Agreed - Play Fry 3. A great game it is. :)
And Squinks, that's a nifty background - Reminds me of some other game, it's just that I can't remember which one it is at the moment... Agh. Oh well, good luck with it anyways - Looking forward to playing it when it's done.Ã,

Heh, CJ, next april's fools day, there's no need to even figure out a new prank - Just revive this thread with a "Right - I changed my mind! It is shareware! Foo's!111! Hah, pay me teh money, you spoiled brats!11!" and let the shocked community have it's say, just to reveal the "Haha, you fell for the same trick twice in the same thread, lolorz, haha" finale after the upset voices have been shouting for a while...Ã,

I'm sure it'll work! Honestly!

Heh, to be totally honest with you, the first thing I thought of was a cheap fantasy novel, actually. (Either that, or a new Dio-album... :) )

Yeah thats good too, but the smile scared me.

:)
Haha, yeah, that's right - Every mortal flee in terror as Helen whips out her grim and terrifying... ...Smile?

Still, I can see why you chose Pesty's though - Great sprite/backstory. :)
Mine was written down rather hastily, I'm afraid...

Hm hm, since all of you seem to go for the cyber/sci-fi theme, I though of a different twist... I hope it's legit enough... :)

In the future, technology has caused man's downfall. Weapons and warfare is deadlier and more advanced then anything ever seen before, but the advancement has turned to a knife in the back. The power from the new world's arms race has caused a imminent holocaust to turn closer. Doom is near, humanity is divided and fragmented into groups of anti-technology-cults, corporational attack squads, and confused common people, just fighting for their own survivial.
Amongst of all this, the symbol that they all either follow or hunt for is the beautiful Helen, reborn and returned to earth in the form of a seductive and deadly demon.Ã,
Her ominous and partly encouraging smile is the final sign of the coming armageddon...

In the games was Rincewind still assistant libriarian at the UU?

Yeah, at least I suppose so - It's never really mentioned in-game that he works in the library, though.
Still, the history of the games isn't exactly the same as in the books, so... :)Ã,

You probably never would have guessed this, but I named myself after the character Rincewind from Terry Pratchett's Discworld books/games. Teh Surprise!

"Lo! Behold this tall, stone pointy thing! Who knows it's mystic secrets? Who cares? - Not me, for one."

You gotta look hard for this!

1. I changed my avatar to something from Homestar Runner, but changed it to something else when I thought I was being an incessant fanboy.
2. I am spending far too much time on my game, when in fact, I'm not actually working on it at all.
3. The last time I posted under my screenname, the Larry Vales smilie had not yet been ressurrected. But it had been created already. Um... Yes.

WHO IS I ?????????

Maybe Auhsor? Or am I wrong?

General Discussion / Re: james bond, in Tv
Mon 06/09/2004 21:00:59
Holy poop on a stick - As an old James Bond fanatic who's interest recently awoke again, I cannot do anything but answer to this.

First of all, the best Movie Bond to me is both Sean and Roger. When the two of them are at their best, the compliment each other perfectly. Connery as the ruthless macho agent who spits out onliners as he knocks out the henchmen, and then there's Moore, as the perfect english gentleman, who always keeps his cool.
I'd call it a draw. Comparing Connery's best scenes to Moore's best scenes just ends up in me being confused and torn...

Lazenby wasn't all that bad as he's been reputed to be either, his job in OHMSS was good, methinks - I f he hadn't jumped off the series, I think he could have grown into the part nicely.

Dalton is a hard one - He's brilliant in TLD, and captures Bond perfectly, with both humour and a cold Fleming-ish chill, although he fails to reach those heights in the far worse LTK, which feels like an ordinary, run-of-the-mill action movie with a main character whose name just happens to be James Bond.

Brosnan is perhaps even harder to judge. He felt a bit stiff and unaccustomed to the role in GE, but got better and better in TND,Ã,  TWINE and DAD. (Which is on the whole one of the worst Bond Movies, in my opinion...) If it wasn't for the announcement of his "resigniation", I would definately like to see him go on for another one, not just for his improvement in the role, but also for the sake of continuity.

Oh dear, this turned out to be a longer rant than I expected... Oh well... :)
You only live twice, after all.

Bond Quote for the day:
"Ah, Mr. Bond... You appear with the tediousness as that of an unwanted season."

Hm... I haven't met any really huge/super-famous/"omg!111" ones, which might not be any huge surprise...
I have met both Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman and Mort Walker (Creator of Beetle Bailey) though, at the Gothenburg Book Exhibition in 2001, which was one of the greatest moments of my life.

I remember when finally standing in front of Mort himself, being more than a bit nervous, and waiting for him to sign the book I had bought... I was sweaty and jittery enough as it was, meeting an childhood idol, but when he suddenly stopped in the middle of the process of signing my book to stare at my t-shirt that I had gotten during the day, that said "Meet Terry Pratchett here and there, blah, blah..." and asked me very politely while pointing at it: "What's that?"

I remember stuttering, trying not to sound like a fanboy wetting myself, but failed miserably.

"Eh, well, um, yeah, it's, um, like this other series of books, by this, eh, author called Terry Pratchett that I'm like here to meet today, and, um, like, yeah. He's good."Ã,  Ã,  Ã,

Still as calm as a rock, Mort just answered "Oh." and continued the signing. Then he gave it to me and said "There you go." :)

Meeting Neil Gaiman and Pterry was equally cool and nervous, and not just because I got "Good Omens" for free, since I had walked around in that t-shirt the whole day, but also because I got to see that the two of them were just as funny in real life as in their books... :)

"Everybody comes here for Terry! No-one comes here for my books! But it's ok, it's fun anyway..." :)

Other than that, I haven't met any real, "famous" people, no... Maybe some semi-famous swedish celebrity, but that's all. :)

First of all: Kickass Artitude! So many great entries!
I wasn't even going to enter though, but when I saw Dart's, I was so inspired that I had to do this one... :)

Note the lack of neck and the patented use of Shawnotageâ,,¢.
Hopefully you can see who is who in the picture... :)

Hehe, Darth...Ã,

- "What the fuck are you talking about? The chinaman is not the issue here, dude. I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, dude. Across this line, you DO NOT... Also, dude, chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please."

Aah... Great sprites! Love that movie so much. :)Ã,

Yeah, I have XP and have the exact same problem - It just shuts down and restarts without warning, on an irregular basis... I have no solution, though...Ã,

Yes and no. Unless I change my mind midway or something, the weapon/armour won't be displayed visually in your GUI, only as text. In that regard, I guess it's more like Breath of Fire II or even Final Fantasy 4. I keep playing with the idea of changing that, but it would clash with my current GUI so I'd have to rethink the whole thing. I -am- still considering it though.

Okeydokey - I just thought I'd ask, just in case... :) It would be cool to see it in use again, since it is an a brilliant weapon system, but then again, it's good to do something new as well.

And just for the record - Made my way through the Mermaid Tower yesterday... Harhar. ^_^
