The forehead needs some wrinkle lines or something. And the hair needs more detail somehow.

Other than that, THIS OWNS! I love the style.

I have a Creative Audigy X gamer sound card. I downloaded and installed the drivers. After the restart, the Windows XP start-up sound played, but when I tried playing MP3s from WinAmp, I didn't hear anything.

When I tried to download the file, it said I needed to visit your site first. It brought me to your site, but nothing was on it.

You'll need to put a link to the file on your site.

Wow! And that's just from reading the description. The idea behind this game is very unique. I'd like to see more adventure games made like this, possibly where there is a murder scene and a few suspects and witnesses, and the player simply explores and then tries to guess who it is that did it.

Your screenshot scares me though. Heh heh.

And when I read this I laughed: "This game is not humourous. If, at any point, you find yourself laughing, please stop."

Oh yeah. People are going to love playing with Mike Hawk. I'll probably use him in more games, along with Justin Sane and other great characters such as Enya Bushes, Oliver Closeoff, and Joe Mommuh.

And I added the third background screenshot. Check the first post.

This is another background image for my upcoming game. It's considered 50% done at the moment because I still have some details to add.

I'd like some comments on how I can improve shading and texturing though, especially with the plants.

This background will only be in the game for a very short time, during the intro cut-scene. Ironically, I spent more time on this background than any other (about 4 or 5 hours). Probably because of those damn plants.

I think it was meant to be fast, so the game wasn't spoiled.

It's been done (or is being done) in a few games, and there really isn't any problem with it if you take good shots.

Also, you can take photographs and then trace them. That way it's still your own hard work, but it's a lot easier to draw objects.

That looks awesome!

When will this be finished?

A while ago when I saw the screenshots and animations for this, I was really looking forward to it.

I randomly went to the "Completed Games" forum the other day, and saw that it was completed.

I downloaded and played it. It took me probably 10 minutes at most to beat, and I loved it. It inspired me to make a similar short game of my own.

Make another with the same character!

How about you have to go back to the carnival, sneak around cops (using your brain, not some stealth-like thing), and hide all the evidence that shows you killed the guy ('cause there's probably a ton there).

1. Changed the color of the stairs.
2. Used strazer's wall edit. Thanks!
3. Attempted to shade the plants. Help!

And Yak, I'm a little confused on what you are trying to say about the stair rails. I do agree that they look a little weird and flat, but I'm not sure what you're suggesting.

1. Changed the colors around a lot (the red colors).
2. Added some slight shading underneath the rear bumber, and around the side mirror. Does the shading on the side mirror look ok?
3. Made the right side of the vehicle darker, along with the right side of the rear tail light.
4. Added some "depth" to the tail lights. How can I improve on this?
5. Changed the blue color on the license plate so it isn't so bright.

Here's the (quickly drawn) floor plan for the lobby. I'll have another edit of the background in a few...

Here's my edit for the night.

1. Corrected shadows, I think.
2. Edited elevator.
3. Added extra length to the part the pillars are supporting. Basically, the area with the elevator and the area with the stairs are not connected. I added a bit of wall where the elevator is to show this. The roof is behind the part the pillars are supporting, and can't be seen.
4. Made the stairs 500x better.  :)

I didn't know what to do to the plants. There are two plants, incase you didn't notice. The obvious one, and there is another on the top part of the round sofa thing. I'll probably add cushion lines to the round sofa thing later.

And, Yak, you weren't being a bastard. You helped a lot.

Here's my edit for the day:

1. Added a shadow below the car. Wasn't really sure how big it should be, so this is it for now. Feel free to correct me.
2. Made the black outlines lighter colors. Best result was on the lights.
3. Added shadow to the back window.
4. Made the gray stripe on the side of the roof a bit darker, for the hell of it.
5. Redid the rear end of the car, removing the exhaust and drawing all of the back end.

Are you suggesting I rename my characters?
#299
Once again, I added another screenshot. Both screenshots are only partially complete, and took me about 2 hours each.

Critics' Lounge / Background - Hotel Lobby
Mon 26/01/2004 02:00:31
This is the incomplete background for my upcoming game. It's a hotel lobby. The hotel is called Le Monde de l'Argent.

I will add more details later, but I will not post it here as it's part of the game's surprise.

What I do need help with is the stairs, and any perspective/shading problems you guys can see.
