Thanks for fixing the issues for IE users. And good luck getting the little points to be viewable as far out as can be seen.

I couldn't put myself on the moon. Stupid Google Moon.

When are all of us caveman IE users going to get to join in?
#704
Download a different one from that site.
#705
I think I might, since I'm the one who uploads it to WorldofMI, and I am currently subtitling it, so hopefully, it will be up within a day or two.

http://www.freewebs.com/skimbleshanks/templatesandmodules.htm

Just unzip the file, and place it all in your ags directory. When you create a new game, the new template choice should appear.

You'll be happy to know that that is how he scored the position of voicing Sophie Hapgood in Fountain of Youth.

My suggestion is to make the head turn a little to the right and left as the walking happens.

Maybe something as simple as showing more nose, and moving the eye back a pixel or two, and then back to normal, then less nose, and the eye to the other direction for a frame.

Look, its fine to use other characters, drawings, real life for inspiration, but if you are to obviously take so much, you need to definitly clarify the original author, even though you didnt really ask specifically on critics on the front view.

And I wouldn't suggest using this image of Fry to learn from, since its hardly a true normal side view. He's almost shrugging, and its hardly a pose anyone would normally hold for awhile, so I dont suggest using this as a real side view for your character, unless its a static character who shrugs a lot.
-------
The feet in the side view need to be made rounder near the front, I dont care for how straight the legs look, and how close they are. I  also didnt care for how straight down the jacket came, but I suppose its alright. His head, though, seems to have shrunk in the side view creation, and his body seems a bit too big for how thin his legs come together.

These are just pointers of ways to take this mocked up char. I hope it helps.

It looks a lot like Philip J. Fry. http://www.gotfuturama.com/Information/Encyc-6-Fry/

General Discussion / Re: NEED INFO

Can't wait to play your game!1! It sounds very interesting!

And I hope you got the INFO THAT YOU NEEDED.

(Don't write in all caps; and use descriptive titles next time, please.)

There most likely won't be another edition/release of ScummRevisited... the "pre release of 5" is most likely the final. It's just an unfinished release.

At least George Lucas said his going to focus on new Indiana Jones Moves now. So Im happy that Star Wars is finished, it just kept getting worse...

So if Georgie fucks up the Star Wars franchise with god-awful movies, of course he won't do the same thing to Indiana Jones, right? Right???
Yeah, but at least Steven Speilberg will be there, and he can lean over and just shake his head, saying, "No, George, no."

Mind you all the indiana jones games were fun.
The only two I enjoyed were Fate of Atlantis and the Last Crusade (adventure). If anyone has every played the FOA Action Game, they would know what I'm talking about. And the Infernal Machine? It took three years to rip off Tomb Raider? Just wow.
There's also Emperor's Tomb, which is fun, for what I've played of it already, but it just sits around on my desk, going unplayed.

PreviousRoom property
(Formerly known as character[].prevroom, which is now obsolete)

readonly int Character.PreviousRoom

Gets the room number that the character was previously in. If the character is still in the room that they started in, this will be -1. Otherwise, it will be the room number of the room that they were last in.
This is a read-only property. It is set automatically by ChangeRoom.

Example:

Display("EGO's previous room was %d.", character[EGO].PreviousRoom);

will display the EGO character's previous room.

For now, there are ways around the hotspot limitation, by checking the mouse coordinates to see if they are in specific quadrants, where clicked.

Thanks for fiddling with it, and finding a possible solution. I will also give it a try and let you know. I appreciate the work you did.

Export Roger (copy to clipboard) and paste in MSPaint, and check the image properties.

But this doesn't matter. Since you could make backgrounds that wouldn't have Roger fitting correctly to your game. I suppose, typically, he will be fine, especially since you can enlarge and shrink the characters depeding on what zoom factor walkable areas they are on, but still, draw a background, then create a character that would fit into a doorway of the room you just made.
-----------------------
Increasing the color depth wont do so much to slow down the game. People generally have fast enough computers that you won't have to worry about this too much. Its more like when you have 15 objects in a room animating continously that you may experience a substantial slow down.
----------------------
Someone else may give an idea for the flic animations
-------------------------
I suppose you've checked to see if the "hide player character" tick box is ticked or not in the next room? It shouldn't continue to be invisible if the next room is called, and he should be visible.
-------------
there is a spot in the manual called "Upgrading to AGS 2.7" It is a good read for those who have just updated and need to know the new scripting conventions.

I sure hope not. Although I could understand that happening since making games windows compatible and then just making a port to WinCE (basically just keeping within the windows environment would just be easy).

My zodiac runs on PalmOS and I'd be severly pissed if after all this time, I finally get a pda/game machine and they stop enhancing PalmOS, and companies stop producing for it.

Critics' Lounge / Re: WalkCycle C&C please

Well, its going to need some shading, but i'm not at liberty to do a mockup right now. I'm sure someone will come in and help you out on that one.

Also, you need to shift the arms forward and back some, even though they are in pockets. Pretty much just shift the elbows, and the arms to follow them. I guess walk in front of a mirror and see how it works. You'll see that your right arm will shift forward as your left leg goes forward.

I know this isn't the critics lounge, but there is something about the mushrooms that I just don't care for. Don't get me wrong, you have yourself a spectacular image here, but maybe I just want them to be in silhouette form, or maybe rounder, but all in all, you have yourself a fantastic background and you should be proud.

The Britteneers narrowly avoid this Danger, which would lead to akward moments, and to discussions about abandonment...
