thats some pro editing ;)

Heh, sorry - I actually meant to write Dark Stalkey first, but then I wrote your name instead... :)
No offense, I agree with you as well...

And yeah, the person who wrote the petition could perhaps have been a bit more professional and less childish and "Pleeze make a sequel 'cos it rocks and stuff"-ish...

Hm, I think I'll just go off to join the LSA and forget all about this silly thing...  Cheerio...

Sure, sign me up - I haven't done anything creative in while, so I might as well play some games... ;) Hehe.

Kind of agree with DS here - Even though it would be nice to see another Grim Fandango, I doubt it could ever top the brilliance displayed in the original - Even with fancier graphics and great music. The risk is that it'll just be a cheap rip-off...

Besides, I'd rather not know what happened to Manny and Meche in the 9th Underworld... :)  I want to remain unknowing...

QuoteI'm not defending Rince here

Well, thank goodness for that - If you actually was defending anyone in court, it'd go down quicker than a metal ship full of shit.
Besides, being defended by the likes of you would only make me more eager to vomit than I already am.

QuoteGo eat a pint of Ice Cream from the carton and watch 'Queer eye for the Straight Guy'. Let's face it: you're not going to get laid tonight (not even by your own 'type') and being on the internet only seems to make your life more pathetic.

Hah - Well, what is it that says that you aren't just describing yourself now, Bob? Huh? Sitting alone in your empty room, sipping melted Pecan-Ice-cream out of a filthy glass while reading Oscar Wilde?
That "macho" american flag you have as an avatar is just an attempt to cover up that you infact are a little girly ass-kisser yourself, you sissy.

And also: Why should I eat ice-cream out of a pint, you moron?
I'll use a friggin bowl, like the rest of the world.

DG:

I just realized that you aren't from Polynese -  People over there at least have something more in their heads besides unlimited loads of shit - So I apologize to Polynese people everywhere, even though I still hate DG.

I think Yak is right - Most people here get along so well, that it feels wrong to insult them without any reason.

...Although, with that said, I should also say that it's one of the funniest threads I have ever read and participated in... Insults can be extremely amusing, if they are exaggerated and if you know they aren't meant to to be taken seriously...
So keep that flame burning, folks...

Oh - I'm girly, you say, Andail? Well, I'd say someone who feels sexually aroused by guys is pretty girly, wouldn't you agree? Now shut up, you horrible, filthy, smelly person, you! I don't want to hear another word of your stupid, perverted glob of shit coming out of that disgusting organ you call a mouth.
My god, I'd throw up already if I didn't know that it would remind me of you!

DG:
By quoting me without commenting, you just proved yourself to be what I always suspected you to be: A goddamned no-brained polynesian without the ability to critisize anything, with the exeption of the use of words like "Lame".
You probably like eating out of your laundry bag as well, you sick pervert!

Trap:
Man, you are a bloody snob, aren't you? You try to make us feel like you are so much higher above us all, don't you?
Well, I've got news for you, buster! You are probabaly the lowest of all low-lifed scum that frequent this friggin forum! A sick, introverted and blatantly retarted little figure sitting alone in your room making little sculptures out of chewed bread and broccoli. Don't you think we know that you have someone else to type for you? I hope they lock you up in a small, inconvenient room without any electricity for the rest of your life, so that we can get rid of all your bloody retarted comments which noone cares about anyway.

Now, I realize that most of you won't understand this, which I am about to say - And the reason that you don't understand what I'm saying is because you don't like it. Face it.

Now, this could be one of the most stupid discussions ever - You people are all behaving like the pathetic cretins you are. N00bie or oldbie - you all deserve to rot in hell as your eyeballs melt into a gobbery goo.
I spew on your fancy-pansy arguments (Which don't mean a thing to me - I don't even bother to read them in the first place.) and then piss on your fancy-pansy arguments' parents graves. Then I have a beer and piss some more, while I eat your mothers hamster and hammer nails in your fathers buttocks.

And DG: I hate CJ as much as anyone, but for crying out loud, that must be the absolute worst mockery photo I've ever seen! Come on - You don't expect us to be amused by it, do you? Please piss off to Polynesia or whatever that place you live is called.

To every other stupid individual participating in this thead except me:
Oh, god - Just sod off, the lot of you! FUCKING SOD OFF!
I hate you, I hate you, I hate you - Go away and die in a ditch somewhere, you bastards!

General Discussion / Re:Local bands?
Thu 02/10/2003 23:37:52
Ok, just to be a bumper and to "keep the underground movement alive" - I'll add Gravelgrinder to the list - If you found Dysdain a bit extreme, these guys'll probabaly make you puke.
Fast and uncompromizeing Grindcore/Death Metal-band consisting of only two members...
(If you are swedish, listen to "Vinterdikt" and try to hear the lyrics... You might find it quite amusing...)

Any more local talents you want to put in the spotlight?
- Write 'em here, folks.

Second that, Evil... Blimey, indeed...

Great Photoshopping, though, Eric. (And all the other entries as well)

Darth has my vote as well - Great job, man!

General Discussion / Local bands?
Wed 24/09/2003 18:54:19
Ah, right -

...Well, as a member of an "underground"-band myself, I have recently started to think about how many good, but unsigned bands there actually are out there - Bands that have no fat record contract or any sleazy manager.
Just in my local area where I live, there are several extremely talented and good bands that definately deserves some more attention, and I can imagine that there's a lot more of them around in the world...

