QuoteGreat to see my review mentioned in Non Fiction area of the site.

Yes, it's mentioned in the "Latest News" column and everything. :)

The first step is to announce you need beta-testers (which you've done).  People will express their interest in helping out.  I, for example, am more than happy to lend a hand.

If you have a site that your testers can go to download, that's probably the easiest solution.  Depending on the size of the test-build it might not fit in some people's mail boxes (dependent on how full a person's mailbox is).

Speaking personally, if the file size is under 5 megs, I'll pm you my email addy so you can send it, otherwise the download option discussed above is fine.

Spoiler
Having only just played through Rend (I know left it a bit late lol) I found out that Elandra's parents died, is this point considered canon? it's just I made a throwaway comment about them and this game fits better after that point in the timeline.

Spoiler
Yes, it's a canonical event, not a happy one to be sure, but an event none the less.  It's explored in more detail in the final game of the Tapestry series (which should be out before the end of the epoch), and I've a few ideas that explore the changes in Elandra's new status in life in a future game or so.

Brentimous, good to hear from you.  Where've you been... seriously, where have you been?! :)

QuoteAs for Elandra's giant bust,

You had ample opportunity to adjust things when you had the sprites in your possession.

Scruff, nice work, although I think the sideways arm movement doesn't successfully match the arm movements in the down view.  As you're having trouble with the program you're using, have you tried other programs?  I'm using Beneton Movie Gif and found it works well and it's free.

Right, a resource pack has been made & is on the site.  I took a quick moment and centered the headers on a few things, so they stand out which should make finding a particular section easier.  Anyway, the file is "res-char-nwkrysprites-090821" and is in the Characters - sprites section.
#166
Don't worry about the colours, I'll make the necessary corrections as I prep these for a resource pack.

Part of me wants to ask that you do more.  The other, more power-corrupt part of my admin-psyche is simply contemplating putting you under a geas. :)

Scruff, nice work.  Do you have these in normal size, as the examples you have suffer from anti-aliasing.

In my own defense, I am almost done.  I just need to re-record some lines as I wasn't happy with the audio quality.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

With the original sprites Melt's shoulders are higher than Drake's, so I'd say Melt is slightly higher, although not by much.

I'd say ProgZmax's sprites either have a Jay & Silent Bob motif going on, or the sprites were captured while Melt & Drake were in a hall of mirrors.  ;D

It was due to rampant abuse of the ranking system that got it pulled in the first place.  The ranking list that appears at the top of the games page is one of those annoying remnants that should have been deleted but wasn't due to technical issues that prevented such an action.  Ignore the link that "ranks" the games as it isn't accurate, I know I do.

At this point, I'll direct people to James' announcement/farewell post if they've got the necessary knowledge of whatever behind-the-scenes software James uses to generate the database/whatever it is that's running things (you'd have to talk to James about that), if anyone is interested in helping out.

Since DC pointed out the George talking .cha file, it saves me from having to do an emergency sort & upload of graphics... although it is something that will need to be done at some point.

Secondly, ignore that map that DC has shown you for it is as old and useless as a gummy-bear stuck to the drop-ceiling of a high-school classroom.  You will find this background is more up-to-date:

Thirdly, I completely agree with DC.  It's very important to have characters with different names.  Just like Davy Jones, Dave Nihilist, Big Wave Dave.... ... er.... <cough> :).  If you want the character named Bob, why not use a different version of the name and call him Robert or something.

The gui file (res-gui-040104.zip - found on resource page) has directories that contain the toolbar and inventory graphics, if your intent is to use a classic sierra-style toolbar.  Don't forget, there is the new game template just waiting to be used.

QuoteHe plans to get his revenge by staying in Davy's house for the rest of eternity talking entirely in moaning noises to annoy him.

I'd of thought Cosby going through all the dialogue of his Coca-cola & Jell-O Pudding commercials would be more annoying... that or lines for Leonard Part 6 (which I've not seen). :)

QuoteCould someone please send me the graphics for the RON-styled icon bar

Which version of AGS are you using?  Do you mean the old template or the newer one?

I'd say it's very possible.  New music for RoN is always welcome.

Disappearance Time can be found on page 6, eighth from the top.  It's page can be found at this link.
#176
The link is more misdirected than dead.  Thanks for catching this, the page & link have been updated.

I did notice in rooms with a height greater than 200 px (such as the hospital vending machine corridor), the inventory box didn't stay in the lower left corner of the screen.  So if your character was near the top or middle of the room, the inventory box appeared mid-screen rather than sticking to the corner like it should.

Just a couple of points that don't need commenting on.

- The door in the hospital crossroads will reload the crossroads background if you click on it.
- Leaving DVE's basement takes you Startac instead of DVE's foyer.
- The walk-on regions for the open doorways in Baron W.'s victorian era manor are a bit finicky.
- Various walk-behinds need to be altered/added.
- Grammar & spelling mistakes/errors.

These issues will be addressed before the next build is released.

Just want to say that I have no difficulty in reading the the font as it is.  If someone with the eyes of a 30+ year old can read it, then anyone younger shouldn't have any problems  ;).

If the issue is 320 x 200 resolution, that can be dealt with by going into the setup menu and changing the visual setting to x2.

ProgZmax- again, thanks for the font.
