselves, such as gods, supernaturals forces, etc.

Personally, I often wonder that, if there were anything out there, why can't we all find it and agree on it?  What's with so many different religions and beliefs?

Have you ever asked for a supernatural force to show itself to you?  I did, once.  I was pretty down and confused, and while walking outside one night, I was like, "Whatever is out there, please show yourself."  Nothing happened.

Maybe I did it wrong?

Have any of you ever encountered a supernatural force that you KNEW was indeed supernatural?  How did you contact it?  Or did it contact you?

Do you?  DO YOU?!

I'm fashionably late on the blogging scene, and because I'm always full of political opinions, I thought, "Hey, why not tell the internet?"  (And I DIDN'T come to these forums?!)

Anyway, post your blog here, if you have one.  As soon as I get mine rolling, I'll post it, too.

Oh boy!Ã,  Something else for me to worry about!!Ã,  And I don't even eat spinach...

Interestingly enough, the day before I heard about this, my doctor told me to make sure I eat lots of leafy, dark greens, like spinach.

I don't concur that male anatomy = ugly, and female anatomy = beauty.

I tend to think that BOTH male and female bodies are amazing and beautiful in their own ways, and obviously, work together in even more amazing ways.

As far as the multiple girls kissing thing goes, I, being male, don't find that to be any more erotic than any other particular act or situation.

So don't put all guys in the unintelligent-kinky-perverted-sex-seeking-animal category.

Yeah, I just installed the high-res pack, with the 3D models, and it is AWESOME!   :o

It's way more satisfying to blow the sh*t out of a 3D model than a fuzzy, 2d sprite.

Flukezy:  Yeah, it caught a lot of heat from feminist organizations because of the way it depicted women, not only in the adult bookstores, but in the other levels where aliens had captured them.  But there's no real nudity, that I ever encountered.

I downloaded the shareware version of Duke3d, and got hooked instantly.  I played through it in a couple days, and then bought the full version, new in box, off eBay.

If you buy the full version of Duke3d, it also includes the original two Duke Nukems on the disc.

Anybody ever played Duke Nukem: The Manhattan Project?   I have the demo, and can't decide whether or not I wanna buy it.

Anybody remember Duke Nukem?  Those games were awesome.  I remember playing the shareware versions of the first and second one many, many years ago.

I recently got back into the game, and now own the full versions of Duke 1, 2, and Duke3D, which by the way, is a spectacular FPS, for its time.

Duke's over-the-top, egocentric character is totally hilarious, and makes the games fun to play, even in the most frustrating parts.

The cool thing is, you can actually buy a lot of these old games from 3DRealms.  Nice to see some companies haven't forgotten their classics.

Just wanted to see if anybody else ever played these games, and if they still do.  Hope this thread doesn't get locked by our lockaholic moderators.

Nothing, my friend, is too off-key for the AGS forums.

Firstly, I'd like to apologize for being very harsh, and at times, unattentive to what people had to say. I'd like to ask you all's forgiveness for acting in that fashion.

Secondly, I'd like to address a few of your issues in the best way that I know how...and that is, by asking a series of questions.

You stated earlier that at some point in the convo with your friends, you told your friends that it was great that they had a religion and all, but that they shouldn't use their religion to influence this country and its politics and laws. My question is, how would you personally go about running this country? What kind of people would you put in power over the country? What kind of laws would you set up? What would be allowed and what wouldn't be allowed?

2. Secondly, I ask you to remember what all happened in Vermont--with child molestors getting light sentences for committing different, abusive, and strange acts against children.

How would you personally go about getting these molestors under control?

3. I reiterate: How would you personally go about running a country and controlling the criminals in it? Who would you put in power over the country? What would you allow and what wouldn't you allow?

:)

Wow, I haven't seen this for awhile.  Seems that this is one of those topics that NEVER die.  Hasn't for the last several thousand years, anyway.

Before I answer your questions, I should point out that from the time I made this thread, up to now, I've taken a slightly less harsh view of Christianity.  Well, God anyway.  I'm perhaps a little more open to ideas, at least at this time.

Anyway, running this country is about compromise.  Everybody has to give and take.  We need politicians that can see both sides of every issue (like that'll ever happen) and who can do what's best for the general public, while still respecting everybody's rights.  That includes the tiniest minorities.

To control crime, we have to continue to understand what it is and why it happens.  Even then, there's not always a clear, black and white answer where we can say, "If we do THIS, then all crime will stop."  Crime will never end.  The best way, in my opinion, to control crime is to impose harsher punishments.  But then again, not every punishment will work for every criminal, sitting in jail may be torture for one, but a piece of cake for another.

I can't list everything I would if I were running the country, but I'd make sure that Democracy was served to the best of my ability, according to how the Constitution says it should be.

Hope I answered your questions.   ;)

I've noticed a very sad distinction as well. Whenever I talk to people up to and including the age of 17 I find them to be very dull, mindless, MTV watching people who yell a lot.

I'm seventeen, play more classic point 'n click adventure games than I do modern games, can't stand MTV, and hate people who yell.  So we're not all that way.   ;)
