i have played all 8 games, and I'm impressed how many different approaches were made in this competition,
thats makes it unique and should never be restricted with themes or rigorous gidelines.
So I'm sad, that i didnt had enough time this week to enter with another approach,- maybe next time.
i enjoyed all 8 games except "illusions", wich seems to be a pixel hunt an not very couraged graphical art.
only on game use the new rule, of making more then one room, what is understandable cause its nearly impossible to make a good concept for 1 room in 1 week.

overall i like most:
24Hours - > my favorite (cool role playing elements, with puzzels who are not very difficult and amazingly merged with the game progress, also the graphics are very good) - head offÃ,  :)
Bad Luck -> (Great animations, good humor, standard 1 room approach)
Tomb of the moon (technical top, very good intuitive interface, game in game, indy flair)

nostalgic c64 feelings:
blackmail in brooklyn (was very much fun, but need a bit more finetuning with the controls)
Spacemaze (not really a game)

very unique atmosphere:
heart of abraxas - (havent explored more then 2 hotspots so far)

standard 1 room game:
locked - (was fun)

only game, with more rooms:
science - (havent spend enough time, to say much about this)

dont like:
illusion - (no reactions on player inputs or hotspots without descriptions, bad graphic)

thanks to all developers, was a lot of fun to sneak throw this games. ;D

maybe a little bug:
i made a template from an existing game in 2.71 with music and speech files in the new folders.
if i use this template the music and speech folders are empty and the soundfiles are gone.

if i copy the soundfiles in the standard directory -
i get this messages

AGS Editor

AGS now uses a 'Speech' folder to read your speech files from. This is to help cut down the clutter in your main game folder. Your existing speech files will now be moved.

I might enter... if I have enough spare time.

same here

cant download your entry.
get -> File not found!

havent worked with AGAST so far, but with AGS and Wintermute.
IMO use AGS for hand-drawn games with resolution not higher as 640x480.
Wintermute for high resolution and rendered games.

hi holly,

this is the (language) procedure for all AGS - Games

start winsetup.exe
Under Language -> Game Language -> choose Englisch
Start the game

if this option is not available you must download the game again, cause the
translation is only in the last version available.
but i guess you have the latest one.

hi
rocco...
I `d rather one person or a team take over the project ....
Reason for this is i`d love to see this as i`d intended it to be.

hi foz,

i unterstand that very well.
wish you the best for your job.
hope we see more foz games in the future.  :)

make it open source

if you familiar with the german language you can play them all -> http://maniacmansion.microspace.ch/episoden/staffel1.shtml
there are currently 34 episodes finished,
what is amazing cause the project started in march.
the problem is, most of them are not translated to englisch.
i guess only 5 episodes have been translated.
it took 4 months to translate this episode, cause I'm not able to
translate it by myself, and its a lot of work.

thanks to all, for playing this gameÃ,  ;D
and sorry for the difficulty, but my first game was to easy.
So i tryed to make this one harder and not to relate on myself, cause im a
very poor adventure player, and never will get through an game like this
without help.

I dont know if someone had explored, that theres an alternative ending.
i must admit that this second ending dont suits to bernard, cause normally
he would never do such a thing.
at least not in the original maniac mansion.
In DOTT he is not so reserved, and put the hamster in the ice-box for a long timeÃ,  :).
i guess you know what i mean.
sorry for the violence, but there is this hamster and .....

theres also multiple solutions for some puzzles.
you can heat the jug in the microwave instead of the campfire.
you can use either the moos from the vaccum or the branch for the mixture.

hope you enjoyed the game.
greets
rocco

Thx for the comments :-), and sorry for the bugs.
i thought i eliminated all of this species.

i have ideas for at least 3 other mmm games,
but currently im working on a (dont know if i can say that here ;-)
render adventure -> http://www.virtual-illusion.com/games/offline/mystic_triddle/
with wintermute.
the demo must be finished in about 2 months, and then im willing to start another mmm episode.

#298
Its done, after 4 months of hard translation work, mainly accomplished by Chris Pettett and Hansa_export
the translation is finished for episode 9 of MMM.

heres the entry : http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=614

after the critcs to my first game -> too easy,
i guess this one is rather difficult, but with knowledge from the original maniac mansion
it should be not much problem.
So i hope you enjoy the game.   :)

Latest Version: 1.06
Translation: Englisch, German, Spain, French

we should establish a new categorie - experimental art
which fits some games more precisely then the traditionell categories.

grats to all,
a little bit curious -
best puzzles -> ballon face
maybe i played the wrong game, cause in my version
there was a lot of dialog, but no (mentionable) puzzles
