The funny thing is... I have a 7 year old XP Fujitzu Siemens laptop and it does everything I want with no problems. ???
I have Windows 7 on my work computer. But this old one back in the bedroom is my ancient, reliable XP machine. It still runs like a top and will probably survive the nuclear war that's about to kick off in Asia any moment now. I plan to use this dusty old box to play my retro games until I finally win an AGS Award and collapse from shock, dead and slumped over my treasured old model M keyboard. (nod)

Never be ashamed of your XP machine, brother Jay! (Also fight power, cooties, and so on)

The laptop i'm using now came with Vista.... I just had to format and stick good old XP on it.

How about just renaming the project "The Carnival" and none of the characters refer to eachother by name?  :-D

EDIT: Or just work on the project in secret, release the game by sending it to sites that don't care, email or p2p. The authors could do it anonymously, deny involvement if they're that concerned. (Wishful thinking.....I really wanted to play the game LOL).

Since this is an Adventure game forum i'd recommend Shadow of Memories. sort of adventure game, very unique.

Edit: Just read that it was called Shadow of Destiny in other territories.

Pixelated cleavage? Count me in!

Game updated to version 1.1.
Just some minor improvements to make the game less annoying to play. Thanks to DarkWater for pointing things out to me.
Also updated Bednaux's sprites to match his appearance in RC2 and 3, don't know what I was thinking with that hairstyle!

This might be a strange thing to say on an adventure game forum, but this thread really makes me want to play some adventure games!

Hopefully, Ron and Dave Gilbert will work together on a game and I can finally give up trying to remember which one of them is which.  :=

I thought Dave was just Ron from another dimension, come to save humanity through the medium of point and click adventure games!

Monkey Island was probably among the first games I ever played. Good memories I wouldn't have if it wasn't for Lucasfilm Games.

I'm getting that RoN itch again...... more sprite sheets to molest!
Also...RoN website down?

I've been experimenting with LiveTrace recently, I find that I have to tidy up the vectors to get a satisfying result. With this program, I don't need to!

Chapter three? But I haven't finished chapter two yet! I wish I could make games this fast.  :P

I've had some time off work, and I was a mess by the end of it! Long finger nails and a beard, it was like Leonardo DiCaprio in The Aviator!

After some late nights, a broken finger, my laptop almost melting, and my 10 month old son repeatedly pressing the backspace key...... I present to you Reality Check 3!
This is the final part of the Reality Check trilogy.
Paul works with Future Paul to change the destiny of 10 RoN characters, and save the future from the evils of the Yahtzeebrand Megastore!
HOFF!

I'm going to try and make something original next time, the RC games have been a good learning experience for me. No doubt I will return to RoN again, because I keep getting too many ideas and if I don't get them out there I may get a brain tumour!

For your graphical style, I think it would be good without voice acting. I'd be happy with bleeps and bloops!

Nice to see someone else making a Reality on the Norm game! Max Griff is one of the cooler characters, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

.......get you some background/back-story on the RoN universe in a shorter amount of time.

There are so many RoN games it can be daunting making your first game, you don't necessarily have to play a lot of them.
I prepared by reading as many character bios and game descriptions as I could, and chose a few characters that I found interesting.

WOW! I'm impressed by the amount of effort you've put into the planning, (though i'd expect it for a commercial game). I have a lot to learn in terms of adventure game development and I thank you for contributing this to the AGS community.

If art activities were restarted, where do you think the best place for them to be held?  The competitions section or keep them in the RoN section?

I'd say the competitions section, the RoN section of the forum isn't very active, It could get more people into RoN if more people see it.

Paul returns for more retail adventures!

When a future version of Paul explodes into his home, his future self warns him about the danger of the Yahtzeebrand Megastore!
Meanwhile Greyson and Davy Jones must figure out how to hide the Inadmerto Infectus.
Also.............more HOFF!

This is a short one, the setup for Reality Check 3 which will be the final part of the Reality Check Trilogy (not the last RoN game i'll make hopefully).
