Dude... I've gotta say that I'm really, really looking forward to this...
It looks like "Outlaws", but with CMI/BS-styled graphics... Amazing!

Good luck with it!
(And don't hesitate to show us more art! ;)Ã, )

Aye, Opo & Loominous already got there first... Ah well... Now that I made it, I might as well show you an edit I scribbled up...Ã,

- Re-shaped his head and hair a bit. Added shading, more details, etc.
- Edited the trenchcoat and removed those dark green-ish lines...
- Changed the position of his arms.
- Some other minor stuff...

It's no masterpiece, but hopefully it'll be of help... :)
I think you have a nice start otherwise - Did he buy that coat in New orleans, by any chance? ;)

My two cents as far as the plot goes:
The first one sounds more like a mystery/thriller/detective type of game to me, which I like very much, but if you want more plain horror, the second one is to prefer, I suppose...Ã,

Ok, time for updates again... :)
I followed most of Darths tips - Changed the window (And added some light wood textures to the border), the shading, and also did a feeble attempt to change the ear. I'm not that satisfied with it, though... I'm gonna try to rework it again.

Marley:
Well, it's not that hard, and I'm not that good either, compared to some of the others around here... It just takes some practise... :) You keep on trying!

Vel:
Thanks! No, it's too early in production for a website or a promotional thread... :) I'll wait until I have a majority of the game finished...

Darth:
Yeah, I like that edit - Especially the ear! Your perspective skills are better than mine... Hehe... I'll see what I can come up with on my own...

#288
Argh, too much work at school prevented me from replying to this earlier... I whipped up a minor edit though, making his shoulders wider and removing the glitch again.

YOke:
Yeah, and his apartment is on the second floor, so... :)
Glad that you like it!

Phillip:
Aye, I think you may be right about that - I'll have to try and see if I can sort of twist his head a bit and make it look good... :) Thanks for commenting!
#289
Well, even though I doubt that anyone has the slightest idea where this is, I'll write it anyway...
- Medelpad, Sweden. Just west of Sundsvall.

Maybe Inkoddi knows where it is?
(Och du har så rätt i att Skrot-Nisse är grym! :) Hehe... Barndomsminnen, alltså...)

Original size:

"A master I will always be - Of all that is of me."

Ok, tiny, tiny edit - Fixed some small stuff... :)
I only did one glitch in the blinds, as I'm not really sure if it looks good, both with the light and the glitch itself...Ã,  Any further c&c?Ã,

Peter Thomas:
Ah, thanks, that's true. I'll work on that.
Glad to hear you like it, though. :)
#293
Ah, thanks for the comments and the appreciations! :)

Strazer:
The edit you made could be what I had in mind... I'll try and see if i can reproduce a similar effect...
I'll try and modify the proportions and the ear as well.

ArboriS:
Don't know about the window, It's not supposed to be a very big one,(Rather a small one in a small apartment) so I think I'll keep it the way it is.
And yeah, I know that mountains don't look like that, it's just my style... :) I think they look cool, but I can change them to look more realistic... Hehe...

Ali:
Aye, crivens, you are right... Didn't think of that... :) I'll fix it.

Dorcan:
No, he's supposed to just standing there, thinking, and gfeeling the warmth from the sun in his face - That's why I closed his eyes. (There will be a short monolouge during this scene, with him thinking, before the day ends.)

And while I wrote this, I had the time for a little edit, based on the above comments... Heh...Ã,

Critics' Lounge / Another cutscene-thingy...
Sun 30/05/2004 11:31:56
But alas, not an animated one, this time, I'm afraid...
This is just at the end of act/day 1, before the "day 2" animation comes in.
I'm mostly concerned about the way the light touches the character - Does it look correct? And of course, any other suggestions are as always welcome! (Proportions, shading, etc...)

Cheers!

First of all, I wanna say that this is a really nice style you've got going - Very Broken Sword-ish. Can't wait to see a full game from you... :)

The only critic I can think of in the last edit is that the back arm has a little glitch. When it swings forward it sort of jumps back too quickly.
Other than that, great work!

General Discussion / Re: Socialism
Thu 27/05/2004 14:11:21
Hm, interesting topic - As I am pretty much a "lefty" I can identify with socialism a lot, and I definately agree with it's main principles, in the way Marx wrote it.
Then on the other hand, I don't consider people like Stalin or Mao as "real" communists either, as one of the main things with communism is that all people should be on an equal basis. And as we all know, neither Stalin nor Mao were exactly on the same level as their people... They were dictators, no better than the likes of Hitler or Mussolini.Ã,

What I think is the main problem, is that far too many just blindly trusting the ideals that other people have written down. Ironically, I think that Marx himself said it best:
"All I know is that I'm not a Marxist..." & "Question everything."

Heh, agreed, it's not very fancy, but damn, I like this character... Incredibly funny animation! :)Ã,

Though I have to say that as a walking animation it looks rather odd - Try walking around like that and you will end up with a very sore groin.
The side view could work, but the front/back view need some work.

Critics' Lounge / Re: C&C: My first room

My main complaint would be the darkness of the picture, as both Scuthbert, Andail and Darth said.Ã,
And since this obviously is supposed to be a moonlit night, things are bound to be a bit lighter, so increasing the brightness on the ground/ruins, etc, and keeping the sky as it is, is one suggestion... (Because it is the moon and not the sun, right? :P)

Good luck!

Okeydokey, the results are here! A rather even race between KaaZ and Darth there, but in the end, the Darth-master got out with the victory!
Congrats to you, and thanks to all of the others who entered! Well done!

Feel free to lock this one and start a new one at will! :)

And just for the protocol:
4 votes for Kaaz, 7 for Darth.
