Hi, Lorenzo.

I Really like the look of your game and can't wait to play the finished article.

Hey, Lorenzo.

I thought that your description was perfect. It said all that was needed. (nod)
As you said... Hopefully our game will get more interest and players now that it is in the "Pick of the Month".
I still can't believe this. (laugh)

Thank you, Lorenzo.

Hi, Cassiebsg.

This is very interesting. I wonder how many other people have the same problem with GameJolt?
The good thing here is that whenever I upload games to GameJolt I also upload to Itch.io too.
Maybe I should have included links for my games on AGS to Itch.io as well.

Just a quick question. Did you play "Tales of Jayvin"? :-D

Hi, BarbWire.

To be honest I have often wondered this myself.
What I have noticed is although my games (and ours  ;) ) I uploaded to "GameJolt" and linked AGS to go to the download page there...
The download counters seem to have a large discrepancy between the two sites (AGS and GameJolt).
Not sure why this is other than people click download here and then change their minds when GameJolt page opens. OR...
One or the other download counters doesn't work exactly how it should.
Of course, in saying this, it can't be AGS's counter that is at fault. (This is not a joke. I do mean this because the counter here does seem to work correctly.)

Not sure if having your own "paid" website makes things any easier or better.
I have a free Weebly site but unfortunately cannot upload to it. I can only advertise games there and link to GameJolt.

OH MY GOD!! 8-0 8-0 8-0

Thank you Lorenzo, for the "pick of the Month". 8-0
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw "Tales of Jayvin" there. :-D

On behalf of us all at "SPAMFASTIC STUDIOS" I would just like to say how much this means to us.
We are so happy that you have enjoyed our game, to the point that you think it deserves this prestigious honor.

Kind regards.
All at SPAMFASTIC STUDIOS.

Hi, Lorenzo.

I am so happy to hear that you had (and are  still having) a great time playing. :-D
Spoiler
It's great that you enjoyed mapping out the cave system and that you managed to get all the barrels and beat the Troll. Now... Your creature should only need a little more training to be able to beat the guy in the casino. Once he has been dealt with you can just enjoy gambling all your money away or become a billionaire.(laugh)

Thank you for your very kind words and your concern.
My knee is getting better. It kind of looked like I had four knees on one leg but it is nearly back to normal proportions, now. Only taken about eight weeks... Sheesh! (laugh)

Yours.
Jay.

Hi, Lorenzo.

Sorry I've been a while answering your post but I have been nursing a swollen painful knee. :(
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed playing our game, even if you weren't keen on the battling side of it.
I hope it didn't eat into your free time too much, as you travelled Naturnum solving quests and puzzles. (laugh)

Thank you for your very kind words and for playing "Tales of Jayvin".

Yours.
Jay.

Hi, Shadow1000.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a fantastic, in depth review of our game.
Your kind words mean a great deal to the team. Any points you raised, regarding the gaming experience, have been noted.
We agree that there are certain improvements which could be made, but to do this now would involve re-writing 50% of the game.
To tell you the truth I really don't think we have the strength. (laugh)

Your enthusiasm for "Tales of Jayvin" is much appreciated.
Thank you for playing and enjoying.

From all the team at SPAMFASTIC STUDIOS.

I think I know what you mean... It must be a little like looking at colours through those old 3d glasses. :-D
Obviously not that bad but... maybe you know what I mean... or not. (laugh)

Anyway... Bloody typical that we made a section that you can't play. (laugh)

Spoiler
The end creature is, if I remember correctly, Level 35.
You will need to be around level 10 to complete the "Barman Quest". and In the Casino you will need to be around Level 20.
Another point I would like to make is... You don't always need a lorry load of shields. One of our testers completed the game twice before we even added shields.

Hints & Tips / Re: Tales of Jayvin
Tue 18/06/2019 20:05:14
Ah... That makes sense. (laugh)
Sorry about that. Not much I can do about the colour of the apples.
Mind you... If you can see brown then just catch everything that isn't brown. :-D
Meant to say... Allowing brown apples to hit the ground will not take a life.

I think you will find that you will miss out on 5% of the completion percentage if you choose to skip this quest.

