I can't wait till next summer.  Mittens USA style.

Perhaps go to a new room, kinda of like in CMI, and there have an animated object go continuous, and then draw a hotspot over it?

Wow... thats... really helpful.  Thank you for that insight....

Seriously... good luck getting your downloads... If someone does send them, reply with a post so everyone doesn't flood his email... but we'd need to know which ones he would like.

I do believe that someone else on these forums uses a "gas *something* entertainment' name, so I'd move away from that.

Why not put in a wait command with as many game cycles that the animation takes to go after the animate call, and then do newroom?

My Gui is supposed to pop up, asking if the user would like to [automatically] win.

It pops up just fine, but then it freezes. No buttons will respond, and I can't quit the game, so I have to Crtl Alt Del the thing.

Here it is:

under
function on_key_press(int keycode)
I have:
if (keycode==23) GUIOn(WIN); // Ctrl + W -- Automatically win game
if (IsGUIOn(WIN))
  {
     if (keycode==89)
     {
        NewRoom(1);//winning room
        GUIOff(WIN);
     }
     if (keycode==78) GUIOff(WIN);
  }

I shouldnt have to move the last nested function to rep.execute function, do I?
I'm using the beta version 2.56, by the way.

I'm assuming this is Buddle from the beginners forum, which there I stated not to post art questions, but rather in the critics forum or the ags talk and chit chat forum.

Come on now.

yeah, thats been in my mind for awhile now,  but when the idea for a splash screen came up, I put it together.  this is just a first edition of it... just so i'd get my ideas down.

M - thank you for being helpful

buddle - calm down and please read the forum rules.  You have broken 2 already in one thread.

don't yell! This goes for titles and messages. Please refrain from using ALL CAPS!1!11!!1 and unnecessary coloring or formatting. You will get your point across the same with plain old black text. :)

make sure that your post is for this board. If it's not related to the basic parts of AGS, check some of the other forums. Questions regarding art, drawing, techniques, should be done in the AGS Talk & Chit-Chat forum, Critics Lounge or even the General Discussion forum.

you are more than welcome to start a thread over in the ags talk and chit chat, or read some tutorials in the sticky threads over in the critics lounge and post there when you have something to show.

Oh, i see. Make the gui called ACTION clickable and that should do it  :)

worked just fine.  thanks a lot.  I'll let you know more if i see any.  This is really great!

if you are playing thegame and you are in walk mode, you could click somewhere on the status bar, and the char would walk, thinking its part of the room.   Not neccisarily able to walk down there (of course if you add a walkable area, maybe) but I dont think we should be able to click there and have a walking ability.  I thought it was there so that we could click on a command line that we want to happen, but that is not the case, so i guess im just confused as to why its clickable which causes the char to walk in that direction.... like if he starts off by the sign on scabb island (no treasure huntin' zone) and you click on 'walk to' down on the status line, guybrush will walk onto the bridge.

And just wondering, why did you not keep the status line and the 9 verbs on the same gui?
#2918
During or creating a GUI in the editor, your hand might slip and move your buttons, well, in my case it has.... several times.  I think it would be nice if you could add a button to control whether you can move the buttons, and other elements of the gui if you dont want them to move.

Its like 'align elements to grid' only not be able to move them.
I hope I got my point across.

Hmm... cursor 5... doesn't really look like a cross... more like Hoagie.  ;D
