I remember playing that one....AGES ago. Horrible graphics, laughable storyline, stupid name. I think thats where Vinney is talking to the the gay snake who is the brother of the snake he is looking for.....for some reason. Vinney's Quest, I think its called...or ...er..Vinney's Quest 2?

Well, you probobly could and have it plug into a port of the back of your comp.....I can on mine anyway, but there is no reason I would want to.

Las Naranjas, the incredibly poor quality of your painting skills aside, that is a very disturbing drawing.  :P May I ask, who are the two people in the picture?

Thanks Scummbuddy, however I still think we should celebrate anniversarys some way.

Like...how? With balloons and confettii falling from the ceiling and a blareing of trumpets? And then two supermodels wearing swimsuits walk out carrying a big anniversary cake while clowns ride around on tiney bicycles and tossding our candy?

QuoteI didn't come back for 2 hours... alot of people were freaking... it was funny...

Its sort of interesting that those who have actually been the crossfires of war are the first to make light of it. I'm sitting here reading about am not amused at all, but I remember the exchange student we had from Isreal. She spoke of the battle back at home with such a trivial manner, as if she knew no other life but that in eternal warfare. I guess when you are exposed to it over and over again, you just have to get used to it and shrug it off because there is nothing you can really do about it. But  to someone like me who isn't desensitised (spelling?) its hard to imagin.

And another note, you commented how bright your screen was? You DO relize that if you hold the Fn key down and hit down arrow a few times it dims the screen, right?

I also have have a laptop and also had a problem because I used this  program that needed a key I didn't have on my comp. (or so I thought) I didn't know what a Fn key was or why I had it. But then I found out I had to press the key with another key to get the blue character on that button. I guess mistaking it for shift can be annoying. I've never had that problem, but sometimes (all the time) when I try and hit the \ key, I hit Enter instead. :S But I've gotten over it, and now I have problems when I used normal keyboard! :P Anyway, there are programs out there for this problem, normally used by disabled people who have problems with typing. However, I suggest you don't mess with it and I can't belive it would become such a problem that you would monkey around with your key configuration.

God damn you! Damn you to hell!  :P I made it to the first level you fight the giants, and I die everytime!! I just got the mana pool but I don't really know how to use it. I also have no idea how carpenters work. My archers keep getting cut back to 14 at the begining of the next level. Odd. And I just found out how suicide bombers work. :P Anyone have some helpful tips against giants? *goes back to the game for more addictive goodness.*

QuoteRave, just becuase Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford (or whatver the real reporters were called) probably were thinking "PULLITZER!" when they stumbled across Watergate, doesn't mean that their work was any less good.

Also, how can yousay that you don't care for his work when you have never seen any of it? Next you'll be telling us that you didn't see The Passion becuase of  the Anti-Semitism in it.

What I mean is that I don't care to see his work, not that I am making a judgment on the quality without seeing it. Sorry if thats the way it came out. But I don't see a lot of movies and I have a habit of only seeing the movies I actually have an intrest in seeing. Im not going to go to a movie which someone told me wasn't that good, and I don't really care for the content which I heard about in reviews just to validate that those opinions are true.

Anyway, I hope that clears things up. And no, the reason I didn't see Passion of the Christ is because I can bearly stand to make it through 15 min of 700 Club, I don't think I could stand to sit through a whole movie in an ancient language about a faith I don't wish to be preached to about.

Well, I think that sums it up pretty much in once neat little package. I think everyon has pretty much have a vote and made their case on where the stand on Disney and Amine. I think arguments have been established on both sides but now people are starting to repeat whats already been said...and I think thats a sign that we should move on. I vote for a motion of "Lets drop it now" and continue with the topic of the thread. If people disagree, I suggest that we at least edit the title of the thread to "Bitching about Anime and Disney" as to not confuse people just joining in.

QuoteAs trite as that sounds, I thought I was really a part of something special. We were bringing something nostolgiac back to life. And we did it well. And we had fun. I felt I was a part of that had meaning in my life. And we all liked each other's games. Loved playing them. I think we all took pride in that. I think that as a community, like we were in the olden days, we created something strong, like a family. Sometimes we disagreed on some things (leading to arguments), but in the end we were all together. And I liked that. It doesn't feel the same anymore, partially cause the community has grown a bit distant, like the disappearence of Phil Reed.

