Hmm, it's a pity you never played past Mu. One of the best parts of the game is directly after Mu... in fact, the whole game improves significantly after that. You should get a rom and replay it! ^_^I also only played some of Soul Blazer on an emulator. It was interesting and had it's merits but once I got stuck, I just drifted away from it. I'll try to pick it up again some day, I really would like to finish it so I've completed the whole series.

I'm glad a lot of people are happy about the non-turn based combat. I really do like turn based RPGs but I think both sides have their merit, and I find this "real time" fighting to be more suitable to the style and story of GoA.

Re: Turbo... Probably not, because I wouldn't have thought about it. I probably wouldn't have had a dog, either :P

Mm, yeah, I have it as an rom now, but now I can't even get past the first boss... Bah... I never thought I'd get worse at playing that as I got older... Hah.
Although I did get to see some things after Mu, since when I got stuck sometimes, I used to play on some of the saved games my buddy had... Heh... *cheater*
Yeah, I'd like to play SB again as well, but since the RPG Oasis closed down, I don't know where to find the rom anymore... Bah.

Oh, and is thereÃ,  gonna be a weapon/armor/item system similar to Terranigma, btw?

Sure will ^_^ though it won't be for a few months yet, you've got the job! How could I not take advantage of such a great Terranigma fan?

Ahh, cream-a-cat... I named my last cat Ark ^_^ I'd always tell him, "Ark is the noodle king!"

Yay, awesomeness! I'll hold you to that!

Haha, that's cool... The Noodle King... I almost forgot about that...Ã, I liked Cream-a-Cat better, though.
(But I hope that you would have named your cat Turbo if it was a dog, right? :) )

Ooh, I hate to be a shameless promotor, but it appears that our guitarist has decied to upload all of our songs with Ingnis here, so, if anyone is interested in listening, it's all there... Heh.Ã, :)

First of all, great style - Looks incredibly good, I must say.
Though, one thing that caught my eye is the look of her left arm, which perhaps would look better if it was tilted backwards in an angle similar to the right one.
...Just my 2 cents, though... :)Ã,  Keep up the good work!

Ah, me too!! I never had so much trouble with anything in that game as I did with bloody Bloody Mary. It took me AGES to finally be able to beat her, and I had to level up heaps and basically only did it by using one spell (lightening or something like that) over and over until she was dead. I can do it pretty well now but the first time I played that game... she was so god damn difficult. I'm so happy to hear I wasn't the only one.

That game... just blew my mind. Have you played Illusion of Gaia too? I assume you know that's the game that comes before it in the storyline. It's not as good but still great and the tie-ins between the two games are nice.

*ahem* Anyway, I could talk about how much I love that game for hours. I'm trying to put a lot of what I love about Terranigma into Gift of Aldora (without just ripping things... I mean more in terms of the "feel" of the game).

Hehe, I know what you mean... I especially hated those goddamn masks that kept flying around and drained your energy... Argh...Ã,  And yeah, the best way of kicking her ass was to just keep on building up experience until you reached level 50 or something... :)

But still, there was very little that compared to the moment when you finally defeated her... After that, every boss in the game felt kind of easy... Heh.
Ah, cripes, I think I'll have to either replay it on my emulator or try to find the original somewhere now...
Gotta play some Cream-a-Cat... :D

Yeah I know that - The same buddy who had TerranigmaÃ,  also had IoG, and although I didn't find it as good as Terranigma, (Much due to the fact that I never managed to get past Mu... Hah...) it was entertaining, none the less.Ã,
I also played Soulblazer on an emulator, but it didn't feel nearly as good, both story- and gameplay-wise as Terranigma.

Hehe, I get that as well... But it's a game that truly deserves some fanatic ramblings, I say... :) Once again, good luck with it all!

And, um... You wouldn't happen to need a beta-tester when that time comes? :D

:o You have a blackface Super Reverb??

http://search.ebay.com/blackface-super-reverb_W0QQsokeywordredirectZ1QQfromZR8

There are only a couple up right now but a BF SR is a hot item among blues players (Stevie Ray Vaughn loved them).

