This was actually a fantastic adventure game and a faithful adaptation of the license. I suggest everyone to give this game a shot.

With practice ANYONE can replicate the Leisure Suit Larry graphics. That's like saying you can't make Zak McKraken or Maniac Mansion backgrounds.

-----------

If I may deviate a tad, what would be the ideal game that I want to make?

I'd like to make a fairly accurate, possibly episodic, game based off of the anime Outlaw Star, including spaceship grappler fighting, the magic bullets, and the major storylines from the show. This is something that can't be done in AGS, but its something I'd like to do. I may investigate into XNA for it over the summer.

My ideal AGS games to make would probably be horrid LucasArts fan-sequels. Coming next year!

I've needed to recalibate my PC joystick for years. Finally I can get past the opening screen.

It's LeChimp!

Try re-importing the image. See that you import it at the same resolution that you imported the others into the sprite manager to begin with.

http://adventurecon.org/

QuoteAdventureCon is America's first convention for adventure game fans by adventure game fans.

Hmm.. I seem to remember a Mittens USA in 2004, but the only special guest was me.  :=

If we do host a Mittens in the DC/Maryland area, I should be able to get Sid Mier and some other local developers, but if you all can go to Vegas for this convention you can hear their guest speakers such as Al Lowe and Jane Jensen. Even more exciting for the non-Lucas babies here. [Looks at his forum name]  Enjoy ya Sierra-babies.

I somehow missed the ceremony announcement. I need an assistant... or an email reminder.

I also missed out on yelling "No, I'M SPARTACUS!" at every allotment. 'tis a said day indeed.

And please use descriptive subject titles.

It seems that English may not be your first language. That's okay, but you are doing right by trying to post in English. Feel free to add something like this to your thread:

"If how I described my problem above in English wasn't well written, and you can speak {insert your native language here} please send me a private message so I can either change what I'm asking or get help from you directly."

Welcome to the forums, and we would like to help you.

I hate MTV for cancelling Clone High.

Your "Not player character" is more often called a NPC or non-player character.

If you are using sierra speech style, or (default ags speech style) you may want to look in the manual for "Speaking property". That should be a start.

You could do a different if/else statement that checks to see if the certain NPC is not talking, and based on that return value, you can have them start up their displayedspeech again.

You would probably want to put this code correctly under a room property that, depending on when you want it to occur, it could be, when your main character enters the room, or there are other options.

And try not to double post. You can modify your first post and we will still see the difference. Let us know if we've helped you and if you want another push.

Are you wanting to do some sort of "If statement", as if

If (dooropenvariablename) returns a certain value
{
Let a character say something different. - or -
be able to pick up an inventory item - or -
something else
}
-----------------
If so, take a look in the ags manual/help file for if and if else statements.

It's like a lot of people are saying, the initial response was great because it proved that real crises could be averted, but then the mayor and the attorney general had to get involved and start a pissing match.Ã,

Initial response? Didn't it take about 2-3 weeks for people to start calling in and reporting them?

Not that I really oppose anything you said... just trying to make slight point.

General Discussion / Re: ags bar

Ashen, perhaps we can make BlueCupBar live on through SirEdmundo (netMonkey)'s awesome AGS movie maker.

And if you really want to hang out at a blue cup bar, you could always play Pester Quest.  :=

The "suspects" speak out at a news conference... and totally make the media look rediculous. I love them.

m0ds, I suppose I will just have to mail you twinkies or something to help you pass the time.

I will be coming. I know, I know, hold your applause. Maybe even the elusive ScubaChic will come.  :o

Grab your guitar, grab the trumpet player, and go downstairs and have a jam session. Then you can casually bring up the question as to what song it is.

The Historical League of Bouncy Boxing, or even that upcoming game "Phlegm/Snot" (sorry cant remember the name) would be wonderful additions to XBox Live Arcade.
