On the serious side, I agree.  It seems like people just kinda sit around waiting to pounce on the next thread that comes along.  
There are times when I'll write a new thread, get ready to hit the post button but then stop and erase everything I wrote because I figure that it'll just get chewed up.

It seems like they're really spinning.  Except for when you look at one directly.  

It can be tricky to get old games to work on newer platforms and stuff, but it can be done.  I had similar problems but got KQ6 to work. I assume you've been trying to run the Windows version.  There is also a DOS version on the game's CD.

When you install the game to your hard drive it should also install a DOS version. The DOS version will still use speech but it will run full screen etc.

To run the DOS version just open My Computer, click your hard disk and find the Sierra folder and open the KQ6 folder.  From there you should be able to run the DOS version.

It worked for me, and hopefully it will work for you!!  

BTW, VDMS can sometimes crash the game in important parts so you might avoid using it!

Well I feel like a totall moron.  I disrupted a normal thread with a retarded post that should've never been posted.  

I won't mess this thread up anymore than I already have, but I'd just like to let everybody know I'm sorry about this.  I'm not going to leave for good, just going to take a break.

That argument is over.  This isn't about that fight, but it is more about the fact that several inccidents like that have occured in the past, alot of wich I started.  I feel it's time to take off.   Maybe just for awhile.  After I originally posted this I found it hard to accept the fact that I might not return here.  The truth is I find it hard to stay away!

I'm going to edit the original post and make it a taking a break thread.  I don't know what has gotten in to me.  Whatever it is, it has helped me vent some steam.  I must face the facts! I love this place too much to turn away from it forever!

However, I'll still be taking a little breather from the community, just to rest etc...  I'll be back soon.  

Alot has occured over the past several hours, including an argument, a farewell thread and a notification of only temporary farewell.  

But this cannot all go by without explaination.  Also I feel the need to make a MAJOR appology.

First off I'd like to say that I'm sorry for causing an uproar in the Gay Adventure thread. All you guys involved in that fight, I'm sorry for acting like a total fool.  I just... Man. I'm ashamed.

Second, I'd like to revise this post to a lesser extreme.  I'm going away for a short time. I'll pop in now and then just to see what's going on, but I'm just gonna take a bit of a rest.  As in several days to a week or so.  

Third, I'd like to apologize for any confusion this akward (retarded) series of events has caused.  

I was serious about the original Farewell Friends thread until I relised how much I really do enjoy it here and even though I have a fare share of disagreements there is no reason to ditch this place. I actually felt depressed after announcing my now cancelled final leave.

I know the solution is not to runaway but to take a small break from any heavy debates and to sheath my toung!  

I'm so sorry about this. I've been a total idiot about everything. I am really sorry.  I never wanna leave this place.

If any of you wish to chew me out or cyber slap me, please do so in this thread!

Okay, that's the end of it.  I accept my defeat and hand you the victory.  I started an ill fated debate and caused more trouble than it was worth.  Evidently you're right and I'm wrong.  I definatly asked for what I got with the way I worded it.  But I don't think any other words would've prevented what happened.  

I've gradually started to feel out of place in this community, like I'm causing friction. I'm a very strong willed person and I know there are a lot other strong willed people here. But I never see them disagreeing with eachother.

I've had thoughts of leaving before and I'm having them now.  I don't know if they're coming out of my frustration or if they're coming becuase it's time for me to move on.  I don't know.  

Though I'd really miss all of you strong willed people if I did leave!!

But I came here becuase I wanted to make a game.  Over the past couple years that desire faded somewhat as I relised that to do what I wanted to do would take an entire team of people as well as a different engine.  Since I rarely involve myself in the actual creation of games (except for doing their music) things have probably grown more tense as I involved myself in more of the debates etc...

Leaving would mean my only involvment with this place would be doing the music for the people that hired me to do so.

What would you do in this situation?  And please, this is not a plead for attention or sympathy.

Sorry if I hurt you guys.  I dunno what got into me.  I just posted one stupid post and becuase of all the arguing I just kept replying and stuff.  Just kinda blindly wandering, not really considering what I was saying.

Actually, for that matter saying ANYTHING that the rest of the crowd doesn't agree with leads to a fight.  It's like talking to a sound activated bomb.  

All I said was I'm sick of hearing about gays. Who, BTW, are actually only 6 % of the population, but
becuase of shows like QEFTSG (what an abbreaviation!) they are "advertised" and are shoved up in our faces.  It's such an annoyance.

I'd imagine it's fake.  Especially if there was no government "signature" or information. Even if it was real, they can't just take you away and put you in jail for clicking that link, it just wouldn't be right.  

They'd have to investigate you and you didn't do anything wrong so what can they do?

I didn't have much of a hand in the earlier thread, I just had one or maybe two posts, but I'd still like to offer my apologies for anything I've done recently to offend you.  

Andail, I don't feel this thread is really needed.  I mean, who has he really offended?  All of us offend each other now and then, but who cares?

In fact, by posting this you kinda made me mad.  Maybe I should go start a "Andail, grow up or stop posting!!!1!" thread.  But there isn't a need to becuase it is more trouble than it's worth.  I'm not trying to stir this brewing fight anymore than it needs, but I think you're just causing more problems and making things harder than they need to be.

If I was you, I would have PMed Mandarb first, as this might actually be more of a personal conflict. Especially since he really hasn't stirred the pot.   And also, what you said about criticism and him, I think it is a good thing to ignore personal criticism insted of flying into a rage about it.

So please try and loosen up.  It might also be a good idea if you were to explain WHY you think he has offended such a large number of people.

Once in blind rage I beaten a guy 4/3 my size and twice my strenght to pulp. That's why I took anger management, BTW. Scary shit.

I don't know what he did to you, but enless he was assualting you, it didn't deserve a physical approach.

I'm not a physcologist but I think after awhile if left uncontrolled the thirst for instant justification and revenge as well as the the release of anger can become un quenchable and uncontrollable. One day you might be pushing somebody around who makes you mad, the next day you might beat them up, and after that you'll might even assualt them with a blunt object, or even kill them.

It's scary to think about.  I know, becuase I have anger problems sometimes.  I've never beaten anybody up, but there have been times I really wanted to! I suggest you do what punch said.  Go play a computer or video game.  Believe it or not, I find SimCity 4 to be quite a good release for anger! I just load up a city and release countless disasters on it! It really makes you feel satisfied! And the nice thing is, you can restore it! In real life you cannot restore somebody you destroyed.

Also, music can be relaxing.

You'll never get anybody to do music for you if you don't be polite and stay in contact.

Also, you can't just ask for music. Once you get a person to do the music, you've got to help them out by giving descriptions of what music you need.  

And like m0ds said, you don't have to stop a game just becuase there is no music.  

So why don't you go find another composer on the boards here and see if they'll help you out.  I'd do the music but I'm all tied up with other projects. Besides you probably want MIDIs, not MP3s.  

I think you'll find it works easier that way!