YOU BASTARDS. :P You mean its all ended just when I get here? What the hell. Thats seriously not fun. Where is my nostolgia? *grumble* *grumble*

Sorry you feel that way, DGMac. I guess I don't really have anything comforting to say, positive inspiration doesn't come easily to me. I find myself looking for a community to "make somthing special" with as well, usually online because I'm not really that much of a social guy offline. Sort of a pathedic social life, huh?

About a year ago I found a group shared online drawing community where you could create art with people in real-time. I still go there alot, but recently there have been some problems with me and the admins/hosts there and it feels like things are falling apart as well. It used to feel like a secret well of inspiration and creativity, and I still have a lot of friends there, but all of a sudden this admin as it out to bann me, just waiting for me to "slip up". To think that we were friends once...but anyway. I'm boggled by why I am writing this, but more so by why the heck your reading it so I guess I'll just stop while I'm ahead. But I'll leave you with one last thought to consider.

AGS has always held an "Underground" persona (weither true or not in reality) but is it starting to feel like we are digging up too close to the surface? Is this really going to be the end of an era?

You know that you've been on the computer too long when your eyes start to mix up the words. As I was reading it took me 2 min to realize its the FOG of war, not the FROG of war, which makes much more sense. Obviously that points out that I havn't seen the movie, nor bowling fo columbine. My mom saw it though, said it was good. I don't really care for his work, I've heard a lot of things from people about his movies and I suppose convinced me not to waste the money to go see them. I might go to Fahrenheit 9/11 if it is released, out of pure curiosity. But in the back of my head, I can't help wondering if he is just doing this for attention. I know that he justifies his work with some sort of passionate crusade for the truth, but I think he subconciously gets some kind of sick pleasure from conjouring up so much contraversy. Anyone else get this vibe too, or is it just me? (sorry for spelling)

3x4? That seems very very small, but I don't think I need a 9x12 on either (considering the price) I have a friend who said he has an old 6x8 and that does him alright, so I might go with that. Graphire 3, unless I can find somthing better. I'll probobly need somthing that uses seriel, because I blew out my mouse port and now use a USB lazermouse.

QuoteOn the topic of alcohol... that shit is destroying my life.  I find myself going to the bar at least once a night.  I sit there and drink myself stupid, so that I can forget about all the things that make me depressed......I went to my first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting last night.  It really was an eye-opener.  I learned things about alcoholism that I never knew before.  It really is a disease... an actual physical disease.

You know, depression is an actual pysical disease too..
I think AA meetings are good, I mean. Support group wise, but I don't agree with how the incorperate religion (The first step, mind you) into recoverery. Pressing your faith onto someone who has hit rock bottom  seems just wrong to me. (btw, I'm Agnostic)

QuoteDrugs is a pretty general term in english, but in that context I guess I was referring to the non-drinkable, illegal drugs.

*nods in agreement as he stirs in some dope to make "special" leomonade*

QuoteI remember drawing simple things like happy faces and my dad would print it out and hang it on the fridge, haha.

Heh, thats cute. I remember drawing big elaborate drawings which used every color on the pallet, and then I would print them out. They would come out just SOGGY with ink and then I would wait for 5 min, blowing on it until it dried and ran upstairs to put it on the fridge. (and about every drawing I did took a major hit from the ink cartrage.) And then my dad would try and print a document and yell, "Where the $*#@ did all the ink go!!!". So then I just saved my work on the comp from then on.

DON, your pic creaps me out. :S Whenever I see that movie I can't help but think of "NeverLand Ranch" (a pastey guy with extravagant clothes inviting little kids into his fantasty world....). :P I don't trust anyone called "Willy" and that guy just looks like a pedophile...I mean comon! Look at that way he is stareing like that. I can't imagin the twisted thoughts he might be thinking. *hides in the corner in the fetal position and hyperventlated*
