I'm using this one myself.

Haha, people tend to forget the "activities" part of "competitions and activities". (Besides the MS Paint Game, what isn't a competition? There's Helm's fill-in-the-comic every once in a while, and the occasional Artitude or whatever it's called, and . . .?)
#23
Ah yes, that's an eventuality I myself consider quite often...

I haven't read anything by Stephen King except On Writing. Yes, it is great.

I write on a laptop... sitting next to my desktop. I have no idea why, but it helps me focus. Sometimes I take it to a park or something, which I like but I can't usually see the screen well enough to make it worthwhile.

QuoteI like more than just shooting things all the time in games. (Hello Halo!) I hope it has a proper storyline in there where you discover more secrets and the truth etc.

Do you know anything about this game at all? :'(

There is a difference, nick.keane. Traditionally prerelease is at the very least divided between alpha and beta, with occasionally further iterations as well. (Though I think Halo 3 went a little far with an epsilon stage...)

I write.

I'm about fifty pages (at 250 words/page, anyway) into the first draft of a novel at the moment. It's kind of shitty, though (but first drafts always are, I suppose). I just keep writing and hope that at the end there's something salvageable.

QuoteThe game looks awesome. I think the multiplayer plans are stupid though.

First of all, Bioshock doesn't have multiplayer...?

QuoteI think if a game has such in awesome and interesting story, why drown it out with multiplayer? Halo did that, and no one appreciates the story. That's kind of a bad example, as the Halo 2 story wasn't any good.

Arbiter > Master Chief.

QuoteAlso ildu, can't you just set your computer clock to August 21 and play?

Please read his post again... especially the part about unlocking through the Internet.

QuoteI played some of the Bioshock demo, looks like I'll buy it, but it just seems like a well polished FPS with cool powers in it to me, nothing revolutionary. :P

Die.

(Yes, I'm joking...

Maybe.)

Ildu: haha, you realize the Romero one is actually Romero's site?

QuoteI really want to try the demo for this, but I don't have an Xbox 360. Any word when/if a PC demo is coming out?

Friday aka tomorrow. :)

Originally I was just excited for a spiritual sequel to SS, but lots of articles from well-respected people who have played it suggest that it's a hell of a lot more than that. I'm kind of giddy for it at this point.

No 360, so no demo yet (tomorrow), but I've been waiting for the game since the first announcement (back when it was set in an underground Nazi bunker), and for once it seems to be a game that lives up to its hype. The Eurogamer review is particularly glowing (and Eurogamer, unlike many gaming sites, is not afraid to deliver 1/10s, 2/10s, etc., so its reviews are actually somewhat useful.)

And aside from the fact of cultural evolution physical evolution takes a heck of a lot longer than a few thousand years to demonstrate the kind of results they seem to expect.

Maybe it was happy to find someone its size but got frustrated when the stuck-up bitch wouldn't talk to it. So it smacked her head off.

Really happy to see this nearing completion. With FoA2 and FoY it's hard to imagine an Indy game ever actually being more than just pretty screens and demos. (No offense to them!)
#37
This is getting spooky now.

QuoteSomething this blatently ignorant and completely devoid of any chance of success just seems fishy to me.

You try to sound jaded but really you're just an optimist!

(Never assume malevolence for what incompetence sufficiently explains...)

Will be.

Dude, I beat you to it:

QuoteBut if what it turns out people are so terrified of is a column of black smoke that makes you see images from your past, I'm so there.
