Yay - Nice to see so many replies!

Ashen:
Yeah, you have a point there, but I want them to stand out a bit, so I made the red very bright on purpose... :)
But thanks anyway!

Ghormak:
I had thoughts about that idea for a while, but you just convinced me to do it! :D I'll try to do a "fade-to-black"-ending in the last frame...
The blue one is also really creepy, though!

LGM:
Aye, that's true - I had some troubles getting that to look good... I could try to do it more like strokes with a brush, if that's what you mean? Like someone's painting with blood.

Smokealot:
I was thinking of doing it as a sprite in the game - Importing frame by frame.
'bout the eye-movement: True - I'll see if I can fix that...

Peter Thomas:
No, I can't say you've done that before... But you sure have now... ;)

Glad to hear that you like it. :)
Hm, yeah, I suppose I could work a bit more on the hair. Maybe make it a bit brighter?

Well, I've been a bit on the lazy side when it comes to making graphics lately, but now I've pulled myself together and slapped this little baby up for Trailing Blood. It's supposed to be an short cutscene for the beginning of Day 2, alá GK1, (Like I needed to even mention that...) and I think it's pretty nice so far.
But I also think I've been staring myself blind at it, and therefore I thought I'd post it here to hear if anyone's got any suggestions, critics or similar?

- Also, the original version of the girl was made by me, but edited by Loominous, just so that you know. I hope you don't mind me using your edited version of it - If that were to be the case, just tell me, man!

Yay! Discworld Noir!!1 Ali for president!
The kickassest of all these kickassy entries! :D
#325
That sounds like a great idea- I'd rather lose against some kickass entries than win against no entries at all... :)
So get going, y'all!

Hey, this looks like a very nice project - You've captured the CMI-style in your background very well, I'd say. Good luck with it!

I also took the liberty of editing/cleaning Scummbuddys Guybrush-sprite a bit... Just for fun. Use in any way you like... :)

General Discussion / Re:Seeking approval

Ah - Very nice topic, DG!

Me, I didn't have lots and lots friends in my own age when I was little, since I never went to daycare - My mother stayed at home and took care of me instead, which often forced me to entertain myself, by starting to read, draw, and generally just use my own imagination to create my own worlds inside my head. I kept to myself most of the time, and I suppose it's there my interest in "art"  started in a sense...
I'm not sure now, when looking back at it, if my parents encouraged me in drawing and doing all those things, but I still kept on doing those things.
Maybe not as a way of being accepted, more as a thing I always felt compelled to do, something that made me happy.

I think I have always been generally hungry for getting acclaim and approval, but never getting that response from your parents when you've done something you're really proud of can be really depressive. My mum and dad still frown when I try to tell them that this is something I really enjoy doing, and write it off as "something I'll outgrow"...
So sometimes I can try far too hard to get attention from people, by almost "pushing" my interests onto other people, sadly enough...
I suppose that's my way of getting acceptance, in a way...

Ok, I sent you the latest update now, so check your mail...
It includes the dialogues and my two pennies when it comes to the where/when-issue...
Hopefully it'll be of some use... :)
#329
Heh, I was a bit worried there again, that you'd let me go and did on your own... ;) Too bad to hear about the connection and the other problems - Hopefully it'll work out so we can get things going... Hehe...

Yeah, I get your point - Instead of giving out huge hunks of info at one point, we give small pieces at various places... :) Good idea.
I've also got some dialogues coming up right now, I'll write them down and then send them to you, ok?

Heh, thanks, kaaZ - I would have posted the original bg, but I can't the bloody game to work in XP, and on my old computer the game works, but the printscreen function is fucked up... :) Bah.

Hey, I've been wondering how long it would take for someone to do a Monty Python-related topic... :) Love the entries, DG, Ghormak & Custard...
But what about this one, eh?

So that's 172 cm and 54 kilos.

Hehe, DragonRose, you realize that we have about the same proportions? *nudge nudge* ;)

Woohoo - I really, really like this topic, kaaz! So, in other words, here's my contribution:

I hope everyone recognizes the Stone Circle from Discworld 2... Ahem...
And it's teh animated as well!111!

Hopefully there'll be more entries than in the last blitz... :)

Okeydokey, here goes...

#337
Heh, at least it was a stunning entry that I lost against... :) Congrats, kaaZ!
#338
Hm, this one's a bit overdue, isn't it? Too bad there wasn't more entries.
And I suppose you understand who gets my vote... :) Great bg, kaaZ!
#339
Oh shit, I don't know if I dare to show my first bg here... It wasn't that long ago, but it feels like ages... Damn, now I'm ashamed... But what the heck...

This one was supposed to be for a "The Young Ones"-based game, but let us say that it... Ehm, didn't go as well as I had planned...
Do note the fine examples of shading, colouring and perspective presented in this picture...  :)

Can't say anything about any of the games besides The Dig, which I really enjoyed. It looked good, the story and the atmosphere were all great as well. I've played games that was alot worse, and that I didn't even bother to finish.

I can live with some irritating puzzles and some plot holes if I can finish the game and still feel good about buying and playing it. And that's what I did.
