Ah, thanks, Chicky/Squinky! Glad to hear that someone appreciates it! :)
And we do have songs without growls and more based around clean vocals as well, so if you're turned off by the gut-wrenching part of my vocals I can always upload one of them too. ;)

Well, since I've got some of my bands new songs uploaded already, I could just link them here if this thing gets going. Could be fun, methinks. :) I'm on, for sure.
I dunno if it should be a competition, though - It would just be fun to share and hear what all the AGS'ers have to offer. :)

Here are two of the songs featured on our new demo with Ingnis, unfortunately unmixed at the moment - We can't get them mixed until august, I'm afraid, but this is at least the songs... :)Ã,  Just right-click and choose "save as..." if you're interested.

General Discussion / Re: NES or SNES?

Yes, indeed - If you don't get a SNES you're... A non-owner of a SNES! Ah-hah! Foiled rings round ya with logic! So now buy it. Don't even consider a Sega.

And no, I'm not just being frantic becuase I was rasied with a SNES, it really, really is a great console. Seriously. (RPG's were better on SNES. It's a fact.)

Ah, thanks for the positive comments, y'all! :)

Stefano:
Mm, myes, you might be right - I'll try and redo the hair a little...

My main concern right now though, is the grasstraws in her mouth - They look kinda akward, and I don't really know how to get them to look more natural... Hm...Ã,

Hm, yes, I'm in one of those periods again, when the creaitivity starts to flow, and I pick up the ol' pen and paper to draw something. And this time i even deciced that I'd try and learn something, so I used a technique I've kind of resisted before... Using a photo-reference... Ahem... Heh... So I chose a picture and tried to make it as close as possible to the original without copying it straight off.

Original picture:

I'm kinda happy with it so far, but any suggestion, comment, whatnot is of course welcome!
In other words: Hit me with c&c, damnit... I might wanna show it to the model sometime...Ã,  (a girl I'm seeing at the moment... :) )

Cheers!

Well, I listened to them quite a lot a few years ago, but then sort of "forgot" about them for a while, and just recently picked them up again after discussing them with the guitar player of our band. :) So it's kinda funny that you post a thread like this now. Heh.Ã,

Definately a good and original band with a whole bunch of great songs, if you ask me. Of all the bands in the very dubious so called nu-metal-movement, they're the only band that has ever really caught me. Maybe because they're the only ones who seem to have a sense of humour and are able to distance themselves a bit. :)

"Toxicity" is good, but I have to say that their debut is my personal favourite.

Ah, I do like the idea of a Tintin-based adventure game, seeing as it's one of those comics that I read fanatically when I was a kid, and still do find brilliant today... :)
And I just got the urge to re-read my old albums again the other day, so this thread kinda jumped out at me now. :D
But I do think it could be hard to capture that essence of the comics if it's not done very, very good...

I'm not sure which book would be the best to to an adventure game out of, though... I need to think that one over... Ã,  Ã,

Ah, Yuffy, kickass! You're my idol for the moment right now. ;)
I can't think of any other special piece of music to do other than that, though... But you keep up the good work - Great stuff. :)

I happen to have bought Octopussy again and have set aside some time to watch it (I have been putting it off and putting it off due to my innate fear of clowns). Are there any particular tracks you'd like Midified? Or from any other Bond movie? I shall try.

Yay! :) Octopussy is actually one of my favourite Bond movies, and I happen to like almost the entire soundtrack of that movie, so about any piece would satisfy me... ;)
But if you take requests, I do especially love the action theme - The one used during the fight in Octopussys bedroom, and in other parts of the film...
On Her Majesty's Secret Service also a good one to take music from, if you ask me...
(I just realized I'm still such a big Bond geek... :D Haha...)

Yes, yes, welcomebackness to you both, even though I only remember 2ma2... :)
But someone who names themselves Mr Bungle is allright in my book... ;) Hehe...

"Squeeze Me Macaroni"

I wanna lock Betty Crocker in the kitchen
And knock her upper during supper
Clutter up her butter gutter
Hostess Ding Dong wrapped an eggroll around my wong
While Dolly Madison proceded to ping my pong
Your Milky Way is M'n'M in your britches
And I'll tell you Baby Ruth it looks mighty delicious
Keep blowing my gum, cuz here I come
I'm gonna get you all sticky with my Bubble Yum

Knick knack paddywhack and give your dog a bone, baby...

...Sorry... Just had to... :)

Well, personally, I've always been very fond of Discworld II... :)

Other than that, GK1 and most of the early 90's LEC-games are on the list as well.

Okeydokey... Here goes...

- Monkey Island III
- Grim Fandango
- Sam & Max Hit the Road
- Sam & Max Hit the Road/Day of the Tentacle (same package/on the same cd)
- Full Throttle
- The Dig
- Discworld II
- Discworld Noir
- Gabriel Knight 1
- Gabriel Knight 2
- Gabriel Knight 3
- Broken Sword 1
- Broken Sword 2
- Blade Runner

I think that's all... If I'm not mistaken... Hum...
#176
Ah, shite, that's a hard question... I can't decide on which one I like best, but the soundtracks that I'm particualry fond of are:

Discworld Noir (I mean, come on - Murky and gloomy jazz! Can it get any better?!)
Grim Fandango
Monkey Island II
Gabriel Knight (All of 'em really, but especially 1 & 3.)
Pleurghburg: DA (Sets a good mood. Simple as that.)

Ah, Flippy, I've got to say I like the first one very much, actually. The first lines of "Primal" are great!

QuoteThe secret is to run.
Footsteps become the dull timpani; develop their own subtleties, ‘til each shuddering footfall
Is a crashing orchestral hit.
Love it! :D The rest of it is also good, but I especially like that first part.
The musical reference is spot on, in my opinion. Hehe.
Don't know what to say other than that. Critizing poems isn't my forte. :)

First of all: Great to see that it's not just me and Kinoko here on the forum that has realised the greatness that is Terranigma... ;) It's a bloody brilliant game. Play it, indeed.

Since it's based the Ark sprite, I suppose you'd like to stay away from the "A bunch of red bananas"-hairstyle that he has... Heh. Maybe try something more neutral, like this:

(A really quick edit - Just added hair and a bandana)

General Discussion / Re: Computer trouble.
Sat 01/01/2005 16:18:33
Hm, yeah, the same thing(or at least something very similar) happened to me just a while ago. I turned on the computer, and it wouldn't load, it just gave me a black screen saying that a file was missing/corrupt.
I reinstalled windows, and it went fine, for a while, and then it did the same thing again after about a week. After about threee more times, I borrowed a copy of the windows XP cd from an uncle of mine, since I realized that the installation cd that we had was damaged/scratched, which made the installation incomplete, and that was why the thing would act as it did.
So if installing it again doesn't work, I'm not really sure what you should do.
Try doing what hillBilly said, though. Always worth a try.
