I hate common myths, like "the Great Wall of China is the only man-made object visible from space,"

As disturbing as I find this - the mere notion that something just a few yards thick should be more visible than any other big building (stadium, skyscraper, pool, you name it) just because it's terribly long is appaling to me - I keep getting this confirmed by reliable sources. Sad but true.

The misconception is that it should be visible from the moon; it can only be seen just where space as a definition begins, which isn't that far beyond the stratosphere or whatever lies outmost.

Yes, it's visible where space begins, but other objects are as well. At least that's what my sources tell me.  ;)

I know on the travel show that a lady visited Thera, one of the Greek Islands (and actually is the place I most want to go in my entire life ever) and managed to do it for under 200 pounds or something, yet I haven't managed to find the same deal she used.

You're just looking for the entrance to the Lost City, aren't you?

I hate common myths, like "the Great Wall of China is the only man-made object visible from space," and "You only use 10% of your brain,", "Camels store water in their humps," etc.

Also, Sherlock Holmes never said "Elementary, my dear Watson," except in movies.

But most disturbing of all, is the misuse of the word GOOD. "Did you sleep good?" "NO! I slept WELL!"

Hmm, in Back to the Future Part 3 doesn't the 1950's Doc tell Marty how he should be wearing sneakers because they haven't been invented yet? Of course, using movies for historical reference is probably not the best thing to do...

I just bookmarked the News page and deleted the "news.html" whenever you posted about a new splash screen.

How do you use the Skill Tester? I have the coins from the vending machine.

Shouldn't it be "artifact"?  ;)

Will we ever be able to change custom properties by script?

Wouldn't the sun's position make the capsule's windows, and some of the rock outcroppings (like the one in front, and the one behind the cave) be in shadow?

The chair seems to be at a different perspective from the villager.

I have it working now. It seems that the reason it wasn't displaying was that I had set the GUI with the label to mouse.x and mouse.y, which for some reason made it not appear.
#614
In repeatedlyexecute() I have:

string location;
GetLocationName(mouse.x,mouse.y,location);
SetLabelText(0,0,location);

Now, I would think that would make Label Object 0 of GUI 0 display the location the mouse cursor is currently at. However, it doesn't seem to display anything. I've tried it with objects and hotspots. I think I must be missing something really obvious. Any help please?

Here's mine: Your first name of Grant creates a serious, thoughtful nature, shrewd, efficient, and business-minded. You are one to make your own decisions, and not be influenced by others. You desire independence and freedom from the authority and interference of others. You are not overly ambitious, preferring instead just to seek stable, settled conditions which are adequate to meet your responsibilities. You like to be your own boss and you capable handle responsibilities for others.

Yes, it is accurate to a point, except I'm ambitious.

I'm sure if someone took the time to compare these, they would find a lot of different wording for the same traits repeated over and over. It seems to me just a random assortment of traits probably in groups that go together, so they can take a random couple of groups, take a few traits from them, word them cleverly, and wa-lah, a seemingly specific description that still applies to the majority of people. As pessi said, if you read every one of these as your own, you'd probably find a lot are very accurate.

As for my comment about horoscopes: perhaps I should have said "the zodiac". I meant that people born in March are athletic, etc. Yeah, perhaps most people born in March are athletic, but that's because most people in general are athletic. The same applies here. Most of these traits could apply to anyone.

Hmm... never played Codename: ICEMAN, though I have a few characters from it from juncmodule's site. It's actually based on Indy (in his suit) from FOA, though about 1.5 times bigger... in fact the face is almost the same..

Here's an updated version:

I made his head a little bigger (I'd already done that a couple of times, but this time I think it's finally big enough), changed the face a bit (though now it's less symmetrical than before, heh), changed his hands a tiny bit (added 1 pixel), and the big one, changed his boot to more of a diagonal. It still looks kind of wrong, but I've been messing with it and it just doesn't want to look right.
#618
Heh, y'all realize how generic all these descriptions are? It's like horoscopes...

Looking for some C&C, suggestions, etc. I can't seem to get the boots and hands to look right.

EDIT: Added version without helmet/gloves.
EDIT: Updated w/ new version.

Great game!

Have you ever played Myst 3: Exile? The html book looks really similar to the journal in it.

Spoiler
Also, the book says to always start with the lowest spot, but the last spell has to be cast differently. Is this a bug or by design?
