create a new cursor, with using the whole shovel as the cursor pic... then switch cursors and such.

Is your question about you not wanting to use inventory objects as cursors?
Or do you want your characters to automatically come up with some animation with a shovel that you yourself didn't create?

Im confused.

I know some people around the boards are looking for something like this, so - bump bump

I'm also going to consider using this, so I'll let you know if I have any trouble or if I just want to praise you.  ;D

I wouldnt' be worried too much about going up against his art.  He may use a little bit more colors for shading or whatever, but yours are very very good.  Im very impressed.  keep up the good work.

Although, the first and the fifth one look strikingly similar  ;)

Beginners' Technical Questions / Re:game view

Earlier this year, someone wrote some code to create a more 'lucasarts' feel so that when a character got near, not next to, but near an edge, like a couple steps away, the room would scroll.  If someone remembers where to find that, then we could post that and help you modify it for your game's like.

the viewport does follow the character. I dont understand what you mean.  do you want it to move as if to keep the character in the center of the screen at all times as rooms scroll around you as you try and move to the right.  Like the backgrounds move beneath you?

I'm sorry, but are you sure its not a giant hotspot you drew, and not a walkable area?

I dunno, it seems more like a buff Trigun fanart.  But nice though, dont get me wrong.  ;D

maybe make your inventory pics , just words and import those graphics into ags, and then fiddle with the inventory controls like sizing and how many per line, and see if you can get your scrollable text inventory that way.

at least thats what i would try first.

You would either need to find or make your own font.  Go to www.bripro.com and download the needed utility to make your own.  I did.  It took me a couple trys, but it was well worth it in the end.  Upload it to the fonts section of ags, then set the font you want to be used when you want it.

Flippy, that added nothing whatso ever to the convo.

and to Nealtoyourleader, (which im guessing your name is Neal) no one truly cares overall about the graphics.. yeah they may be a great thing to add to your game, but many games here have become superstar quality, with pitifully drawn graphics.  And just because a game has great graphics, it does not mean its a fantastic game immediatly.

I understand that, but keeping the game all inclusive in AGS would make it nicer.  One folder for sound effects, and so on.

What?  You can't send yourself back to the original time without someway to do it...

yeah, he'd be sending himself back, but back to like medival times or something, then how would he get back to his orginal time, or go anytime else from that point?

Is he a belly admirer?

I really like the embrace one overall, but they are all great.  Nice consistant job.

well, you have a braces problem... one is not closed properly.

But, I'm not sure you would even need this extra function... but perhaps you do.

I would just put the "playsound'' at the same point that i would be adding inventory, or you could have the invetory things hooked up to a point system, and there is a play sound at different point levels or when you just get points... i think that would work.
