And I had thought this thread had already crossed all the lines it could.

Interesting point; I wasn't aware of the cultural differences. I wonder if we Americans extend the casual dating because we don't want to move too fast, or because we feel we always have to be in a relationship and it's easier to maintain casual ones? or something else entirely?

As has been repeated, it's not about the numerical age difference; the concern is the different psychological (and sometimes physical) states of the participants.

At least learn to spell first. Grammar would be great as well, but we can't set our hopes too high.

We're comparing CJ to Tom Cruise now?

QuoteThe girl I'm currently madly in love with...:P...is 3 years, 13 months, and 6 days younger than me...(;D). I'm 19 (as of 4 April 2007), so she'll be turning 15 on 10 May. voh's rule tells me 15 is my minimum age. Her parents don't support my interest in her and she only likes me as a friend. And that's the way I like it.

Thank you for upping the creepiness of this thread that much more.

There's a lot more to level design than entertaining your friends... there are all sorts of rules and principles that one needs to learn and follow (or not, as the case may be, but as with everything you have to know the rules before you can break them). It's a field of its own and not to be dismissed lightly as "a bloody form of entertainment". If you ever hear/read one of the really good level design guys talk/write about how they work, it's fascinating. There's a lot more depth to it than people realize.

I didn't notice Beneath a Steel Sky or Flight of the Amazon Queen named.

Download ScummVM to play the games, the game downloads are close to the bottom of the screen.

Probably because they weren't originally freeware.

Somebody already mentioned TGTTPOACS, so I'll add Cubert Badbone, by the same author.

No one's mentioned Linus Bruckman yet?

I'm actually agreeing with the Drummer here. How does "character study" = "Indy sitting in chair sipping in tea"? I realize Indy isn't exactly high-brow entertainment, but that doesn't mean we should run away at the first mention of characterization.

Is her "hotness" really relevant to whether she'd be good in such a movie?

Descartes walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Hey, Rene, you want a beer?" Descartes scoffs and says, "No, I think not." And then he vanishes.

(if you don't get it)

QuoteThe art of a good reviewer is to be non-biased.

Games aren't spreadsheets. They're not a laundry list to be checked off one by one. They're GAMES for fuck's sake -- entertainment, or occasionally art. There's no such thing as objectivity and trying to make some kind of objective criteria just because it seems "professional" is moronic.

Indy 4 has been in development hell for years. Every year there's a new story that "filming will begin in ____ and it will be released in ____". I hope by now they just replace the dates and don't bother to write a whole new article for those non-stories.

I'd consider Indy to be more Spielberg than Lucas (although obviously both had much to do with it).

And also, Borat is offending Kazakhstahn and its conventional ways of living, and also they are offending religion. For example, when they stay at the bed and breakfast, they call the Jews evil and shapeshifters. And, at the end, they claim to be Christians and show a scene where they show the civilians poking someone with a pitchfork. I just don't find that humorous.

Then you missed the point.

I don't love Borat, but it's not shit.

QuoteAt one point after the ceremony, Oded comes up to me with an interesting tale to tell. “I was just talking to Tim Schaeffer,” Oded said. “He wants to meet you.”

Sorry? Tim Schaeffer? The Awards host? The guy behind Grim Fandango and Psychonauts and all around God of all things? Wants to meet ME? Uh, sure.

He shook my hand, and told me that he really enjoyed The Shivah and was looking forward to playing Blackwell I shook his hand and thanked him profusely, since this was truly praise from Ceaser.

You know that Yufster's going to be after you now, right?

No, but not because you don't deserve it. It's quite understandable that after what you've done that these people would be pissed, and you still have yet to apologize for many of your more grievous transgressions, as far as I can tell (such as the PM spamming, which I fail to see a well-intentioned purpose for). Suck it up. You make mistakes, you get burned for them. Regardless of whether or not that's the way the world should work, that's the way it does work.

I can't get them to work at all, in Firefox. They seem to download but won't import (error message says 'Not an AGS character file). Redoing them in IE works perfectly, though.

A minor thing, just wondered if anyone else was having this problem - I've just had to re-install  pretty much everything, so it might just be teething trouble.

Same thing happened to me, although I didn't try it in IE.

No, the twelve thing comes across pretty clearly.
