GarageGothic, I've been waiting for this thread for a very long time now... All I can say is that Shadowplay looks like it's going to be terrific game. Great of you to use the GK1 Dialog-GUI as well!  Really looking forward to play it.

Awesome, man! Apprentice is one of the best AGS-games I've ever played, so don't you disappoint us with the sequel, eh? ;)
Good luck!

Aye, Punch - That's really cool! If only I had a original copy of DW1... I've been looking for it for ages.
And great quotes as well!

Here's some more from DW1 & DW2:

(at the player, after clicking on Rincewind)
"That's it, now I'll turn you into an ugly toad!"
*Rincewind shuts up, and then looks at the screen*
"Gosh, it worked!"

"You know what they say - Diamonds are forever, but oranges are for halftime."

Ooh, is this where I get to quote a lot of dialogue from Discworld 2? Is it?
Really? Great!

"Rincewind: Homo Sapiens Sorcerus. Irritabilus. In reality, I'm a full foot taller, bronzed, and rippling with muscles, but it's been a hard day for the artist."

"Greetings to you, my good man! And who might you be?"
"Duh, eh... Who?"
"You - I''m asking you what your name is - Who - Are - You?"
"Uh... I'm fine, thank you..."
"Amazing, isn't it? In any other city, he'd be mayor by now."

"Brilliant - He can't tie his shoes, but he can classify micro-organisms. There's one for the educational system."

"A hammerheaded shark. They're called that, because they have a head shaped like a hammer. There, now you can say use your computer for educational purposes."

"Um, did I tell you the one about "carrion baggage", sir?"
"Afraid so."
"Oh well - Can't win 'em all. Or any of them, come to think of it."

"Look, why don't you just go out and fetch all this stuff yourself?"
"Nah, mate! I mean, who would go out on a quest - Set by stupid and ungrateful people, eh?"
"Yes, you'd have to be some kind of idiot, hadn't you..."

"It's like - You've got an animal inside this box - Except,  it's a cat."
"The box is a cat?"
"Yeah, and sometimes it's just... ...dead! Oh, man you just got to climb into that thing yourself and go for a ride!"

"A vampire, drinking a Bloody Mary - With appearently not much Mary in it."

"Ooh, a pot full of honey! - I do so love sticky stuff!"

(*Rincewind sneaks a peek into his lifebook, expecting to see what happens next*)
"Hm... I'll just sneak a peek... Let's see: "Rincewind sneaks a peak into his book of life, expecting to see what happens next." "

As you might tell, DW2 means a lot to me... ;) My very first adventure game, to be exact. And even though it must be one of the games I have finished more than any other, I can still play it and roar of laughter at the jokes - They just never get boring to me!  And Discworld Noir is also incredibly good - Darker, more grim, but still loaded with clever jokes and great dialogues...

Hehe, I actually made the skin that colour on purpose, because I liked the way it looked... But you are right, it is too purple/blue-ish for a normal skin colour.

Hm... Ok,  I'll try to make the shadows less detailed....

Thanks for commenting!
#526
Ah, maybe so - I'll try adjusting it a bit.

Ok, if some of you can remember, I posted my first, rather feeble attempt at tracing a photo a while ago, and as I look back on it now, I realize that a lot of the stuff I did looks really bad...
So, therefore, as a way of improving my skills, I did a new tracing of another photo, (Of the same girl, though...) and personally I think it looks better than last time.

What do you say? As always, I value c&c more than anything!

And, btw - Those brownish-gray spots on her lips and sweater aren't supposed to be there, it's the .gif compression doing that...
#528
Heh, just received your mail - Kickass, Snake.
I'll unzip it and dive right into it at once! Whee! ;D
#529
Oh, nice pictures - The background looks excellent, and I can't really comment on anything, but the character could perhaps use some changes. Instead of just having his hair move while he walks, try moving his head up and down as well, to create a "bobbing" movement.

But as I said, great stuff! Don't be afraid to show us more of your art.

Heh, Thanks Earlwood - I'm working very hard on this game, and I won't even start importing backgrounds into AGS before I have the exact plot finished... So it'll probably take a while...
The table looks wierd? Could you be more precise?

EDIT:

OK, here's the latest update - Nothing else that could be fixed to make it look better?

Ok, here's the updated version, finally - Still some tweaking before I'm completely satisfied, but I'm starting to feel rather content with it as it is. (Although I am aware that the temporary black blocks at the bottom of the screen looks akward, I will take care of them later... Don't worry... :) )

Well, I haven't met any extreme celebrities, but those that I have met are these:

Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman - At a book-signing in Gothenburg. One of the most nervous moments in my life. But he was there, cowboy hat and all...

Mort Walker - At the same exhibition as Terry and Neil. I feel rather lucky to have gotten his autograph, seeing as the man is getting really old, and might pass away soon. And also, being a huge Beetle Bailey fan since I was a child, it was a cool feeling to finally get to see and talk to the man who had created all those fine memories of my early, comic-reading years...

Hehe, and that's about it... :)

Cozy, eh? ;D
I think I might continue editing this background and use it sometime... I like it, strangely enough...

Ravenfusion:
That's ok. :)
Yeah, I've got this character, but it's the only one so far.

I think it'll go pretty nice with the backgrounds, or what do you think?

Erwin:
A table? Great idea! I was just looking for some things to add to picture, and you just gave one... ;) I'll try to work on the walls as well - I can agree that it looks a bit boring right now.

agsking:
Aye, I know. I've fixed that now - There's way less space than in the first version now, but I added a just little more, because Loominous took a bit too much... Hehe.
I'll be adding a table, and I've already done some foreground shadows alá DoTT, but I'll be twiddling with them for a while until I get them right...

Gonzo:
Thanks. The details are a big deal, so I might just take you up on doing some rings on some books.

Oh yeah, I saw that one before. Great job, but isn't it the wrong thread?
Or am I missing something?
Yarr.
#537
Agreed. The last update is incredible, Darth! All those details on Boba Fetts ship... Just great... I played the demo and liked it, but now I know I'm going to enjoy the full game even more...

Aha, I got to answer some replies, I see...

Wanderlady:
Yep, that's supposed to be a staircase. I don't know if I succeeded, though... :)
And those are paintings, not windows.
Glad you like the signs. I've done a new version with more "wooden" signs, but I didn't really like it. I'll probabaly stick to the orginal colours.

Ravenfusion:
Heh, who can tell?

m0ds:
Thanks! I'm glad you like it, man!

Loominous:
Hey, that looks a lot better! As m0ds says, it's a lot more realistic. The books and the paintings may have gotten a bit too dark, but I can fix that... I'll use your modified picture as an reference. Thanks a bunch! ;D

Ginny:
Heh, another sign-lover - Great! ;)
And nope, that door is connected to a doorframe as all other doors... Hehe. Glad you like it.

Highwaygal:
Don't worry, you are absolutely correct...

Ok, I'm off now to try to improve it a little more, so I'll post a new version soon...
No worries, eh?

Thanks for the answers, guys!

Minimi:
You may be right about the signs - I'll try matching the colour of the signs a bit better and see how it looks. I just did it becuase the library in my old school used to have those kind of white signs on top of every shelf... Hehe.

N3TGRaph:
Me? Love signs? Oh yes.  Very much. ;)
But BeeGee? Now I'm not following you. I'm not into Disco-music.

misterx:
Heh, thanks. I may have overdone the green a bit...

Heh, 27%. Fancy that. I'm a bit less gay than the average hetero man, appearently...
