It looks like the stoner from Cabin in the Woods... but I do not remember a film real in the movie. This is likely not him (too lazy to check IMDB to see what he looks like).
Edit: That's my guess btw.. just in case it happens to be right, which I'm likely not. I did actually check IMDB and he happens to be wearing the same clothing... so who knows.

Would it be possible to have the AGS Panel cup rating in this list as well? I wanted to help rate a few of these, I just want to make sure I play the games that haven't been rated by the panel yet. Two birds, one stone.

Edit: There was also an argument ages ago about people complaining about the AGS Panel ratings vs User ratings. Quite a few wanted to be able to sort the games by user rating. A column realignment would be required. I'd love to see the orange cups side by side with the blue cups (perhaps a smaller cup graphic is needed).

She wants me to tell all the men here that this is a very good movie and you should all watch it with that special woman in your life.
Bah. I watch chick flick movies from time to time (I try to watch almost any movie except for bad movies.. example of bad: the new Dredd movie, or anything of the sort - I can't get over how terrible that movie was).

I actually enjoyed this movie quite a bit. I even watched it again a couple weeks ago just because it was a few years since I last saw it. I even cried at the end. :-D haha

I haven't had a chance to read through this thread, so I'm going to assume no one has mentioned this yet.

I don't like how the nominations work with the top 5 per vote total. So if the majority of the people who nominate never actually played any game BUT Resonance, it sways the votes quite a bit. Many single nominations towards the overly popular game will kick out any chance the less popular game has (even if the less popular game is more deserving - it just wasn't played by many).

It's almost as though there should be a "I've played this game" checkbox which is used to calculate the weight of all nominations. I certainly don't play every game in the database when I nominate. No one does. There's always that gem that hasn't gotten popular yet. It's definitely not a very solid system that we currently have.

Edit: Basically if the less popular game was played by 100 people and nominated by 50, it should be higher up the nomination list than Resonance - which was played by 200 people and nominated by 55 (random figures).

Of course you'd have to add a better formula. You wouldn't want a game played by 5 people and nominated by 4 to beat Resonance (which it would if the system wasn't designed properly).

Browsing the forum with my phone and noticed the Moving Thread somehow took its name literally and moved to the RON forum? Lol One of the mods browsing the forum while drunk again? ;)

Moving Thread!

I got a new job in February, as a laborer in a forging department of an auto parts factory. I haven't been there for a month yet and I was suddenly told I will be going to Michigan for 4 days for training at the sister company (from Ontario to Michigan - like 5 hour trip). It's unbelievably surreal. I can understand if I was a team leader, department manager or quality control manager, but I'm just a laborer. Where I work there's a 3 month probation where they can fire me at any point for any reason, so it seems odd to take that kind of a risk on an employee who's only been there for 3 weeks. I asked the one team leader and he said the manager just likes me and sees something promising in me.

I'll have a company car for the journey and $50 a day for food. This is awesome. I'm glad my passport was in order or I would've missed this opportunity - I had only a weeks notice.

My brother stopped smoking for maybe a year. Then he got a new job and started getting that smoking urge again. He decided to look into the ecigs to "ease" the urge. It certainly stopped him from smoking while he had the ecigs, but then after a month his unit started leaking and put him into hard withdrawal (probably because he puffed back too much nicotine with the ecigs, likely more than he would with a real cigarette). Now he's back to smoking again.

Would I recommend them? I'd probably recommend them to person who can't shake smoking, so may as well take up the ecig as it's much healthier. But I definitely wouldn't recommend it to someone who stopped smoking and wants to try them because they're getting the urge to smoke again.

I've never been a smoker and I puffed back on it once. It actually made me cough. Odd.

I'll be impressed if this system works exactly as Icey wants it. It's very hard to make a battle system for someone without every single detail. Like what does a certain player have a weakness to? Ice elements and Wind? And he has a strong defense against Fire. Etc. The system would need to be designed for this (or modulated enough to allow for a later addition). Also where the enemy/player is strong or weak against a certain weapon, not just magic.

Good luck, Snarky. This is something I've wanted to do for him for ages, I just never got around to it (and I probably never would've haha).

Anyway, I've now got the top image back in at last, and that links to the main site.  I even put the collapse element button back in for anyone who thinks the logo is making their screen too long for comfort.

Can we change the URL to be linked to the image only instead of the whole div? Especially when you want to click the expand/shrink arrow and miss it slightly, or when I just missed the Home button now and it took me to the main page.

Also in Chrome with the compact layout, the bottom pixel of the image covers the blue line above the navigation bar.

Thanks.

Nah. It likely wasn't me. But I do have an odd sense humor which can easily be read as rude or obnoxious.

I sent him a PM months ago that he never responded to, so it made me wonder. Which is mostly why I was possibly joking or serious about it being me.

I'm on this forum nearly every day and it's killing me that I don't understand what's going on there. Who offended Monkey?
(it was me)

(actually, I don't doubt that it was me)

Holy hell. He'd have to be so drunk as to not even remember this in the morning. There's no other way he could've been this bad at parallel parking, like come on! I can see "bumping" into a bumper while drunk as hell, but this is much beyond that. I'd have to be so drunk that I can't even walk to do this kind of damage.

Edit: And I've driven cars in GTA4 while smashed and probably drove better! (probably not)

I miss the old Monkey posts about girls he's interested in and such.

Thanks for the responses guys. I've been a little busy in the past week with a job interview and aptitude testing and such (I got the job), so I haven't even touched modeling since I posted this.

Believe it or not, I'm actually rethinking about my model design completely. I might not even have eyes or mouths at all. But, I'm not quite sure yet. If I do decide to have a mouth, it'll likely just be a sprite decal (whatever that's called) that cycles through the texture sheet for the correct smile, frown, or mouth movement, etc. Likely the same for the eyes. However easy or hard that is in Unity3D. That's what I should likely search for before deciding to change my model design ideas.

I'm mostly just playing around at the moment, trying to learn some new techniques and see where they take me. I'm currently playing around with a game concept, doing a few test models of low-ish polygon humans. I was currently working on the face when I wondered what professionals do in a situation where they want eyes to blink or look around.

I was first looking into making spherical eyeballs and having a rigging system to make them look around, also with moving eyelids. But my characters don't need to be fully realistic as they're in a kind of low polygon and flat cartoon color style.

So my question is: what's easier for me as the programmer and modeler? An eye rigging system with spherical eye with functioning eyelids, or some kind of texturing thing. Where you move the texture sheet around to move the pupil, or to have him blink (I haven't a clue what this is called - so I haven't found much with a Google search).

Thanks guys!

Edit: Sorry, forgot to mention. It's for Unity3D and not AGS or anything unsupportive of bones and rigs.

I currently use libGDX as my framework of choice.
I was using it for quite a bit. The limitations for me were the low documentation on some of the things that I needed (I'm still learning and all). Overall it was pretty easy to use. I had the basics of a game up and running in only a few hours. XNA was pretty cool too.

But I'm starting to enjoy the comfort and ease of an engine so I've been playing around with Unity 3D, which is also pretty sweet.

Does anyone know what the next-gen Xbox will be using?

I apparently have the same database error while viewing profiles. Perhaps it has something to do with the Ratings Panel - since it's what we both have in common.

Just in case (it seems to be a forum issue and nothing browser related.. but), I'm using Chrome 24.0.1312.57 m. The only extension running is Chrome to Phone.
