How about Ben Jordan 4, where Miggs locks the door after everyone enters, then starts laughing about his evil scheme and proceeds to try and kill everyone?

:P Well, it's just what his portrait makes me think of. He looks like the perfect evil, creepy master of a house.

Is it just me, or does that look like "The Sims 2"?

There's probably at least one tune in every game I like :P

I do, however, like others in this topic, like the Poom tunes (which are rather hilarious) and the opening theme of BaSS.

This definately has potential. :)

One very nice game. I greatly enjoyed both BJ3 and BJ4; once thing I'll say is I particularly like the Sierra-style dialogue system, the way the portraits are displayed animated alongside the speech seems to add a lot to the dialogue.

It would appear that AGS doesn't release MIDI device handles either when a game is closed down using Task Manager, or when a game is exited with Alt+F4. (Applications started to fail to open devices shortly after I did both of these, so I can't be too sure which it was.)

Since the only way to release the device is to reboot, this is quite irritating.

I'm on Win98, SE.

Hey.

How about a function that acts similarly to Wait(), except it takes miliseconds as a value? I find it more comfortable to work in miliseconds since it's more precice and easier to work with than the 40th system used by Wait().

e.g.:
waitms(2000); would wait 2 seconds, 500 would be half a second, 1000 a second, etc.

Of course, depending on what sort of timing system AGS uses, this might not be possible.Ã,  :-\

Looks very nice, however, with the current GUI interface I found it very hard to play. It'd be easier if you replaced the navigation system with something like what is used in Perils of Poom (Left button to look, Right to interact, i.e. open door, talk to person), as well as a status bar that shows what object you are currently hovering your mouse pointer over.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at the plot and giving suggestions and such. Do you have AIM, MSN, or something?

One other thing, the backgrounds shown above are in a very specific drawing style. Unless you can find someone who does backgrounds in a highly similar style, just keep in mind that those backgrounds might look a bit odd when placed together with work from someone with a completely different style.

Assistant writer, hm. What sort of things would this involve, tuning the plot and such in general I presume?
