Hey gang.
After a minor lull, I started working on this sprite again, mixing and matching features, and I'm quite happy with how it's turning out so far:

One thing I'm particularly iffy about is the folds on the trousers, But I'd be glad to hear any other suggestions/opinions you have.

Is there any chance a regular "Pre-HourGame time" time could be arranged?
It's just that there is no way in the world that I could make the proper time, but I tend to put it off indefinitely/forget about it, as there's no one else doing it at the same time.
Also: IT'S NO FUN ON YOUR OWN!  :'(

My time zone's close enough to yours; so we should be able to sort something out if Steve can't set up an earlier time.

Spoiler
And if he can, I'm in anyway XD   Yaaay Hourgames!

Just got around to playing them, really good puzzles this week, enjoyed them both.
But ultimately, have to pick a favourite, so:

My vote: Kweepa

Just a quick edit on the shape to try to make the roof be more mushroom-y

Quote-I cant figure out how to do a sky pixelly (i.e without a gradient)
If you're using Photoshop, you can convert the gradient to Indexed colors with pattern diffusion mode, see result in my edit.

I really don't see the point in this; you still have a gradient, only with less colours, so the problem hasn't been solved. I mean yes, you can see the pixels, but it doesn't really add anything, in my opinion.

I think AG has the right idea with the background in his edit, maybe add a bit of anti-aliasing on the stars as well, and a moon perhaps.

Oh, Didn't check the first page, and I was following white the whole time :P

Indeed you (and anyone who wants to late join) can do so. This is valid until the end of round 1 (i.e. all the playes have moved at least once).

Cool, Add me to the list please :)

As much as I want to reward Jim for going out of his comfort zone and using colour, my vote goes to Looooooooominous!

[sidenote]
For the record, guys, I could totally see that being animated. Yes, it would need a lot of frames, but those hi-res guys know that's just the cost of doing business.  ;D

Scarab:
Nice entry - I'd be interested to know roughly how long it took, in the end. Sharp imagery. Music was a nice touch.

Thanks!
It's hard to put a number on it, because after I decided I couldn't make it in time, I stopped rushing, tried not to cut corners, took breaks, etc.
The game was functional at the 1.5-2 hour mark, but then I went back and cleaned up/redrew a lot of the graphics, mainly the window, the blackboard (made it readable) and extra frames for the characters (I redrew the teacher entirely).
All up, I'd say maybe 4 hours, if I were working at the same efficiency I was in the first hour.

I first used the chair on the window to try and climb up, see if anything were on top of the window frame. I was thinking (for some reason) that you had to have something else in your inventory to fire from the slingshot, and was looking for gum or nails or pencils or something.

Yeah, maybe calling it a slingshot was a misleading title, but I don't think a rubber band slung over a ruler has a proper name... despite how often they were made when I was at school :P

Maybe this feedback means nothing? Just thought you could use some player feedback.
Appreciated :)

Although it's made me realise that I haven't said anything about your guys' games  :-[

Magma: Very funny as usual, the fourth-wall banter was great :)

Hofmeier: Your game shows a lot of promise, and I foresee it being very addictive if you finish it.
The main 'bug' I found is that you can push past one flock of kids, and shepherd the whole lot off the screen.
Visuals are appealing and gameplay flows naturally and intuitively. Now finish it!! ;D

Shame I couldn't get mine in in time, but here it is, after a couple of hours polishing it:

Yes, I spent more than an hour on it, so it's not an entry, but it was inspired by the theme, so I thought it best to post it here anyway. :)

My vote goes to Magma, for the line

I will usually shade my initial standing sprite, and then reduce it to flat colours for animating, then shade each frame when the animation is complete.

I hate to tie up the competition, but one more vote for Steve :)

Get votin' people! :=

Hmmm, this looks good.
However, I tried to register, got the email, clicked on the activate link and got the success message.
I then tried to login (from the original page), and it said that I haven't completed the registration process and should look in my mail. When I clicked on the activation link again it said that the activation link was already used...
I tried to refresh and login again and got the same message.
Also tried to re-register but it wouldn't let me cause the email is already taken.
So, in short, I'm stuck...

I'm in the same boat...
