if it is really really good, I might sell it.......NAHHHHHH!!!!Ã,  Ã,  Free stuff is better ;D

You wouldn't be able to sell it unless you gave everyone who submitted a monster an equal amount of money as well as a free copy.

I agree with the other comments made (knees bend too much, like rubber legs almost, butt moves weird).

Another thing I'd like to point out is if this game is set in the earlier decades then it's fine, but if you're making a modern game you might want to lengthen the shorts and perhaps make them a pixel baggier, otherwise the kid looks a bit queer (as in strange, not gay).

I had a big-ass thread all about my e-bay adventures, but it seems to be long gone.

Here's my awesome entry:

It's a guy in a black suit with a black top hat.

Here's a closer view:

You can't get much more pixeltastic than that! I dare someone else to put more detail in a character using the same resolution. Think of the file space it'll save! No more 2GB games! We can finally go back to using floppies!

Edit: I just realized I should have made his body a bit longer than his head/hat. Oh well. I'll probably still win, because it rocks so much.

I'd actually like to get Torin's Passage off of eBay. I owned this game and after we moved I never saw it again.

I just don't know if it'll work on XP, so I'm not going to buy it unless someone can assure me it does...

Looks like the Negative Image filter to me... Nothing impressive.

NO! It's my cookie. Gimme.

But seriously, back to the topic...

[lgm] says he doesn't know what all the craze about Battlefield is... Just the huge maps, I guess. And the vehicles. The thing about Battlefield and almost any non-DeathMatch MP game is the fact that 75% of the people who play are complete idiots that should die. Right now. They don't even attempt to help the team. On DeathMatch games (which are boring), everyone is pretty much helping the team as long as they're shooting the right guys. The reason I stopped playing Battlefield is because of SmackTards. Oh, and my video card exploded and when I got a new one I didn't feel like starting up again.

I think RTCW is much better than Battlefield, as the teamplay is a lot better. There's still idiots, as always, but the maps are so small the idiots are usually at least in the right locations. With Battlefield, you'll have dumb-asses clear on the other side of the world, nowhere near helping you. Also, RTCW has better classes than Battlefield (especially the Medic!).

Well, if we suggested it here then the character wouldn't be so secret, would they?

Whoops. I just now somehow read that you wanted the best multiplayer... Oh well, I still recommend all of these games. For MP, just get Battlefield: 1942, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and UT2004. You'll never get bored.

Call of Duty is really fun. I played through the SP, and it was a great experience. However, I think Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is just as fun. I liked the MOH:AA multiplayer experience, because almost every server had a different set-up that required no downloading of mods. Some servers ran with 999 bullet clips and no reload, others ran with realistic damage to the body (1 or 2 shots) and one life per player (I loved these).

Return to Castle Wolfenstein has the most amazing multiplayer ever. If you don't own it, get it. Then play as a Medic. There's nothing more thrilling (in a PC game) than rushing through a blazing gunfight to help revive one of your teammates. Along with that, RTCW has a free counterpart sort of thing called Enemy Territory which you can get at most big download sites. Enemy Territory is tons of fun, as it has a new system where you can level up and gain new things (the Medic gets an Adrenaline Needle, for example).

Battlefield: 1942 is a lot of fun. I used to play this a lot. It's what took me away from RTCW (as well as my favorite RTCW server going down). Yes, the maps are huge. It's fun to snipe someone halfway across the map when all you can see of them is a light blue haze on the horizon. The vehicles are a blast too, but on MP servers SmackTards like to spawn camp the vehicle spawn positions, which doesn't help out the team at all. And this game needs loads of teamwork. In other words, MP can make you want to scream: "#)(%&#()& #%)(&#() %&#()%&#() SmackTards!!!!!!!!!!"

Raven Shield is really awesome. It depends on whether or not you like a lot of coop, teamplay, and strategic play in your games. If you like to just run around, jump, strafe, and fly through the air then this isn't your game.

UT2004 is completely opposite of Raven Shield, but I still have lots of fun with it as well. I only have the demo, but the game modes are awesome. Onslaught is similar to Battlefield: 1942 gameplay, but with a sort of violent game of connect-the-dots going on (it's hard to explain, but easy to understand when you see it). Bombing Run is fun, and if you haven't played it then that's basically backwards CTF. You fight for a ball in the center, and then take it to the enemy side rather than your side, and chuck it in a net.