Now, I thought that I could just place some links and descriptions to some of my favourite bands around here, and then if anyone feels like doing something similar... Hey presto - Write it here. If you feel like it, that is.

DYsDaIN
Perhaps nothing for those not interested in the more extreme metal-scene, but for people who are, this band is something above the rest.
Wierd, downtuned and technical riffs stands as a solid background for their two singers, one doing a more "traditional" death metal-growl, and the second one doing more high-pitched screams and also some "clean" vocals. Just to hear that odd contrast on tracks like "You vs. Me", "Armaghetto" and my favourite one - "Dread" - makes my day.
Go download their songs or buy their demo, becuase it's absolutely worth it.
And just to add a last comment - Possibly one of the best live-band I've ever seen as well. Pure Rock Fury, if i ever saw it...

The Grand Opening
And perhaps the total opposite of above mentioned Dysdain, we have The Grand Opening, a band who plays soft, melancolic pop/rock with vibes from both Red House Painters, Pedro The Lion and Neil Young. Personally I'm more fond of their older, quieter material, but new songs like "A Pair of Shoes" are also great. Check them out.

Volcanic
With sludgy riffs taken right out of the book of desert rockers Kyuss, Volcanic is a cool Stoner Rock-band that should please anyone interested in hard rock of the 70's with a bit of psychadelica in it...

Hollowhead
Now we're talking pure, agressive metal with a huge influence from Slayer among others, and with some very political lyrics. I still think they could use a better singer, but they are a very promising band none the less.

The High-Heeled Honeys
60's Rock meets 70's Punk? Yep, I think that's the best way of descibing HHH - With only two members and a limited number of chords they rock on, furiously and with the energy of a rabid bulldozer gone berzerk - But not without losing the sense of melody.
Kickass, to say the least.

Well, there - Wasn't that nice?
Now start supporting your local bands! Yarr.

General Discussion / Re:I bought a few games
Sun 21/09/2003 16:28:39
Now, I haven't played either Crime Scene Investigation or Syberia, but I have played GF, perhaps far too much, and I can safely say that YES - It is good! :)

Grim Fandango is probably one of the few games that has actually made me truly unhappy when finishing it. Not because I disliked it, or because it was a bad ending or something like that - I was because (And I know a lot of others feel like this as well) I had become so attached to the characters that I indeed felt sad when I realized that it was over. There was no more game to play. No more Manny, no more Meche, no more Glottis. That just gave me an empty feeling, a feeling which I usually don't get when finishing a game.  I still to this day, perhaps two years since finsihing the game for the first time, can't really put my finger on exactly what it was that did such an impact on me.

To conclude my geeky, emotional, caffeine ramblings - Grim Fandango is one hell of a game - Play it or be a rectangular thynge.

Wow, I really like this style - (Reminds me a bit of Pirate Fry, actually... :) )
Am I totally wrong if I guess that you used DXPaint for these?

As for critisism, one thing that bothers me is the pinetree in the first picture - The lack of outlines almost makes it blend into the grass. Try and doing some darker outlines for it, and I think it'll look better.
Also, the vines on the wall is a wee bit to bright - But besides that the pictures are great.

But I definately think you should continue on the project - Good luck!

Not the best background ever made, but I just felt I had to enter this blitz.
Cool entries so far!

Arr, blasted be all of ye who does dare not to speak the foul-mouthed language of the ocean, the pirates and the buccaneers! Curse and tarnation to ye, me say!

Yarr!
Yarr, ye hear me?
Yarr-o-argh times 3!

Twisted tentacles and pancake stew in me buttocks - Me thinks someone be wantin' me now - I'll leave, for now, laddies.

Arrgh.

...Right, was that OK? How did I do? Do I get the part?
#516
Arr, good to have ye on the team, Yufster! Yarr.
I've just recieved both the newly updated list and the ASSignments - Woohoo - I'll get right into it...  :)

But I have never really bothered to even get IRC, so I'm afraid I won't be there very often... In fact, I probably won't be there at all...
Maybe about bloody time I downloaded it, right?

...What can I say? Amazing. God damn amazing.
Promise you'll give us more of this stuff, man - And um... Perhaps a tutorial?

That second picture reminded me about Beneath A Steel Sky, btw - Cool!

Hm, yes, it's all I've been able to watch on the TV today - All other programs are canceled due to her death.
Even though I'm not really pro-euro(I'm very, very confused - I find both sides to have good points), it's always sad to see someone so concerned for peace and equality being killed like that. (Just like Palme, that was, as mentioned earlier, also a great loss for the democratic society.)

All in all, it's been a really black day for Sweden today - Not only was Anna Lindh killed, but also has a 16-year old girl, who has been missing for some days now, been found dead (Pretty close to where I live, as well) and a five year-old kid has been stabbed to death by a psychically disturbed man...  Shit...

I too am starting to wonder where the heck the world is coming to...
#519
I agree with Dave - DWN had a great notebook system, I love the way that you could just use a clue that you had written down and then use it on something around you to get different responses and comments. Sometimes they were helpful, other times just funny.

And yes, it is impossible for me to run it under XP as well - How do you do it, Remixor? (Heck, I can't even get the game to start...)
#520
Yeah, Pleurghburg(Plurgburg, indeed.) has some terrific music - It really sets the mood for the entire game. (I actually got more frightened out of just hearing those tunes than playing major parts of GK2... Hehe.)

But shit, DarkStalkey's Byzantine is a real close runner up - That score also gave me the creeps - In a good way, of course.