Spoiler
The apple quest gives you 250 coins and adds to the completion percentage at the end of the game.
QuoteI can't tell visually which apples are which colour.
May I ask why?
Are you, by any chance, unable to see certain colours correctly?

Hi, Shadow1000.

Glad to hear you are progressing well in the game.
Let me see if I can be of assistance here.
I will answer you second batch of questions, first.  (laugh)
Spoiler
For the barrels in the Bar cellar do them in this way...
Second Barrel, Push left. Move down... Push barrel Left. Move down... Push Barrel Left. Move down... Push Barrel Down. Move Right... Push Barrel Up.
Move Right... Push Barrel Down. Move Right... Push Barrel Right. Move Down... Push Barrel Right. Move Down... Push Barrel Left. Move Down... Get Key.

To get out...
Move all the way up and Push barrel up. Move Left... Push Barrel Up... And exit.

Now For The Apple Quest.
-----------------------------
Catch only the red and green apples. Red apples give you a life. Brown apples take away a life. Allowing red or green apples to hit the ground will also take a life.

The Fishing Game.
--------------------
What you must do here is to Hold Enter so that the bar in the target moves withing the coloured areas and then release Enter key.
If you get a good Hit... Red is the best... You will catch the fish quicker.
You can catch a cooking fish that you can eat at your house.
There is also a quest linked with the Fishing game, which you will be given by Jen, at her store.
Also... By becoming a skilled fisherman and obtaining a high score will give you a completion percentage at the end of the game.

Completing Quests
---------------------
Not all quests, when completed,  will open new ones. However, there are one or two that will.
As far as I remember there are about 14 or 15 quests. :-D

Hi, Shadow1000.

Thank you for your very positive comments.
I'm so glad that you are enjoying playing our game and hoping to achieve the ultimate score.
Most of the negative comments, so far, seem to be with the battling side of the game.
Although this is important I feel people might be missing out on the other aspects of the game, such as completing quests, puzzles, etc.
With the exception of two, the quests are more brain than brawn.

As RetroLee commented... There is no right or wrong way to play the game. I would say though...
Leveling up your creature is something you can do throughout the game and is not a requirement at the very beginning.
Explore, talk to the citizens of Naturnum, solve puzzles and read books. These will explain the history of the land.

yours.
Jay and Vincent.

Hi, There, Mouth for war.

I think these look great. 8-0
I don't see any reason why no one would buy these models.
From what I've seen of your other works that you post on here from time to time I think you probably have quite a vast library of models.
I have seen sites that are trying to sell this kind of stuff and they aren't nearly as good as these.
I say, go for it and see how things go.

Good luck.

Yours.
Jay.

Hi, Mandle.

I am going to send you a PM.

Hi, Mandle.

Thank you very much for continuing to struggle on with our game.
I suppose, on reflection, Polly's Chest Puzzle is rather difficult.
Please carry on playing because your feedback is most helpful.
We will look into any concerns you have and try to rectify any annoyances that you might find.

Yours.
Jay and Vincent.

Hi, There, Mandle.

I am disappointed. I thought that you would be up to the challenge. (laugh)
However... I would hate to be the cause of you pulling your hair out, if you've got any. (laugh)
Spoiler
Start the puzzle with the eyes in the top right corner... The foot in the top left corner.

That's all I'll give you for now. See how you go. :-D

Looks like we may have to open a "Hints and Tips" thread. ;-D

Yours.
Jay and Vincent.

Hi, Crimson Wizard.

I am at work, at the moment, but on Monday I would like to send you a PM so that we can try and work out what is going on here with this driver issue.
I will say one thing though... I have tried, in the past, to make a game with the D3D driver and have experienced nothing but weird problems, audio, graphical and just plain weirdness.
My other games I made with Direct Draw because of the strange problems with D3D.
I look forward to speaking with you about the issue so we can try to understand what is going on here.

Yours.
Jay.

Hi, there, Mandle.

WOW!!
I can't get over your truly fantastic post.
On behalf of myself and Vincent we wish to thank you for your glowing report.
We are so happy that you are enjoying our game.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

Yours.
Jay and Vincent.
