General Discussion / Re: What about Darfur?

QuoteThe UN has never been able to control such a situation. Understandable in the world of politics, but makes their magalomania utterly unjustified.

Alright, you know in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones where the princess whats-her-face goes to the world council and give a vote of no confidance? I have the same feeling twards the U.N. I think its sad and incompetent. Somthing needs to change. The US should NOT be the World Police, stepping in to overstep the UN and act as it sees fit. The UN needs to have the reasources and military to deal with these problems, as well as a leader to keep countries accountable for their actions. When America went to war with direct disapproval of the UN (regardless if the choice was right or wrong) there were virtually no repercussions, even when it was proven the war was waged over lies and false pretenses (WoMD?). The UN basically just walked away with its tail between its legs and let the US do whatever it wanted. I see somthing wrong in that...

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of Saddam or anything and I don't think that Iraq should have been left alone. He commited pleanty of war crimes and massacares against his own people and is a dictator asshole without even considering the possibility of his administration owning WoMD. He deserves to be imprisioned for life or much much worse. But you know what? HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAPTURED A LONG TIME AGO! Why did we hunt him down now? Because Mr.Bush wants us to think he sent planes to crash into the WTC and Pentagon. The fact is that there are pleanty of "evil-doers" just as bad or worse than Saddam who are flying under the radar.

Thats how the world is.

QuoteI couldn't  find a red bird that splat44 mentioned earlier, nor do I have a clue as what to do with it.

Maybe he meant the red crystal or the red rose. Either way, I can't seem to find the "right' crystal in the cave or any way of extracting it. I also can't find the flute that is mentioned. I have already beated medusa (that was the easy part) but is this flute hidden somplace impossible to find like the mirror was? (discovered the mirror just my luck)

My name is Richard...and I'm...a moderator... :P

*claps hands with others in the group* Bravo, Rich. I know that took a lot of courage to say that. You now, the first step to getting better is recognizing that you have a problem...

Alright, so it was a while ago back in Middleschool and they had this contest for the cover of our School Yearbook (a flimsey thin cardboard paphlette which, dependin on wheither it has a million signatures on it or not, determines if your cool......or not.) Anyway, so I thought that I would take the highroad with my cover and draw somthing to idolize the high academics of our school.  So I took a peice of paper and drew a scroll type thing on it with a "quill" type pen on it writing the words "The Pen is Mighter than the Sword". My flaw, is the way I organized the words. I sent it in and later recieved word from a few students in the yearkbook commity that I almost caused their teacher to faint. I said, "What? What are you talking about?!?" Aparrently, I hadn't noticed that I put the words "pen" and "is" a little too close together. ....needless to say, they didn't use my entree. Instead it was a cover a girl did with a bunch of stupid smilie faces on it. Go figure. Anyway, got me thinking. Maybe the penis IS mighter than the sword. Sure, words are powerful and stuff, but I'd choose sex over a book any day.

What confuses me isn't the need for people to want to individualize themselves with tattoos, dying hair, and peircings. What I find hard to understand is how anyone could be comfortable with just walking into one of these places and have some strange guy manhandle you for what...an hour, maybe longer? while he painfully sticks needles and metal parts into your dick, scrotum, etc. So...er...maybe I'll just make myself different from everyone else in less painful and perminent ways. Now, I'm not saying that I look down on people who perfer the other method. Get a tat of your girlfriend's name, dye your hair a new neon color every 2 weeks, get a metal rod...wherever. But you might and probobly will regret it later. I roll my eyes about the stupid things I used to do a few years ago, and I'm glad I've matured a little bit more. But I'm not bound to all silly events in my past, I can just shrug them off. I once was into wicca/paganism. I'm glad I didn't get a tattoo about it, because I don't believe in that religion anymore. I know a guy with a tat, and now he wants lazer surgery to remove it. I knew a guy who dyed his hair all funky all the time, and now hes loosing his hair. A good friend of mine had a bolt through the sag of skin right above where her adam's apple would be (I don't think girls have them). Now she has a scar there. If you really want to risk the damage that comes with modifying your body, just make your mentally prepared for the concequences before you take the plunge.

Lol, alright then. I was so ready to get out there and sing BBS (lie), but I shall resist (heh) and let you do it instead, Flippy. I'm willing to make that sacrifice, even though it pains me (not).

lmfao, listening to some of these almost brought me to tears. hehehe. Anyway, I don't know how the safety dance goes...I mean, yeah. I saw the words, but I'd at least like to know how the melody goes. So....hrmm..boy band? *shiver* anyone remember Hanson?

QuoteNext:  Kinda different.
Make a MIDI of a popular song,

er....yeah, i think that is somthing for a different/new compitition. I like the idea of just keeping with having to sing it. I know that I personally don't have a program or any skills to compose a midi song.

Oye vey, I watch too much Simpsons. :P I even remember a lot of the songs from the special musical episoid they put out to look back at all the songs they did. If anyone needs ideas;

1 "Who needs the Quick-E-Mart" -Apu
2 "Springfield, Springfield!" ("Newyork, Newyork") -Bart
3. "See my vest!" ("Be out Guest") -Mr.Burns
4. "We put the SPRING in Springfield" -Women at the local whorehouse
5. "Oh I wish I were an Oscar Myer Wiener"- Homer
6. "Hey big spender" -Homer
7. "My Balgonie (sic?) has a first name, its H O M E R....." -Homer

and countless others....  ;D

Gosh, she sure is pale, isn't she?
#32
yup.......did you have a point?  ;D

Hey, so. I went through my room and I dug out my old mic headset. It still works, but the headphones part doesn't work so I can't hear how I'm singing.....er....which might actually be a good thing. Uh, anyway. But I'm not singing no Michael Jackson song, so I'll just wait for the next one.
#34
Omg, I'm going to be traumatized for life...er.......wait a second!! I know that voice...hmm....isn't that Dr.Doom or whatever his name is from the voice on whatever that word program on Mac is called? I remember playing around with that back in highschool. You can make him read whatever words you type, right?

[Edit: PS, you forgot to choose the next song for someone else to sing]
#35
Comon blackthorn, you KNOW you've been waiting for your chance to sing this your whole life. Nows your big break!  ;D
#36
Oh, sorry. Misread the directions. :P Anyway. The song I'm suggesting is "I Feel Pretty", the song Maria sings in the movie/play West Side Story. (Yes, I am evil for submiting this). Change any other lyrics in the song, but the only condition is you need to leave in the word "Gay" in the verse.

Oh, i was just waiting for more people to send in their songs for the current round....think one version is all we're gonna get?

So Lost...when IS it time to worry? When you comp is on fire? :P
