I might say add some elbow pixels to the front and back views. And they eyes and head placements on the side views indicate different things. I would use those for specific things, not just their stop-walk view frame0. Like, if you told her to look up at something to interact with, then go with the image 3.

I would remove, on the side views, the outmost red crotch pixel.

On her front view, her waist seems to be a pixel row lower than on the others.

I really like this character, and definitly get her personality. I really can't wait to see more.

It should totally have the source code to AGS on it, so that everyone may have a copy to keep it going, you know, when the space toilet from Hubble comes hurdling towards an unsuspecting Chris Jones on the day of re-entry.  :=

I would suggest updating your mouse drivers, or if you can, plug in a new mouse and see what happens.

Have you tried playing the Demo Game? Can you move the mouse in that, or in any other ags game?

If you can, then you made a mistake somehow that is screwing up your cursor movements.... not sure what you could have done, but lets get this question answered first.

b)you obviously did not read the forum rules, as you did not have a descriptive topic. they are used for searching forums, and helping people, even after this thread is technically done.

c) way to give us any information at all to help you with your problem.

I would almost lock this, but since it is such an easy solution, (most likely), and if your next post is in a calm and adult manner, we can keep talking.

Now, let us know what exactly your problem is. Did you load a correct sized image into your sprite manager, and then go to your gui and change "Background Image"?

are you definitly sure that your characters starting x and y coordinates are on walkable areas, and that your walkable areas are at least 5 pixels wide?

Things change in the community so much, that an online wikipedia, or the "coming soon" online manual, with user submitted comments and code that follows each of the manual pages, in my opinion would be the best option. I mean, if we had  a book that covered 2.62, it would practically be out of date, and I wouldn't want to be the one that put so much work into something that is now, old. Chris Jones idea is the best, and it will hopefully come soon, now that the newest release is practically done, he'll have time to go to that section of the site.

apparently this demo was widely popular/downloaded, as it has destroyed his service. no pics, not Beginners FAQ. Oh boy... let the flood of questions commence.  ;)

Tuntis: do not quote the whole text of the person above you. understand that we are smart enough to understand what you will be referring to.

There are other game engines out there, ones with more abilites to do a Doom game with, thats why this is Adventure Game Studio. Yes, it may be feasible to create a doom clone, but it requires heavy scripting and time, and for you to just say "Just try to do it somehow" shows that you are just a kid that wants something handed to them. You have to work hard to make a great game. What makes you think that they would reveal the source code once they tackled this master project?


expert noob: you must reduce the size of your signature image to fit with the appropriate standards set by Chris Jones. The dimensions are described where you put the link for your signature in your profile.

oh, if i ran nickelodeon, i would play all the old shows that I grew up on at night, in place of nick at nite, since they already have "TV Land" which is essentially the same. I miss Salute Your Shorts, oh, and I was not knocking Pete and Pete. I remember back before it became a show, and they did 30 second shorts between different shows. Good times.

well, I think calling it "the nazi version" is a bit too much. That, to me, sounds like just advancement of nazism, which, I'm sure everyone here doesn't want a part of.

I could understand that Bernard would read a history book about Nazis, and could have a dream about it, but you will definitly need to expand upon that a whole lot more, as in what will the characters get from experiencing this "dream", before we can give you any ideas on what kind of puzzles to make.

Seriously, did you do anything yet on this, other than just think randomly?Ã,  Let's take Bernard, and um.... hey, I know.. lets throw in some Nazis!@ Cause that has everything to do with Maniac Mansion.

To me, its really random, and unneeded, plus, I know I won't play a game that even makes Nazis look good,( not saying that is what you were planning on) To me, it just doesnt fit in with the MM universe, even if a dream.

yeah, you shouldnt have wires for seat cushions.. heh.  and also, if you can see through the windows, then you will need to show the counter and such.

are you sure you just wouldnt rather have shadows kinda showing through the window? it'd be much easier.   ;)

for the grass, go ahead and make it like turf. a couple pixels high to start, and then make the extra mismatched blades.

and to have the mountains like that, is a bit odd... to have it like that, the area would have to be very curved, so much as to say that you could see the horizon like that. If you cover up the right side, and you can get a good feeling as to your point of view. You are looking pretty much downward, and then to add the horizon there, it just doesn't seem realistic... It is possible, but not normally.

The sidewalk may have too much "noise" going on, maybe tone it down to just 2-3 colors, and take out the blackish one.

the shading on the top is nice, but again, not correct, with the sun, and on that note, you can just remove the sun altogether.  you can keep the shading on the sides though, and for the top, i'd try the second from the right for the whole top.

Id probably thicken up the door frame, too.

I don't want you to think that with all this crits, that its a bad picture. On the contrary, its a great pic. I love all the details that you've already put in.
and I love the blue cup.

yeah... some of those were pretty good. like the girl turing into a doll...  :o   but when dg brought up the interweb police, all i could think about was those blue lights with the really weird siren. and yeah, i made prank calls too, and this would always come to my mind.   

it was a nickelodeon conspiracy.

you REALLY need to do a searching of the forums before posting. and yes, you should also get to know the proper placement of questions in this forum.