Mafia isn't a FPS, but it's the best 3rd person shooter ever. It's like GTA, except more linear (except for the Freeride mode), and it's set in the 1930s. The cars are awesome, and very realistic. The whole game (except for damage done to yourself and usually others) is very realistic. You even get pulled over by cops for speeding, running redlights, and hitting things (but only when they catch you!). And if only one cop sees you speeding/beating someone up/whatever, and you kill that one cop then no other cops will know about it. It's my favorite game of all time, and I'm now playing it again. However, let me warn that it is sometimes a very difficult game. Two of my friends were never able to complete it (even after a year of trying).

Prince of Persia: The Sands of time and Beyond Good & Evil are two of my new favorite additions. Neither are FPS, but both are amazing games. They're made on the same engine, but are opposite games. BG&E is an adventure/action/stealth/racing/photographing game set in the future where aliens are invading a planet and the government is under a new control... You go around and solve puzles using the unique skills of your buddies as well as your brain, photographing new species for money and pearls, driving around a couple of vehicles, sneaking past guards, and other things. In PoP, you run around a lot and kill things and run around on the wallls and jump and swing and wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. It's so much fun I don't know what to say.

Soldier of Fortune 2 is... not that good in my opinion. I played the first few levels, and that was about it. The gore was interesting... I remember once toward the beginning I was running through tall grass with a shotgun, and I ran right into an opponent. My gun was already pointed down, and I just quickly fired. I looked up, and the guy was still standing there not doing anything. Then I looked down and noticed he was missing a leg, and then he fell over.

I'm not really sure on how to properly solve this problem, but I'd say just make the white a tad bit off white. For example, this color: #FEFEFE

Woah, buddy. It looks like you're missing a good portion of the interface. Hahah. PM your Fragism account details and I'll help you fix it up.

Uhh... Finish one game at a time? And I can't seem to find the images for this game.

When I first found Insta-Game a while ago, I opened it up and looked at it. As with many other people, I wasn't exactly sure how to make sprite grids to pull the sprites off the sprite sheets. Not caring about that for the moment, I tried to think of a storyline to fit with the empty backgrounds and few characters. I felt they constricted my level of thought, so I went on to other things.

I designed a few games here and there, half-finished one, but all of them came to a halt. So I asked myself: "Why can I not complete these games?" The answer was that I stopped because I didn't know what was ahead (scripting, animation, etc). I'd only draw a few characters and backgrounds, write out a plot, and then stop. I was unsure of how hard it would be to script, animate, and make music.

Then, I remembered Insta-Game. I downloaded it again, and began to code right away. I used the graphics as a base to have something to program with (as the AGS engine seems to need graphics in order to really program). My Insta-Game started to turn into something somewhat entertaining, so I decided to make it into my first real game (check my signature for the demo). With the practice in scripting I gained from using your graphics, I feel that I can make actual games now with my own graphics. So you've helped yet another newbie find his way into the game-making community.

The real flaw in Insta-Game is the lack of themes. As others have said, adding a small modern theme, and maybe an ancient/historical theme would really allow people to be more creative with AGS in terms of storyline. Most people who are excited about AGS are excited because they have "THE BEST STORY/IDEA EVER!!!!" If you give them the right graphics, they'll be able to make this adventure game they've been dreaming of making. As of right now, most Insta-Games will feel the same. I think that's the reason people aren't downloading my game demo, because it's an Insta-Game game rather than a made-from-scratch game...
#154
Well, I won't be completing this until after the team competition. For now, please enjoy the demo.

I'm not sure why nobody is downloading it. Are the Insta-Game graphics not appealing?

I'm glad one person liked it though...

I don't know how long the voting session is supposed to last, but I assume Eggie is going to win. So, Eggie, go ahead and start the next Puzzle Time! competition.

The update looks way better than the old version. The bar needs to be wider near where people would sit and have their drinks. Also, like I said, some barstools (tipped over and laying on the floor) would look really nice. Also, make the color on the floor different from the wall color.

Sluggo, that must have been a very weird experience.

Darth Mandarb, nice pictures. Here's two I took:

Bah. My second shot is too large for my free server to show (can't direct-link files over 250K).

You need to add a lot more to the scene. You need a barstand with some bottles and barstools, a dart board on the wall, a pool table, a lamp hanging from the ceiling or perhaps wall-lamps, and some shading. Also, you need to really fix that explosion burn. Draw it yourself with a pixel brush, and make it go up each wall...
