The Rumpus Room / Re: Cheesy subtitle for AGS

AGS: You're not really reading this because you don't start up the engine anymore. Get off the forums.

hmm, too long... how about:

AGS: Wasting hard drive space since 1999.

Have a look here:

In fact, your post may be merged with that thread.

Enough harping... if you think you can spin a parody of Indiana Jones in an evil way, then go ahead and try it. I would think that it would get old after awhile, but if you can make it work really well as a small game, then it might be great.

So yeah, go for it. Get the sprites from Scumm Revisited and add evil mustaches to Indy and Sophia and we'll all have a laugh.

I'll admit that I've had an idea of taking a game, and making it do a 180 turn for evil. I'd enjoy a game in this respect if planned and executed well.

Expect a full review of the movie on ManiacZombies.com soon!!

I'll elaborate.

The Completed Games Announcements forum is for AGS-made games only. You may pimp games not made with AGS in our General Discussion forum only. We do appreciate you stating in the subject title that it is only a flash game, and I'm sure this will just simply be moved to the Gen forum.

If you mean, when a character walks onto a Region, not a hotspot, and that causes the background image to change, then I would suggest making a new background image, and change the background image, if player character is on top of region, and you could also change the player character view to one that is inverted.

Is there something else I'm not understanding from your question? Any other questions?

It's just a silly Mittens game. actually, I'm not so sure its a "game"... And since you're new to the forums, I'd surmise that you don't know Grundy, so the finale wouldn't be all that stupendous.

If Eric doesn't beat me to it, I'll put up links tomorrow... but you didn't hear that from me. LucasLegal may still care! Oh noes!

Hmm, I don't know if I've run into this problem before, but it sure is an interesting one. I will fire up my version and see about replicating it.

Does it really randomly pick either an object/character/inventory object, or is it really just one of these? Well, actually, I guess I could see how it is making a mistake pointing to a specific sprite in the sprite manager. What happens when you hover over the "broken" verb? Does it point to the correct highlighted verb, or to a different sprite, which it thinks is the highlighted version of the correct verb? This could be the point of the bug. Anyways, again, I'll take a look.

Although not AGS created, there is Legends of LeChuck, and the Fate of Monkey Island series. Those were created with ClickTeams Game creator, if I'm not mistaken, and when I say created, I mean ages ago. They are bordering around 8 years old, I'm sure.

Just posting to say that this is a feature I expect to use in two of my upcoming games.

But I already mentioned that link, which directs to my website, in my post a few posts up.  :-\

Hey, its alright. It happens to the best series. Just do what us LucasArts fans do and say Escape from Monkey Island is really just a fan game. A really well-funded and decent-if-it-was-a-stand-alone game written and developed by top developers.  ;D
I totally agree with you about MI4. :)
But QfG5 was also designed by Lori Ann Cole. So, it's not the same I think. I'm not sure if you meant that, though.

I was just trying to say that the creators of MI4 are decent game creators in their own right, but I mostly don't like the way MI4 was handled. My comment was not a jab at any other developer. I could barely name another developer outside of LucasArts when it comes to adventure games.

There was a general store back in town. It had fireworks, Yea! Canada hats, and I swear I saw that monster walking around in there. That's probably where we got it.

Scott, It's probably just payback for you leaking Nanobots ;)

You mean the NanoBots game file she conveniently forgot to "empty" from my recycle bin...  ;D
