Thanks to everyone who took the time to download Claire the first day after it was released.

But please let me know what you liked and what you didn't like about the game (except for the fact that Roger is the player character).

One thing I'm usually proud of is to script a solid game, including interactions that always make sense, in general to make the game very "tight."  It's obvious and painful if a game doesn't do this even in a minor way, but when a game does it hopefully you don't even think about it.

EDIT: Well, are we all having fun posting promo posts at the end of our threads now?  I'll have you know that my MAGS game is the only one without spelling or grammar errors!  So make sure to vote for it today.  Remember, if you're one of the 80+ people who downloaded Saddson Issein you can't vote for it yet until you play mine ;)  Actually I'm impressed 29 people downloaded Claire so far because of the larger file size (I clicked the download button once to make sure it worked), so thanks again.

Thanks for the comments.  As for Roger, the only excuse I have is the one in the readme - I can't draw, much less animate, a character to save my life.  As for making a 3D character to match the graphics, I'm not that good at 3D animation.  However, I would have made a basic 3D character if I'd had more time.

Well, don't look if you haven't played it yet, but just so you know I stayed on the rules, the celebrity is:

Spoiler
The celebrity is Claire.  All the pictures of her are from a well-known CG female movie character.

I've been absent but I wanted to finish a few things, including working on DQII and eventually making my RON game.  Coming up next will be my weird one-hour game.  But first, this MAGS month was a good one, you'll see how I did completely my own thing while keeping to the rules.

So here it is.  Please download from the AGS games page so that I can see the count.  Don't everyone overwhelm Sylpher's server all at once.  Lastly, please read the readme PDF before you play the game, if possible (you'll need a relatively new version of Acrobat Reader).

I will of course appreciate any comments you post in this thread.

I posted an illegal exception report for this game in the tech forum.  Well it only happened once so I'm not sure why, anyways.

Alright, must have been just that one day.  My computer is picky with AGS games unless I have a clean boot.  It's a 750 Athlon.  Anyway, it still has a bit of stutter but not that bad.

That's really awesome.  I LOVE the title screen.

The only thing is, it seemed to take forever to change rooms the first time, then when I went back to any room it seemed to go faster.

Well I'll just avoid the spoilers here, having not yet finished the game (I resolved never for hints / walkthroughs again), and say to Dave: This is amazing Dave!  You consistantly put out the best RON games ever :)  I am very much enjoying my way through this game.

In case you didn't pick it up from his post, Erpy also divided the testing into teams, so that each team had specific things to check (such as a spelling team, a plot team, etc).  That way it wasn't just a flood of messages (presumably).

Besides the major bugs that came after the release, there were also lots of smaller things that still needed fixing that weren't found by the beta team.

By the way, the patch is now available from KQ2 area of Tierra's website!  And a full list of changes is in the Tierra forums.  Wow, AGD2 really's been hard at work!

CJ, I haven't kept totally up to date on AGS, but I'm just wondering how Tierra is able to release a patch instead of having to re-release the game!  Is this a new AGS feature?

No one wants to play a stupid 1 gig game, or cares that you make a bit of noise with the fastest BPM ever.  #s do not make you cool or better or anything.

Well, don't let this toilet paper trance fill this thread anymore AGA.  Honestly, get rid of it.  These posts are a disgrace to this thread.

LOL personally I believe this is BS.  Anyway, my opinion notwithstanding, is it possible a mod moves all these posts into a new thread?  Yeesh.

And the swamp area should've been better.. Instead of having to go through the whole maze again.. It should be instant both ways...)

Yeah, not a bad idea - but you only have to go back once and it's not that long of a path.  Sierra has done worse.

Finally, I think (or at least hope) Tierra has barely scraped the surface on what they can do. I only wish I could hear the response from those on the original team for Kq2 when they play this.

I'm with you Sylpher.  Check out this thread on the Tierra forum by the way, bottom post is most pertinent, read the others if you're inclined!

Cool.  Opening cutscene stuff is professional looking.

Has the fix been uploaded?

I'm stuck, but that's OK.

Poser characters are slightly annoying, but better done than some previous times by others.

I hate arrogant self-extracting progs.  I don't want icons, menu items, adds to my registry, or to my control panel add/r prog list.  <sigh>