The picture there was not that good, but yeah, it looks like the one we use.
It's not really ours, it belongs to a friend, who used to be a part of our old band, and who left his amps in the basement where we rehearsed, and still hasn't picked them up... :)
I knew that it was a very tractable (sp?) object, but not that tractable... :)

Chicken:
Thanks! :) I'll add some highlights, to be certain.

Jam:
Hm, yeah, I suppose you're right - But maybe I could just make the shadow run more along the base of the mountain instead... Ah, it's hard to explain what I mean in words... I'll do an edit soon, so that you might understand my ramblings...

Steve:
No, sorry, it's not supposed to be a fantasy background, it's at least meant to be for a contemporary GK/Broken Sword-mystery-thriller, but I can understand if looks more like something out of Discworld than Gabriel Knight... :)

Plus, if you play guitar through a tube amp, the influence it has on your music is undeniable, IMO.Ã,  :D

Heh, I didn't think of that, actually, but we do play through a tube amp... :D
An old Fender Super Reverb Amp from 1965 has been used while recording two of our demos.Ã,
So, in other words, sorry for the mockery above. ;)

Ach, beware, I tell you - Beware!
Don't let him come near you with that syringe, or you're surely done for.

Ah, Opo, man - I had a hunch when I saw that you had replied that I was going to see a great paintover, and it seems I was right... :) Looks really great - Gave me a lot of ideas and pointers - Extremely helpful!

I did use the texture you made for the ground, and I hope you don't mind that. Otherwise I've mainly just tried to achieve a similar effect to that of your edit, but without copying, and with a touch of my own... (For example, I realized that the grass on the roof was "shaded" in the wrong direction...)
I don't know if I've suceeded, but at least it's improving... :)

C&C?

Yufster, with this mystery revealed, I think you should keep your eyes out for people trying to build odd machinery in your backyard. Especially if they have a curious german accent and like to wave Lugers around a lot.

Well, yes, at least it's supposed to be a stairway leading down. I think I have some ideas of how to make it look better, though... But I'll get to that tomorrow... :)

Rincewind: Terranigma is one of my two favourite games of all time ^_^ Equal with Breath of Fire II.

Ah, blimey - You now have my total and utter respect! :D
I remember borrowing Terranigma from a friend of mine who had bought it when it first came out. He had finished it it like three hours, whereas I had to sit for months, struggling just to get past Bloody Mary... :) Ah, just a really, really good game. The story was perfect, and I loved the way all different events in the game was tied together at the end...
So in other words, if it's just somewhat resembling of Terranigma, I'll like it... ;)

Good luck with it!

Are you also a fan of Svetlana vacuum tubes or does the word mean something I'm not aware of?

Yeah, they are the best vacuum tubes, ever. No doubt about it. The influence it has had on our music is undeniable.

...Or it's just as Highwaygal said, a common russian name. :) We actually sat down and thought that heck, if you can name a band "Abdullah", you can name a band "Svetlana". We even thought of calling ourselves "Ayatollah", and doing another project called "Eulalia", (Which might not mean anything unless you are swede... ) but we skipped those ideas... :)

Ok, took a little longer than I had expected, but here's an edit, anyway.
I feels better, but I'm still not quite satsified with the shadows, though.Ã,
Oh well. Any more suggestions?

Bill:
Hehe, acoustic hardcore? That sounds funky... :)
A local Grindcore band called Gravelgrinder did an all-acoustic version of one of their songs, "Sons of Gravel", so I have a faint idea of what to expect... But I'm sure your music is a bit different, so I'll download the song, no doubt about it!Ã,  Ã,

Ah, this looks very good - The graphics looks cartoonish, but still very bleak and depressive... Heh, at least that's the impression I get... :) As I said, looks mighty fine.
The story sounds rather macabre, but that's just good, I'd say... I'd say it's a slightly more morbid version of "Little Johnny Evil"... ;)

Good luck with it!

Mm, good ideas. I'll try to edit it as fast as I can...

Glad you like the clouds. I've been doing them like that in my bg's for a while now, since I couldn't get the "ordinary" ones to look quite right... :)

Ah, too bad. I would really want to hear how a combination of pop, death metal and electronica sounds. :)
