The Rumpus Room / Re:The MSPaint game

if it gets this "game" back to being played, then yes... if we can all agree to stop the lame joke to throw George W. back in.

Alright, first, when you import a picture, you can choose what corner pixel to use as the transparent pixel... Thats why you'll see people put like pink or purple as a background color for their pictures.  You could aslo select the "Pallete Index 0" which, hopefully you are using "convert game to high color" if its your first game.

When you have several pictures of your character, such as 7 front walks, back walks, left walks (you can mirror the image for the right view now), then you go to the View selection on the ags editor.  Then you import the frames/sprites into the corresponding loops. (front for front, back to back,and so on)  After this you go to the characters selection on the ags editor.  You could either create new character, with that button near the bottom of the new screen, or just overwrite the first character, which i would suggest.  You can go ahead and change "Full Name" if you'd like, but below that there is "Normal View"  you will change this to the new number of the view you just created.

I really don't understand your first question.  Are you making your character views and putting your talking views as later loops below the walking ones?  You're not supposed to do that.

Some of those pictures remind me of "middle earth"

sounds like a great trip!

You should be real proud of your walk animation you've got there.  Very well done.

onion skinning is like motion lines, or a faint copy of the object in the spatial existance it was just a millisecond ago

Alright, alright... Eggie atleast knows that I've been working on a game that we will all eventually pass around with rooms and the such.  It shouldn't be long till its out, and Egghead get the second crack at making a room for the game.  :)  When I'm closer to releasing it, I'll go ahead and make a games in production post and then there will be a listing of who gets it next.

Don't worry, its coming

2.  Could you not create a new character with altered art to give the affect of onionskinning?  What I would do would be to either run an animation of your character with the trailing effect, or create a new characater.

I just became aware that my new college UMBC, University of Maryland, Balitmore County, is involved in helping those make games.  Check out this link and tell me what you think.  I may begin looking into this and tell you all about it.

Interview Bill Tiller and ask him what he thinks of Paco Vink's work with the Monkey Island 1 comic.

Cause it was.  The last time Proskrito updated the template was with an earlier version.  You shouldn't have any problems with it though.

SetGlobalInt
SetGlobalInt (int index, int value);

Sets the global variable INDEX to VALUE. You can then retrieve this value from any other script using GetGlobalInt.
There are 500 available global variables, from index 0 to 499.

Example:

SetGlobalInt(10,1);

will set the Global Integer 10 to 1.

"Hello, can I have my friend Mark please?"

Wham!

The board falling down on you makes it even funnier...  that was great.

Psst....

[whispers] All this talking could be done with the Private message function...

But you are not supposed to be focusing on the stars... maybe so if you are just looking at the artwork right here, but not if you are playing the game.
