Hints & Tips / Re: Broken Windows-chapter 3
Fri 26/03/2021 17:01:33
Lord no!  I only clicked on it in a general spot & it told me we weren’t ready to leave.  I obviously need to look more carefully!  🤦🏼‍♀️

Thanks!

I’m not very far into the game, but the humor is already one of my favorite things about itâ€"just like in the previous installments.  Geoff is obviously Keith part deaux, lol.

I put a question in the hints & tips forum...apologies in advance if it’s something obvious that I’m missing...

Hints & Tips / Broken Windows-chapter 3

Hello!  I’d love to say I’m almost through the entire game & just need help with one last thing at the end...but that’d be a lie.  Lol.

Spoiler
So, I’m at the car mechanic place.  I’ve gotten into the gate with my keycard and retrieved anything I can out of the trash bin.  However, I can’t find fuel (or whatever it’s called) for the jack, nor can I get into the ajar window (I’m assuming I need the jack for that).  I can’t walk down the street to look around, Geoff is of course no help...what am I forgetting or missing?

It’s probably something obvious.  But I’m gonna ask for help anyway.  😬

I know EXACTLY what I’m doing tomorrow on my day off now (happy dance)!

Just downloaded this morning, didn't even know it was out!  I've been looking forward to this one for some time.  I've played through the first chapter and I'm seeing where this (maybe) is going, and it makes me excited to see it through.  It's more of a story rather than puzzle-solving so far, which is right up my alley.  I've actually played through the 1st storyline twice, which I recommend doing.

The pixel artwork is beautiful, and from what I've seen so far, the writing is SO good.  That can make or break the entire experience, more than anything else for me.  I know there has been so much praise already for this game that what I'm writing here is practically redundant, but just had to add my comments too.  All the praise (and then some) is well deserved.

Gotta go finish the other chapters now...GREAT, great game.

Ok, edit:
Spoiler
Just finished it!  What a trip man, literally and figuratively!  That ending was equally tragic, creepy, and even a bit funny.  I loved EVERY minute of playing, truly.

...Did anyone else besides me get ghost pirate LeChuck vibes from the "Head Demonic Death Manager" train guy?  Lol!

If you guys don't continue making other games after this one, it'd truly be tragic.  What incredible talent.  I know you're trying to get the game on Steam, and I'd pay money to play it, even though it's not very long.  Seriously.

This is such a neat little game, and I'm not even done with it...I've never watched M.A.S.H. but I'd always hear the theme song in the background at 10 pm when I knew it was time to go to bed as a kid.  Being in the medical field myself (albeit not military) I'll definitely check the show out now.  I know it has a cult following, and I can get a clear sense of each individual character just from the first few minutes of playing and interacting with each of them.  The graphics are awesome.  I know it's not a long game, but I'm looking forward to hopefully being able to complete it.

(Selmiak, where's your YouTube walkthrough?  ;))

Hey!  This looks really good, I’ll check it out!  Good luck completing the 1st part, I’ll be looking forward to playing it...

Oh, I have been very excited for this one.  I’m sure it’s difficult to decide where/how/if to make it commercial, but I can tell you that I for one, would buy it no matter where you sell or or for what price.  It looks AMAZING.  Keep up the great work!!

Wow!  Great game!  I really enjoyed it.  And that ending...unexpected!  ......possible sequel?  :)

Thank you for making it.  It was very well done and I can't say enough good things about it.

Wow, thank you!

Spoiler
I never, ever would have thought to shoot the car.  Maybe it should have been obvious, but never even crossed my mind to try.

But--how do you get the tattoo artist to tattoo you?  The biker dude won't finish up & leave.  I've tried to mess with his bike, or show the tattooist my photo of the green goat, but nothing's working.  What am I missing?  And I don't mind major spoilers, just fyi...  ;)

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks guys!  That helped me progress a lot further.  Here's where I'm at now:

Spoiler
  I was able to get the voodoo stuff (I forget the name of it) to put into the cop's coffee at the hospital so I could enter room 402;
I was able to get into the museum (WOW, a ton of neat stories & info) and look around;
At the lot, it looks like I need some kind of shovel to dig for something?
Leroy's house--I spoke to him regarding the gang and the melting green goat tattoo that I need to look for (or get tattooed on myself maybe?  I obviously need to pose as someone else so I can get past the lookout thug)

I have (among the usual stuff):  rope, polaroid camera, museum key, plunger, gun (that combines with the pillow, apparently), and the signal I knocked down from the pole (that combines with the police tape).

Sorry so long, but any idea where I go from here?  I love this game...I need to find out how it ends!  :)

Oh!  Thank you--I hadn't done either of those things, so that will definitely help me move forward for now.  ;)

So:
Spoiler
by "fill the bottle", you mean with the gross brown stuff from the sink in the bar's bathroom, right?

I have the following screens:  Morris's house, Bar, Bookstore, and Leroy's house.  I'm assuming that since there are 30+ screens in this game that I have pretty far to go still!

I'm having an issue where I'm just plain ol' stuck no matter what I try to do.

Spoiler
I just got Mike (the cameraman) out of the bar by paying his tab, and now I'm at a standstill.  None of the news crew is of any help going forward.  I'm pretty sure I need to get the journalist's badge from him (for a fake ID) to show to the store owner, but how?  And maybe a few tips moving forward from that would be great too--I get stuck a lot.  :)

It's really amazing so far!  I, unfortunately, am stuck already.  If there's no walkthrough I'll be posting stuff in the hints section...
