I read it as him talking to the sextoy... perhaps it would be better if he was raising the hand of the toy as in to kiss the hand, or greet the girl.

Farlander - do you know what the fourth wall is and dont understand Helms point, or do you not know what the "fourth wall" is?

I think you're better off citing the difference between a "dead end" and a "walking dead" game design, before you go about building a database of some sort.

In my opinion and correct me if I'm wrong but a "dead end" is obvious to the player that they can not proceed any further and will have to restart or reload.Ã,  A "walking dead" is when you can wander aimlessly around without much clue as to what you should be doing, or are incapable of doing, with no real hint that you missed something awhile back.

I was thinking it was going to be KI.... You've now rendered Pester Quest correct for finally making KI.

Hope it lives up to the hype. Theres more hype for KI than FoY, I hope you know.

"Splitting" the 2000 cost over 12+ people.... 150 - 200 dollars each person to visit for the whole week.

I plan on attending, and also to be there when the first day is, not this "I'll show up five days late" thing again.

And Disco and I can talk Firefly until our heart's content.

Nope. You can either overwrite it, or leave it blank. Sorry. It's just a feature that isn't highly needed on the ToDo List.

Next time you may want to differentiate between 'taking a picture' and 'taking a screenshot'.

And then again, "taking" a picture could either mean, you physically took a picture of a real life mansion, or you "took" a picture of a mansion off the internet, be it from a game, or a mansion.

I understood you as taking it from an internet picture, but whatever.

But at least you attempted to cite your sources from the beginning, but next time you may want to be more precise. Its always safer to do so.

Actually, Candle, as they mention that it was from a long time ago, Chris Jones is able to decompile games made before a certain version. As to that version, I believe its 2.62 and before. I could be wrong about the version numbers. It may not include 2.62, but CJ should be around in due time, but in the meantime, go ahead and if you can tell us the version number of AGS that it was made with.

The left jumbo screen looks to be going in the wrong direction, perspective-wise. It's more evident in the smaller picture, that the jumbo screen starts off smaller, then gets bigger, where I think it should be a subtle difference in the other direction.

I think we may have experienced a problem.

It seems that no one can register. I haven't tried this myself as I don't have the time this morning, but I did receive the following email:
-----------------------
Hi,
I found your email via your website through the AGS forums, I hope you don't mind that. I am Snail and I did join the AGS mailing list but the forums, I am having problems with registering to join, and yes I did answer all questions, - at the end after 'submitting' I get this msg:

An Error Has Occurred!

I blame you all for not recognizing the 7th birthday of our lovely AGS the other day.

Show your love. Show your appreciation!

You could have the police plaque slowly come in, piece by piece, as a sort of reward for doing well in the game. Or you could award different medals/plaques for reaching different acheivements in the game.

We stopped selling any items that contain spinach at the restaurant I work in, here in Maryland, until this whole mess is fixed.

Try a DIV with overflow set to scroll.

Wow, I have no idea what that means.

What exactly is your problem you are having?
Were you unable to retrieve the data from the wordpress database or not able to make the scrolling box? Or maybe both?

If it's the first, try following the tutorial in an empty document. I mean without trying to place it directly into your website, but to see if you can actually get the news data from the database.
It will be easier to catch any errors popping up and finding where they originate from.

Once you are able to retrieve the data, place it all into one variable like so:
$news_data = "";
$news_data .= "Hi, this is the first news story.<p>";
$news_data .= "Hi, this is the second news story.<p>";
and so on.
This will probably have to be nested inside a 'for' or 'while' loop to run through all news items.

Then, with all the news data in one variable, you can easily embed it into your html part of the document:
<div style="overflow:auto;height:60px;"><?=$news_data?></div>

If you run into any problems with the php part, please provide us with a link to the tutorial, what step of the tutorial isn't working for you ,any errors and warnings you receive and possibly the line of code (and the one before it) to which the error refers.

Good luck!

@Radiant: setting the overflow to scroll will always show scrollbars, both horizontal and vertical. Setting it to auto will only show scrollbars when the content is bigger than the display area. As long as there are enough possibillities for the browser to break the lines, only the desired vertical scrolbars will appear.

Here is the site [ http://lucasstyle.com/mzombies2/index.php ] with the wordpress pumping into it, and I'm sure I followed the tutorial correctly, but I spent a good afternoon trying to re-find the tutorial to show you all, with no luck. I'll continue to try and find it, but maybe I should ignore using wordpress?

I would really like to model a site practically after www.worldofmi.com, with the images/fan art integrated with a database for uploads and comments. I want a comment section for news and such that isnt only on the forums I set up.

I've got a long way to go. I'll continue to try and find the tutorial.

I've known that you've been working on this ever since you joined the forums, and I have been very interested in your work on this, so I will definitly be checking out your good hard work as soon as I can find the time away from school work, perhaps on Friday.

Great job.

I always get this error if I have Windows Media Player, or another sound player open (not neccesarily playing music, just open) and I try to test run an ags game.
Closing the program reverts everything back to normal.

Gord, I totally forgot about that version....

And what I loved about the N64 version, and whichever similar version it was copied from, was that you could throw things through the portals in multiplayer. You can not do this in Halo and I hate it.  I would love to be able to throw grenades through the portals but it won't work, where as in DN you could throw the pipe bombs through and totally mess with people waiting for you to run in after someone.

I could be completly happy with this style within a game as long as you do what Sinsin mentioned as to not make any objects blatantly obvious as to their ability to be picked up.

Also, this may make having any animation in the background, except from other, similar characters rather hard.

The character looks quite fun and I don't see anything glaringly wrong that is anything but stylistic.

Wonderful!
