So, when's the next team compo?

Wha? We're still working on our first Team Comp game. You just don't show up. And wheres the new bar background for Pester Quest?Ã,  ;)

you could then just make it a room file.
#503
it has been asked before, which is why we were able to give you programs that could have fulfilled your question.
#504
well,  you could not do object interactions, and just draw a real hotspot above the string image, and then do your interactions with the larger hotspot. when "pick up" disable object image on screen.

do a help file search for Set Inv Dimensions, or Set Inventory Dimensions. That should give you what you seek.

"Did you say Monkey Island theme? But how did you?... oh right, my phone went off during the interview..."

and then you answered it... classic. cant believe you were on IM during it. Now I'm going to write you out of the blue all the time to try and catch you. We'll hear some interview later and in the middle of it you'll scream out "Damn you Scummbuddy!!!"

I like how you added the "what do you do when creating games" type questions. I think a quick question at the beginning about "how you got your name" would be a fun addition. I doubt everyone can remember others answers from that that thread.

Those super mario brothers in 10 minutes are actually fake. The guy came out and said he faked it using Premiere or whatnot.

I believe it may be hard coded into the engine. If you want to change the color, I do believe you'll need to make your own GUI so you may customize it.

I've just had people instant message me on AOL and I answer whatever they question. It's no big deal and I haven't had to block anyone yet.  ;D

It will never be Sand Island... I have actually put in payment to change the name of the island to its more appropriate title.

Interviewing Grund wasn't bad at all.

And choosing between MI 2 and 3 is a hard choice. CMI is wonderful on its own, and MI2 did bring MI to its best level. And MI4 is as bad as its rep is given.  ;)

Scotch, yeah, I originally was reading 250GB as 250 MB, so thats why I had the aprehension of the file sizes, but after doing my own math, I can afford like 4000 downloads of a 50 MB file... so yeah, I won't be cheapening the video quality from now on.

If the bottom thing is a coffin, then it needs to be in the shape of it and perspective would help. And please, no textures.

The flower looks odd with no detail, compared to the textured bottom thing. It's not a matter of 'sharpening up the object'. It's about detail. And typically, stems don't get larger as they go towards the end, but the reverse of that.

I do, however, really like the typeface you used. The phrase works well with the drooping flower, and the 'coffin'.

Oh my, it's finally here! After being pressured by Edmundo for a year and a half, I've finally gotten around to uploading the Mittens 2004 GTD, one of many held that glorious week.

Only this one was recorded, but if you'd like to see more of the Mitteneers in action, check out the previously released videos at: http://lucasstyle.com/videos.htm#mitvid

This discussion is about the final puzzle and outro cinematic for adventure games and how important they are for the audience to feel a sense of completion, replayability, and just overall love for your game. Many mitteneers went home crying, for they had yet to finish The Dig, but alas, has given up hope now.

Beware, though. Many, many game endings are revealed in a short amount of time, with little warning, so be sure you don't care about any adventure game ending that came out before that Mittens. We disclose ALL.

It's just shy of 10 minutes long, and we'll see how much of my bandwidth this hogs up.
Although godaddy.com just increased my bandwidth from 25 GB to 250 GB for free, I'll check in on how its being used, because I've had to pay for going over, way too many times. Hopefully, I won't have to delay the next one until next month, but hey, have fun and enjoy the show. If the bandwidth doesn't become an issue, maybe I'll raise the quality next time.

Mittens 2004 Video GTD (Part 1) : 10.7 MB Zip

(I'd love to have given you all the 50 MB version, but I have no idea where to get hosting that can afford the many AGSers who will get this video.)

when you are loading a sprite, select from the drop down menu, use upper left corner for transparent color, or whatever corner pixel has the white, and whereever there is white in the image, will be transparent.   I usually will open the image in paint, and make the background some color that isn't being used in the character, as white can be used in characters eyes and such, so I'll pick some bright green or purple, or whatever I'm not using.

Blimey, now that brings back memories! Got anything else to pull out of that magical hat of yours, m0ds? :P
I know my magic tape has footage of the bed Mills and I shared, the shorts of Erics that I wore, and netmonkey hugging my back.Ã,  What a gay old time we had at Mittens.

There is even footage of us all talking merrily about games in some sort of game theory discussion. Hmm, if only everyone could get to see it.

Just checking out the old mittens videos will generate laughter. Too bad I didn't get the more controversial GTD of adding the GUI button "Punch".  ;) This one is all about the satisfaction of endings in adventure games, while finding the nice medium between an easy puzzle, or seemingly impossible. Major game spoilers are about, as we give away the ending to well over 25 games. Before watching, play every adventure game, just to be safe.

I suggest you start telling the dates on which you make the interview... for memory sake.
#518
What was Becky doing at LGM's?  :P

Maybe you can get ScubaChic and I this coming weekend. Then it can really be a dual interview.

You can use this editor by our own Radiant, which allows you to manually edit SCI and AGS font files.

http://www.tdrdesign.net/downloads/fontedit.exe

If you want to look at already made SCI files, you can go here:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/scifonts.htm

I actually made a copy of the Monkey Island font a long time ago, and it was great because I got what I wanted in it using a font editor. Now you can find similar fonts to what I did everywhere.

Can you just find some German font that is a ttf file? Or is that the problem?
