Yes, yes! Slappy Shirtsday, LGM! :)

Highwaygal:
Yep, it sure is. :) Glad that someone finally noticed...

InCreator:
Good call on the jacket - Making the shirt lighter gave it a more of bleached/"washed out" look, which fits rather well with the character, I realised... :)
And adding studs and stuff to the jacket would be good if he was a punk/heavy metal sort of person, but he isn't the kind that likes to make much noise about himself and how he looks, so it would fit the character, I'm afraid.Ã,

ProgZmax:
Ah, nice paintover - That was more of what I had in mind from the beginning. Introverted is good description of the character as well... :) And thanks for the advice!

SpacePirateCaine:
Thanks for the tips! You were right about the hairline - Lowered it some pixels.

So, here's an edit - I did an effort to try and combine as much of all of your tips and comments into it, but without losing sight of how my original vision of the character was.

- Took inspiration from the face in Damiens paintover, but removed wrinkles for a more youthful look. Made the shadows more prominent, to enhance his facial features, but kept the more pink-ish skin colour.
- Lowered the hairline and made the hair a bit darker.
- Changed the nose in the sideview.
- Made shirt lighter.

Cheers!

Babar:
Yeah, I was a bit lazy there - I'm gonna add ears to it now. :)

Damien:
Ah, nice paintover! Looks really great, although your version made him look a lot older and unhealthier than my character is supposed to be. :) I supposed I should've mentioned a bit more about him...
He is supposed to be a rather quiet, pale(pale, as in "doesn't go outside too often-pale") newly graduated art-student in his early twenties. The repaint is more of a cynical, smoking, film Noir-detective, in my eyes... Hehe, but it's a great sprite, never the less!
Thanks for the tips - I'm gonna take them into consideration and see what I come up with...Ã,  Ã,

Critics' Lounge / Main Character - C&C needed
Mon 27/12/2004 15:19:44
Well, hi again, folks!
To cut it short, I've been pushing around the pixels on this one by myself for a long time, but now I feel I really need some help/critics/opinions, etc.
It's the main character for my game, "Trailing Blood", and you might've seen him before in my earlier threads, but in a less developed form...
Anyways, it's the side view that's giving me the most trouble right now - I can't get it to look any good. I'm pretty happy with the front view, but any suggestion is of course welcome! Just bring it on!

Cheers! :)

Just some minor edits - Fixed the hair, etc.
#188
Ah, this is good. Especially the shading.
You've really improved! :)
Still, there are some minor stuff that you could try and fix.

- The human head's right eye is a bit out of shape, try and make it a bit more like the left one.

- The bum's left eye looks a bit wierd, I'd make it a bit smaller, so that it matches the other one.
Plus, some extra shading on his chin wouldn't hurt, either. :)

- Also, the tears look a bit wierd - Maybe you should make them filled with light blue instead of just having them "see-through"?

- The heart-thingamabob's eyes could use a bit of definemtnet, as it is now, they don't stand out enough...

Other than that, a fine job, methinks. :)

Well, Developer, I wouldn't know, since it doesn't show... Could you perhaps upload it again? I'd love to see what it was...

YOke:
Good points - I don't know if I covered them all in my edit, but I think I'm heading in the right direction...
And nope, you can never ever go wrong with X-Men! ;) Now that's a fact.

I think my next point will be fixing the hair... I just realized that it looks kind of wierd at the hair-ends...
Plus that I'm gonna do some scouting for some good body references... Ahem... ;)

Keebo:
Heh, well, I would do that, but I'm afraid effects will just make it look cheaper... :) Plus, Storm should have clear, white eyes.

Squinky:
You might be right about the hair-line, I based it on a picture I found in a X-men comic book, and there her hair looked kind of funny... I'll try and see if I can get it to look better, though... :)

Haha, yeah, I'll see what I can find... Shouldn't be too hard... ;)

I should have gotten back to him, man, but my computer has been down or a while, so I'm gonna wait until it's ok again,. until I start "bugging" him again... Hehe...

Glad to hear that you like it, chicken! :)
But folks, there's got to be something that could use some improvement, right?

Critics' Lounge / Time for some fanart!
Sun 14/11/2004 13:28:20
Well, well, one would think that due to the downtime of the forums, I would have had time to work on my game, right? Well, wrong! I would have, had it not been for the fact that the computer that I have everything on decided to be a jerk and crash, so it'll take a while before I can get back on that track.

So, just recently, I started reading some of my old X-men comics again, and realized it would be pretty fun to do some fanart for a change. (And to prevent my drawing skills from deteriorating...)
So, here it is. :)

I did both Wolverine and Cyclops at first, but then settled for Storm. Hehe.
My main concern is how I should do to get her chest/breasts to look good - I've tried several times without getting it to look good.
But any critisism or comment is as always welcome! :)

Cheers!

Wee. Pretty close, except for the bit about the kids.

General Discussion / Re: The Dig Game
Sun 24/10/2004 20:42:48
Agreed. Go and buy it instead. I bought my copy of both The Dig, Sam & Max and Full Throttle at a local computer store maybe a bit more than a year ago, for a cheap price. (About 13$ for each I think, if my conversion from swedish crowns was correct... :) Feel free to correct me...)

So, in other words, yes - it is still available.
#196
Wow - I agree, this looks bloody marvelous! There is a very odd and eerie feeling over the screenshots, and I think I'm gonna enjoy playing this one... :)

The best of luck with it!

Well, I've got pretty long hair - About down to my shoulders, and I like it that way. Some people thinks it looks good, some people hate it, but I couldn't care less... Hehe.
I probably look like your ordinary household stoner/hippe.Ã,
Now if only I could get a really cool beard to match it, and I would look like... Bill Ward! Yeah, far out!

And I don't care if girls have long hair or are clean shaven - As long as the hairstyle suits them, I think anything looks pretty on a girl. :) I'm open-minded.

Well, I really don't feel like I can contribute that much to this whole thing, me being a vocalist and pretty worthless at any musical contribution (With perhaps the exception of a bit of drumming here and there, but I don't think that counts...), and the few times I do try to play any instrument, it's usually just by myself, and for my own amusement... But I do write a lot of lyrics and stuff. It always seems to come easily to me.Ã,

Personally, the thing I think of most today when I write stuff is first of all to have a good vocal melody before even writing anything. Of course, it's not neccesary, but it does help a lot if you have something good to "hold on to" while thinking out the words. Just writing down the words before having a melody can also work, but at least in my experience, it's been a lot easier to do it in the first way.
Sometimes I can get out some lyrics that I'm really satisfied with just by improvising to an already excisting song, than I get from sitting down for hours and trying to think of something that sounds absolutely "right"....
I do have a hard time to think of music for a lyric that I have already written, though. I guess that comes from not being a musician, I guess...

Ah, shite - Reeves is dead?
That feels really wierd for me, in a way -Ã,  Not because I was a huge fan or anything like that, but just because for me, he represented that glimpse of hope that showed that you can do anything if you really want it. It always felt like he would never, ever give up. I agree with Darth - I would have loved to see him up and walking again. Too bad fate wanted otherwise.

Rest in peace - All of you.
