Hey guys,

Powered By Lua(tm)

About damn time someone does something like this.

Also Mother 3> Earthbound> Chrono Trigger

Planescape Torment is a game I'm in the process of, and then I'll probably move on to Secret of Evermore, Terranigma, and FF6.

I just want to make a note that I appreciate all critique of the website- I will definitely take all issues into account and continue to streamline it. I'm pretty new to html, css, and javascript, so please let me know (through PM) of any bugs and issues you find. I already have a list of a few, and I will work to make the site better and easier to use.

Eventually, I will also update it to add more information about some in-game mechanics to expect and such.

As far as selling the game...I'm still in consideration mode on that. Even if I do, it'll be very VERY cheap. I really want as many people to be able to play the game as I can get, but I'm also working on making it as professional of a game as I can for a first title, without going overboard.

Caslon's not in the game. And even so, does LucasArts really own it? I guess I doubted that since I found it on basically any free font website.

It's up.

That's a fair criticism, but the line here is pretty thin. I have a hard time not thinking the game is so cliche it's on purpose, with it's liberal use of things like secret passages, tombs, cemeteries, hedge mazes, plantations, and spooky swamps. The game does indeed have its slasher moments, but I think that comes more from the fact that it is an homage as well to things like Psycho. And some slasher stories, such as Dario Argento's Phenomena, can also be murder mysteries.

Is TCB a good mystery, or an original one? Eh, no, but it is fun, and in terms of mechanics, I wish more adventure games in the mystery or horror genres had followed it. I still need to give Laura Bow 2 a shot.

Cons? What cons? The idea behind the game was to play through a typical murder mystery on the PC. It was an extension, if you will, of Mystery House. I don't really see the cons as cons. The only complaint I might have about the game is the exploitation of a mentally challenged person as the "bad guy".

Full website coming soon. Stay tuned.

More people in this topic need to watch some Louis CK.

I can't find a flaw in that artwork. Good show.

Nope, it's stuck on this:

It won't let me proceed unless I do this.

Is there any way to pay for this with PayPal without linking my credit card to my account (as I don't have a credit card but I have PayPal).

While I find the story of the manga interesting, I have too many ideas of my own for games to want to adapt anything. Well, except maybe....for MacGyver, but I'd still put my own ideas first.

Full cast of mythical breasts...I mean beasts, eh.

He's an obvious and rather necessary play on Voorhees, Myers, the Welder, and all such invincible killers. References: the game is going to be full of them, but I'm not going to ruin the surprises.

Don't praise me too much, I'm average at best!

With the greatest respect, -bleep- you and your modesty. You're one of the best background artists and one of the most promising developers I've seen on these forums in the eight years I've been here.

I think it's a wonderful idea. This is the sort of thinking I want to see more of from AGS. It feels like most people don't REALLY think about the potential the engine has.

Pen and paper RPGs typically always have a wide variety of characters like this because they only have to rely on what's written on the page. I think more adventure games should take cues from them. Take the roles in Cyberpunk 2020.

Cop-   Maximum lawmen on mean 21st century streets-   Special ability: Authority
Corporate-   Slick business raiders and multi-millionaires-   Special ability: Resources
Fixer-   Deal makers, smugglers, organizers and information brokers-   Special ability: Streetdeal
Media-   Newsmen and reporters who go to the wall for the truth-   Special ability: Credibility
Netrunner-   Cybernetic computer hackers-   Special ability: Interface
Nomad-   Road warriors and Gypsies who roam the highways-   Special ability: Family
Rockerboy-   Rebel rockers who use music and revolt to fight authority-   Special ability: Charismatic Leadership
Solo-   Hired assassins, bodyguards, killers, soldiers-   Special ability: Combat Sense
Techie-   Renegade mechanics and doctors-   Special ability: Jury Rig/Medical Tech

Quest For Glory is a great example of how gameplay can change in an adventure game depending - and I'm sure a few text adventures did it- not sure though. I wonder how in depth it could go though.

It's funny you would mention that, because Earthbound and Mother 3 were both big influences on this game in tone and style.

At first I had no idea what that screenshot was, as I kept thinking "Snow? I don't remember any snow in Raiders!" and then it dawned on me and I was like "Ohhhh, yeah....damn this is actually happening!"  ;D
