Are you using the NewRoomEx(); code.  look it up in the manual
#2502
what code are you using to move the character?
#2503
I agree with all you have done on your mock page, and fully agree that keeping them spread out on all of our respective pages is foolish.

btw, add fonts, cause I have some to upload, unless you just want to go search my site for them.  oh, and change it to be a characters and animations selection.

Sorry, but I must say that that hair is incredible!  The character you made, though not all appealing to me (heck, I'm a guy), is well done.

And, Im really glad to see you back on the boards.  I know I missed you.  [que cheesy romance music]  Wait, no, not like that! [Record scratch sound to silence]

I do agree that the painting and the paper on the first shot, that without you telling me, I wouldn't of been able to tell.  Nice job on that.  Perhaps writing a little tutorial to others who don't seem to get that right, I would appreciate that, I know.

On the second shot, I would probably tone down the orange color on the skinrug, and the vase/glass on the table also stands out too much.  I would suggest a blue hue or something for the glass insides to get away from the glaring outline of it.  But really, everything else looks great.

Woa, woa, woa! This is your[/i] program!  Could you please do us allll a favor and put your game and your animations on hold and just finish the program.  ;D   I mean, don't be selfish.  ;)

No, really, I'm positive this would be a great inclusion for 90 percent of all AGSers to be using along with their game.  Being able to see your animatoins is one of the things I miss most with the Windows version of AGS.  But, I do say, that there have been advances in the Windows version that I would never give up.

I think I like the idea of a page better, but a forum would be easier to update.  With the page, you could give the full tutorial and code for the people along with screenies, and then at the bottom, you could give the poeple the source code or a template of the example in question.  I love looking for Flash tutorials with all the above.

Don't use the one that comes with AGS, there are many faults with that one.  I've tried many times before to save it, but it just fails.  Go ahead and use the first post in this thread to get directed to Proskritos' GUIs.  They will be what you want.

His arms get really thin at the beginning, and I think that detracts from the beauty of this art.

What are you talking about?  I went to the search field of the manaul and typed in 'importing character' and it brought up 4 answers, and the last 3 are exactly what you need.
#2511
what did you use to make the character appear on certain coordinates.  This is the appropriate code.
----------------
NewRoomEx
NewRoomEx (int room_number, int x, int y);

Identical to NewRoom, except that the player character is placed at co-ordinates (X,Y) in the new room.
Example:

NewRoomEx(4,100,50);

will move the player character to room 4 and also place him at coordinates 100,50.
------------------------------

Are you sure you are doing your braces correctly as well?
#2512
what are the dimensions of yours?

I like to rub my burns for good luck on tests and stuff.

Really?  Cause I like to rub my buns for good luck, but then I just get stares from all the girls in my class.  I think they want me.

Anyways, I hate having to shave.  I think when I can afford to get the electrolysis or whatever to my face and chest I will.

I still dont have a real job

Well, we can't all be hitmen... and there are long stretches without any good bounties...

Not the least of which was leaving my girl

Yeah... leaving her...  thats one way to put it. {shifty eyes smiley face here}

No, you were fine, and so was Chris when he posted in the thread.  It was a sensible and fun thread then... but when 5 posts in a row are different variations of the word penish or something else quite as stupid, the thread gets lame.

I really liked the endings article.  I got to see other types of endings to games I am not so familiar with.  For example, I've never played a Sierra adventure game, so those whole storylines are new to me. I liked the article, but I would not put in "see above" for an answer to a proposed field of endings... I would either reword it, or put it like

Ending Style 1 &
Ending Style 2:

And then mention any differences here

Edit, I know this isn't the one he was looking for, I just posted the direct link based off the previous link.

If you are importing .cha files, do what JudgeDeadd says.

If you are really importing individual frames of animation to be later put together into a character, then you go to sprite manager.... wait, no,

Just read "Getting Started with AGS part 6 and 7... in fact, read it all.

Reno:  Interact with inventory
currently, because the Interact mode selects the inventory item, this interaction can only be triggered by manually calling the RunInventoryInteraction text script function (ie. you have to use the Handle Inv Clicks in Script option).

notagoodname:
Did you make your own LucasArts styled GUI? Or are you using Proskritos template?
