Thanks Slasher. Don't worry I will definitely down 1 or 2 or more for you.(laugh)

Thanks AnasAbdin. I am sure I have been screwed here.(laugh) I remember stuff that happened in my 20's but what happened to my 30's ?(laugh)

Thanks BarbWire. My creative juices are boiling, at the moment. I think I am going to have to let them cool for a while before my head explodes.(laugh)

Hi all good peeps of AGS.

A few days ago now I was shocked to discover that my web site (which had been very kindly hosted for me) had vanished.8-0
This was the site that I uploaded my games to for others to download here.
Unfortunately I have no idea as to how long it had been like this.:~(

However, I can now report that everything should be back to normal.

So, If you have been trying to download either "The Decorcist" or "The Lost Prince Of Lorden - Part 1" then I can now confirm that both are downloadable again.;-D

My apologies for not noticing this before.

Kind regards.
Jay.

Great !!

Thanks for your help, as usual, CW.

As you may have noticed my avatar is back and I have a new site AND... most importantly of all, my 2 games are now downloadable again.(laugh)
All is well with the world again... For a while.(laugh)

Yours.
Jay.

Sorry.
I just wanted to say that I seem to have cured the problem by increasing the sprite cache setting (within our games winsetup) from the default 20mb to 50 and now the error file isn't being generated.
I am not sure if this okay to change though.
I am wondering if the problem lies with 2 rather massive objects I have created for a diagonal scrolling effect. One object is the horizon that scrolls right and the other object scrolls diagonally over top of the horizon to give the effect that you are traveling up a mountain.
Could this be the reason for the error file and also why I have had to increase the sprite cache setting ?

Yours.
Jay.

Thank you Snarky.(laugh)

Hi CW.

Ah... I see.
I thought it was strange because I have never seen this before and have always compiled my games the same way.
But... At least I know that its nothing to worry about because our project is working beautifully, thank you.(laugh)

Jay.

Hmm... I think really I should have posted this in 'Beginners Technical Questions'.
Why the hell I put it here I don't know.

My dear Mr Snarky. Would you be so kind as to place my question in the aforementioned thread please.

Yours.
Jay.

Hi, All good peeps of AGS.:-D

Tis I RetroJay.(laugh)
I have been lurking around here for some time now but have been busy working on a project with a friend, using ags 3.2.1
I am also using Windows 10 and have just come across a rather strange Error text file in my compiled folder that says this...

!!!! SPRITE CACHE ERROR: Sprite cache should be empty, but still has 4 bytes.(wtf)

For the life of me I can't understand what the hell is going on here.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening, please ? ???

Yours.
Jay.

p.s. For some unknown reason my Kerbal Avatar has buggered off too.(laugh)
P.P.S. Actually. This is not a laughing matter, because I have just discovered that my site has also followed my avatar and I have no clue as to how long it has been gone.???

Hi All good peeps of AGS.

I have been meaning to do this ever since I saw that my game "The Decorcist" had been nominated for an Award. 8-0
Things have been a little hectic of late.

"The best Programming Award"... WOW !! 8-0

I would just like to say thank you to those of you who nominated my game for this most awesome of Awards.

Also... Something else I have been meaning to say...
For anyone who has played "The Decorcist"... Did you find the two hiding places ? (laugh)
There is one in the Mansion and one in the Garden. (laugh)

Anyway...
Thank you for nominating my game for an Award, I am most honored. ;-D

Yours.
Jay.

Hi Snarky.

This is AWESOME !!

Thank you for taking the time to do this and explaining what it does.
I think that this may be of great help to us. (nod)
A starting block, if you will, to build on.;-D

It is very much appreciated.

Hi All good Peeps.

AH HA !!

I now see what I have been doing wrong, with a very similar problem.
I have been spending days trying to create a "Pool Game" ...with ... Limited success.

All I had to do was ...
Do THIS with THAT and multiply IT by THAT... then times IT with WHAT and then WHAT again to equals ... WHAT !! (laugh)

Could anyone give us a clue as where to start scripting something like this, please.
Maybe then we can look at our scripts and understand what the hell we are doing so wrong.

I would love to get my "Billiard Game" Working... I don't think I ever will... BUT...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jay.

Hi Monkey_05_06

My chief gripes with AGS 3.4 are as follows.

1. I find the Win setup to be an odd beast. Games that run in 640x480 that used to run full screen on my monitor now do not, unless I stretch the screen which has strange effects on the graphics.
Also trying other resolutions and settings cause my game to look fuzzy. (This was the main reason I reverted back to Draconian).
2. The white screen when scripting really draws on my eyes and I find properly indenting my script to be awkward as there is now no border, after the line number, as a guide.
(The second reason I reverted back to Draconian). Also when trying to edit script I keep, for some reason, clicking those bloody minus signs, condensing my script.
3. As I mentioned to CrimsonWizard, a short time ago, there are still some sound issues. The sound panning and sound with scaling doesn't work.
4. Two separate windows to click between for properties and events. Is this really necessary or just a gimmick. (I found I kept wondering where things had gone until I remembered I had to click one pane
   or the other.)

Apart from these gripes I did not actually receive any error messages. ;-D
I know that you may find these things, I have mentioned, trivial but things that were working fine before are being overcomplicated now on 3.4. (Just my opinion though.) ;)

Yours.
Jay.

Hi AprilSkies.

I'm glad that you like it. ;-D
I thought to my self 'Well he performs a Decorcism on the Mansion so he is a Decorcist'
You know I would have loved to have re-created the picture from 'The Exorcist'.
The one with the priest standing outside the house holding his bag but instead of him it would have been Dan. (laugh)

Hi All.

Please note:
I have changed the name of my game from 'The Decorator' to 'The Decorcist'.
The reason that I have done this is because I have seen another game online that I really would rather not have my game confused with.
Not that I suppose any of you really give a toss. (laugh)

Just thought that I would mention it.

Yours.
Jay.
