The. French.

Trying to cycle around this city is like buying a ticket on a sexy new life or death lottery, only everybody loses.

Not much is happening with the Olympic money in the East end. A few tube stations are getting painted. But so far, its pretty much the same.

General Discussion / Re: Twitter

150 years ago, novels were considered racy and frivolous, even frowned upon. It is only with hindsight that we can see how important a step they were in literature.

Oh, and as an aside, language seems to be moving in cycles. When paper was expensive, playwrights and authors would abbreviate their writing, to save money. "you" to "u" and so on.

Peculiar that abbreviating writing is such a cause of consternation.

Some of you may remember me doing this website in a few different iterations. Im trying to not make it look "web 2.0" but i want it to look clean, modern and stylish, as well as looking a bit trendy.

I like the general direction but it might be a bit boring?

(this is as a replacement for the website of a radio station, current site being http://www.livewire1350.com/ )

Not at all, just thought it was a nice coincidence, i didn't design the logo!

(No more off topic, I promise)

not sure if this is a coinicidence of two people finding the same stock image, but your logo looks alot like the logo for a charity i did some work for last year!

In his defence, Boyds post was hardly incendiary, he just called you out for spoiling a joke.

Thicker skin perhaps, no need to be so reactionary.

Going out on a wildly flailing limb, but Dmitry Medvedev?

He's not very charismatic though..

Interesting that this thread seems to have sparked more useless threads..

I like the 3d version. Did the old thread fall into a vortex?
#93
Where'd it go?
#94
Even from the wii version?

That sucks.

could he not hire new staff for the new game? Perhaps I've missed understood but I thought he was hiring on a per-game basis as opposed to keeping a team together full time.

Lol yeah I see what you mean. Well I hope one day they'll make another broken sword, unlikely as it may seem.

why is that unlikely? There was a 3 year gap between 3 and 4, so that puts the development cycle starting about now, doesn't it?

Is this DS version the same as was on the gameboy? or is it a whole new game?

The ironic thing is that the English are supposed to speak "proper English," as opposed the the wretched, bastardized "Amerikaanized Engrish." It's really quite interesting that the English do this. :=

I'm not sure i'd interpret it as a mistake. If we are supposed to speak proper english (which we do  ;)) then surely people who DON'T do it are making the mistake.

Not wanting to start ANOTHER of these threads, i thought i'd hijack this one.

My laptop is a year old, and is running fine. However, I connect to the internet using a LAN cable. Also fine.

When this LAN cable is unplugged, my touchpad mouse starts acting all wonky, permanently clicking, not responding. THe only way to solve this seems to be plugging back in the LAN, or a USB optical mouse.

My AVG brings up no viruses, and I can't seem to find the right string to type into google to get any helpful results. Has anyone heard of a virus that can do this? Is my hardware dying? I don't want to believe this since it runs fine, as long as the LAN is connected.

Any ideas?

(Laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L40 running Vista Home Premium, dual core processor, 2 gig of ram)

I personally pronounce it Oh-baa-mah.

I don't know how posh you'd say I am, but my voice is on the AGS podcasts if you want to gauge it.

Perhaps he is a troll for the viral generation.
