as the forum rules state, you are to private message the game author

and there are many stargate fans here that wish this game to make it through. We're always glad to have another.

First of all, you are not supposed to bring up old threads. It states this in the forum rules....

But about the game you linked to.. its actually in a lot of trouble. Part of the team has cancelled the game stating that its not up to par with what they would like it to be, and the other half says that that half doesn't know what theyre talking about, and that they don't own it, so the game is still continuing.Ã,  Well, recently, if I recall correctly, the side that said it was theirs and was NOT up to par, won their arguement, and is looking for new developers.

But now, I'm off topic.  What I can say, is that this game will probably be made before an official game comes out.

They're not up to 2.7, but hopefully, they'll give some ideas:

The only reason I was sorry to see this thread brought back up was because I had already posted it on my Maniac Zombies site. Now I have to add the last couple posts that count.

On the other hand, I would love for this thread to continue, especially with the extra image added. I would love to see all the characters done in a very respectable manner, pixely, of course.

Igor DID start a few years back. He didn't just pick up a tablet pen yesterday and go, "Oh my, look at me go!".  ;)

Kyle does not come here. I don't even know if he's interested in creating games, but I am heavily interested in creating a much better website for him.

Uhh,.... don't beat yourself up about it. I'm sure someday you'll get some artistic abilities..... okay, yeah, no one is going to crap on your fantastic, and functional background you posted. It's quite simply, beautiful. More!!

Not to start a nitpicking party, but Quake and CounterStrike are not adventure games. They are first person shooters, which are extremely difficult to re-create in AGS. There are many other engines out there, some for free, that can replicate the type of game that you want, a lot easier than AGS.

Your logic is flawless. For example, any driving game where you collect nitro-boosters is now an adventure game. Heck, in Tetris, you collect lines... Adventures games aren't dying! They're everywhere, man.

Please take your time when posting threads. You seem to have a grasp of English, so please spell check yourself.

just a real quick thing, i hope that the coloring of the cloud, or at least its outline/depth shows it easier as a cloud, and not just a blank area of the sky. What I'm saying is that, at first, I thought there was just a void of stars, but I eventually saw the cloud. Perhaps some nice highlights, but then again, of course you know all this.

What a beautiful scene you have so far. I didn't think you had bailed from the project, but I actually was just about to send you a private message asking about the game status.

Very nice.

General Discussion / Re: Great game music

I second Yuftser's suggestion about discussing iMuse. It revolutionized how music was used in games but never got the publicity it deserved.

youre forgetting one thing. us "moping" is letting us greive, and most imporantly get us a tad angry, which can lead to motivation to ensure that the adventure genre does not dry up.

Yes, thank you. The DOTT one will go up on my site ManiacZombies soon, and the Adventure Games 5 page article will be a nice read tomorrow when I have a break.
Thanks for uploading three articles I hadn't read yet. I appreciate it.

I don't think that you understand the extreme similarities between the word good and great. They are virtually interchangable, while, of course, the word 'great' means slightly more importance. But it is NOT the same as Bernard saying "Dude" instead of "Sir". Yes, we understand that for Bernard, it would be highly unlikely that he would ever say "Dude" unless the situtation called for it, but seriously, there is no difference in a persons character if they say 'something is great' all the time, or 'something is good' all the time.

Driving a couple miles would be on the outskirts of the college community, and don't go by fan fiction as "the word".

and yes, we just call it "Rock and Roll".

Someone on this board, led me to this link, at the BBC webpage. It's for ScriptSmart, a free tool you add to Microsoft Word and it helps you write scripts. http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/scriptsmart/
Check it out.

QuoteIn the middle of nowhere, among some green hills was a big Victorian mansion from the colonial times. It's a clear starry night and the only thing that was heard was the song of crickets.

Along the outskirts of a college community, among some green hills sits a large Victorian mansion from colonial times. It's a clear, starry night and the only thing that is heard is the song of crickets.

You're writing in practically all past-tense here, which would be wrong with creating a script.

I am currently reading through the rest, and will reply with more to say later. I'm still enjoying it. When it's done, would you mind if I put it up on my Maniac Zombies site?
