Very nice, Scummbuddy!
I'd keep the blue background and the black font if I was you, but the font used to form "AGS" doesn't really look right.
Great work anyway!

Undergroundling sent me his character to see if i could make it fit better with the bg - I hope you like it.
I toyed around a little, and tried to remove all black outlines, but the hair and his shoes were a bit tricky...

I'm not 100% about the result - I could easily just do the backgrounds differently if you're not satisfied with the outcome. (I mean, it is your game, after all... ;D )

Slamgrinder:
Hadn't thought of that, actually, but you're probably right.
Easy to fix, though... ;D

Synthetique:
Well, maybe they don't want theit gates to be shut? They want visitors all the time? Hehe... No, just kidding. I'll make it less wide.

Thanks, once again!

General Discussion / Re:Halo 2 !!!

I can actually think of some fps's that are really good:

Outlaws - My favourite.  The western setting is great, and besides - You can find Max in it! Joy!

Redneck Rampage - How can you go wrong with two hillybillies that slaughters Aliens in the search for their kidnapped pig?

Shadow Warrior - "Swim, swim, hungry! Stupid fish..."...

As you can see, I'm kinda fond of the older ones... ;D

Argh... I feel a bit robbed - I haven't even got an "Adapter" page!
Maybe it's because we have different XP-versions? I'm using Home version - You use Professional, right?

A quick touch-up. Removed the smoke from the chimney, changed the gate slightly and tried to make the poles look more like poles... (They still look funny at some places, but I'll change that too...)

Hehe, I agree - Very nifty characters!

Hm... That hadn't really appeared to me until now... Drats.

Luckily, I haven't started drawing any real backgrounds for the game yet, so I could easily include black outlines in my bg's if that would make it looks better. (Even though I prefer the no-outline look myself... ;D )

Aussie:
Thanks a lot, man! I'll see if I can fix it up... ;D

Danny:
Thanks!

Hobbes, I assume you mean under "Display", "Settings" and then "Advanced..."-button, right? Or am I searching in the wrong place?

Sorry, DarkStalkey, but the links aren't working for me.
And I really wanted to play The Journey Home... Darn.

Thanks!

MrMasse:
You're not supposed to read the sign - It's only jibberish...
Hm, yeah, I've noticed something about the gate myself, but I really can't put my finger on it...

Scummbuddy:
I probably won't use this background in a game, but you are very right anyway. If I decide to use it in a game, I will remove the smoke, for sure...  ;D

Critics' Lounge / Fantasy-themed background...
Mon 16/06/2003 21:19:46
Ok, I really just made this background for undergroundling, to show what my art looked like, but I really liked it somehow, so I figured I'd post  it here for some c&c, so that I can make it even better...

Thanks, Archangel - I'll give it a shot.

About the GUI:
It wouldn't surprise me if I had done it wrong... I'll try out Proskritos template first, though.

Ok, this was how I meant - I have the npc in room -1 from the beginning, but I want him to be moved from room -1 to another room later on. This is my problem. He doesn't appear in the room when he is supposed to. Is it impossible to move a character to move from room -1 to another, "real" room? Or am I just doing something wrong?

I actually downloaded his latest template, but I haven't had time to test  it yet. I will take a look, though... It sounds great to me.

Ah, I imagined it might be pretty simple, but I thought it was better to ask anyway, before trying anything myself... ;D

Thanks alot!

Ok, I've desperately been trying to solve these problems myself, just by reading the manual and experimenting, but now it feels like I'm totally stuck...

- First of all, I am having trouble with this NPC that won't move to another room. I have it placed in room -1 from the start, and when you look at  a  certain hotspot later in the game, it's supposed to move to that specific room. I just used the "move NPC to different room"-command in the editor, but nothing happens, and the NPC doesn't turn up.

- Secondly, my LEC-GUI is also not working as it should, even though I copied the code straight from Demo Quest. "Give to" isn't working at all, and the cykling cursor-mode is still on. Anyone have the correct script for this?

- Then I had this idea that was wondering if it could be done:
In the  end of my game I'm thinking of having a MI2-style shooting-puzzle(Like when Wally and Guybrush is tied up in the dungeon, and you have to spit you way out) where you throw an object at a certain hotspot it goes in one certain way, and if you throw it at another one, it goes another way... Or something like that, anyway... Could it be done?

Grateful for any help I can get... ;D

Hey, Merciless, that actually looks really good.
I would try working on the ground some more, the shading looks a bit wierd as it is now.
And maybe you could build some lanterns around those spots of lights? ;D
Oh, and perhaps add some clouds to the sky, since it looks a bit too bare as it is now.

Kepp on working, man!

Hehe - Makri, that one was really good(and so very true to life...)! Made me laugh for sure... ;D

Well, I'm no expert in drawing, but I'd love to do some fantasy-inspired backgrounds for a humourous game... Just Instant Message me.
