I may be very interested in taking on the second coming of this game. I know that there are other very qualified scripters out there, but I would like to throw my hat into the ring. I am working on a game somewhat like it and it would give good insight back and forth from each other on their creation.

I think you've done an outstanding job. Very very nice.

The ONLY gripe I have now, is the mis-matched furniture. Yeah, it is possible for someone to get hand-me-down furniture, or you just buy it that way, but all the furniture here are of different makes. I would suggest that you hire a decorator to help give you some color matching, for not only the furniture, but everything else in the room. (To some extent, at least)

The silhouette you did is very nice. I would keep it as it is. You added some nice detail to it, it would be a shame to just go all-black with it now.

It's nice to ask the creators, but you probably won't be selling the game, nor would the game get back to the artist creators, but you should definitly credit the artists at the end of the game.

It's just a learning experience game, so it should be no problem.

I can take the BFAQ, no problem. Sorry you feel that won't have as much time, but perhaps you are moving on to bigger things. Congrats on everything.

I'll just have to be the 'bad cop' in the beg. forum from now on.  ;)

I absolutely love it.

Two things I would add/change, would be to extend the drapes on the window to the full length of the window. It wouldn't make much sense to have curtains that don't cover the window, in my opinion.
Another thing, would be to add a silhouette to the front of the room, and add something that would go on that 'fourth wall' between the viewer and the room.

I also love the story ideas that youve given us just a hint of. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

You wouldnt look to LucasArts, especially today. You would look for Bill Tiller sites and there are links to him and things he has written on links provided already on this thread. One of the links sends you to another thread, where I posted my link to "How to Draw Monkeys the..." which is a great read for trying to capture that feeling.

And CMI != Igor....

Ahh, fifth element. great movie...

but If I were to make a game off a series, it would be off of an anime called Outlaw Star. You all probably don't know of it, but it ran for 23 some episodes and had some great different action elements, but if I could get the space fights down, I think it could help make the game stay at a whole different level. There are so many different levels just in teh storyline, such as past cultures that developed things and have now vanished (i know, done before) but theres more that probably only another fan could understand) I could make you all understand, but I dont have time to type it all out now.

Universal Press, the comic strip distributors, shut down every calvin and hobbes fan-site, just because they could. It was so lame. I hate that syndicate. They weren't doing anything wrong. They were just a hub for fan art and such. One was in the process of putting up strips, which, I would be okay if the syndicate said "Do Not" and then they were taken down. I would understand that, even though all the strips were also available through searching on their C and H site.

nikolasideris - you could still end up with getting a letter from Disney. It would be up to a court to decide how alike they are, but you would still have to be careful and just enough apart, or parody the character, to get away with it.

magintz - they could still shut down the FOY project, or LucasFans' new one, because it is using their characters and some story elements that are theirs. Thank God LucasArts isn't on a rampage anymore. Just because FOY's Indy is an original sprite, it still is Indy and its now LucasArts... in a way.

And anyone should be able to sue or at least punish people who have really bad fan fiction. Stick up for the creators...  ;)

Oh boy. My aplogoies.  I was assuming that someone was trying their best to write in english, but I was inviting them to write in their native language. I never said that they had written in another language, and I was just referrring to MEHRDAD.

Maybe I'll just stay out of this one, before I put my foot in my mouth even further.

I knew what you said, but I was merely trying to say, that it's not really possible. I didn't mean to run over what you had said, and I do believe all their problem is, is to have the names come higher, but it also sounds like they think that it won't play in a correct order that they want, so I guess I was just trying to write it my way, in hopes of getting the message across to this person.

Also, it seems to me, as from your first post that you are not a native english speaker. If you would like, go ahead and write what language you noramally use, and if someone spots it, and also knows it, perhaps you two could private message each other through some means to get your ideas out easier. Just please don't write non-english threads in these forums, without translations. We're trying to keep this an english board. Not to be jerks, but just for consistency.

No. This is not neccesary. The room numbers have nothing to do with when they will be displayed in game.

If you want to have a logo screen, make it anytime you want it. Just have your player character start in that room number, and then you can select in the room properties "hide player character"... there, you have your logo room, and no visible character. then you can have some room to have your 'play flic' hosted in. it could be room99 if you want. it doesnt matter. you just have to link to that one from your first room that the logo was in, with some sort of NewRoomEx(); code, and then when youre in the flic movie room, link with newroomex(); to the next appropriate room number.

and dont just copy/paste my 'newroomex();... look it up in the manual to see how it is used.

Everyone, please stop! Competitions are soley for submitting art. If you want to talk, or attempt jokes, submit something for the competition, and then say what you want. But keep the forums clean...

btw, I do plan on entering this comp.. ive got ideas, just not the time. tomorrow, i will.

I've bought it. I'm really enjoying it. The quality of the bugs scared me at first, but you settle into the world and I haven't noticed anything like those bugs again yet. The music is great, and the game is fairly well done. Ron Gilbert and others are right, as in, playing a game that you can play for maybe 30 mintues, enjoy and put down for awhile. Pick it up the next day. It's a nice thing to look forward to tomorrow.
