I personally don't believe that the word God should have been added to the pledge, but I'm aware of why it's there and don't really have a problem with it.

You don't have a problem with it being there because Congress wanted to differentiate us from the godless communists during the Cold War?

I don't want to drag this off-topic, but using "God" as a symbol of inalienable rights is just silly...

Thanksgiving is an American holiday, not a Christian holiday...

Two characters from a game I'm working on. Not much, I know.
(They are also in the Critics' Lounge.)

Any & all comments & criticism would be appreciated on these two.

EDIT: Oh yeah, if anyone has a suggestion for a decent color for the guy's shirt (as if you notice right now it's the same as the girl's) then please tell me.

Those are some pretty severe touch-ups...

...but the new face is nice. The contrast on the neck and lack of contrast in the face looks odd, though.

Non-adventure game critiques are fine; you just need to mention that it isn't for a game in your post. ;)

I think it's meaningful to compare Battlestar and Firefly because BG shows up the way Firefly pulls its punches in all aspects of the show.

And Battlestar's season two isn't over yet. It's only on a mid-season break. Though not as tight as season one, I think it's still parsecs ahead of Firefly.

Certainly "Pegasus" was, though I think episodes like "Final Cut" and "Flight of the Phoenix" were pretty weak.

Also, yeah, Firefly. Sweet.

A draw is possible in the current system as well -- has it never happened before?

IMO those items were different as they were intentional red herrings.

Eh... but you have to remember, the PS3 has to be finalized pretty soon if they're going to have a chance at launching it next spring.

In other words, what they have now is basically what it's going to have.

It's going to be in a RON game, so I avoided noise in favor of RON's "style" (as it were) of flat shading.

I appreciate all your comments, especially Andail's paintover. Hopefully I'll get an edit up by tomorrow.

(2x)

Any comments, criticism, etc, would be great.  :-* As I'm going to be doing at least a few more backgrounds of this forest, I'd prefer more general comments than the specific composition (is that the right word?) of the image (e.g. how the grass looks rather than the placement of a tree).

Ideas on how to make the path look more like, well, a path would be good, too.

Also, can everyone see the farthest back trees? They should look like just some dark lines towards the top of the image.

Finally, on a somewhat unrelated note: my copy of Photoshop displays colors rather oddly; for example, the saturation was apparently much lower in this image than Photoshop was displaying (I upped it about +30 for this display) and I've had hue problems as well. Any ideas as to why this is? It's a relatively new copy of CS2... luckily I still my old version 3 to depend on when the new guy fails me.

Now Gift of Aldora better have hours and hours of sheer gameplay (I'll take off one "hours") or I'll demand my nonexistant money back. :=

I think that games aren't really any easier, perhaps, just that we're better at them now. I can go back and finish Half-Life in a weekend, and I thought that was a difficult game when I first got it. Adventure games are of course the worst culprits because they're so little change in the gameplay -- but then you're probably not playing them for the gameplay.

General Grevious.

He's a robot, he's a coward, he wears a cape, and he coughs all the time. Come on, he's hilarious.

If you want into a room you can bash in any wooden door with some dropkicks. Or smash in the window, go outside and smash in another window of the room you want into.

What does it matter if you have to save the world.
But you're not saving the world, you're playing an adventure game.

The thought process that led to Full Throttle?

Now they just need to get it on Steam. :=

That's just like most games, right? From my memories of HL mapping anything concave had to be split into convex shapes to work properly.

It's not reflection, it's the DEVIL.
