I will say  that this blitz has not gone unnoticed, by me.  I have just,..err,...,well,...never played a commercial adventure game beyond Myst.   :-[

Odin, with Hugin, and Munin.

Ok, looks like only 2 votes (but we'll take all of the accolades from the earlier posts too), and declare.... Mr. Dnuma the winner.

Congratulations everyone.  No, really, I know it sounds cliche, but when the prize is, well, more work, then, why not?

Take it away, Neil....

... Really, who wants to compete with THAT?

I mean come on, one outstanding entry (really, I mean it) and the entire community is ready to concede victory?  Where is our sense of one-upsmanship, the all-too-human ability to rip apart that which is better, an irrational spout of denial??? Hmmmm???

But, seriously, Why do any of us insist upon competition, even in the face of daunting opposition?  To get better of course...

I'm just glad that I could provide a subject that has, so far, provoked such a response.  9 days left so keep 'em coming.....

Not as clean as I would like, but I'm going cross-eyed looking at him...

Just to do my best at staying topical I am going to:

Theme:  backgrounds that  feature a studio, work room, or office-type, space that a typical ATC team might use, were they locked in a room, together, for the duration of 'that' contest.

Resolution/Color:  No restrictions, as long as it's AGS compatible

On your mark....

....Get set....

....Wait for it....

Thank you.   A new post will be up shortly.

Well, I'm truly overwhelmed.  Thank you, thank you, and thank you again.

Personally I vote for Scuthbert.  I about fell out of my chair when I noticed the 'Stair master', after about the 10th time of looking at it.

I see your point, but wasn't going for carpet.  I was trying to get a brushed concrete feel, but couldn't find a texture combo that worked well, obviously.

Ozwalled:  I love the water effects, and the BenGay, but what is the story behind the nail-in-the-board?  My wife and I spent 20 minutes coming up with goofy scenerios that it would fit in.

I hail from the SW Finger Lakes region of New York state (USA).   Just for reference; it's about 285 miles (458 km) to New York City.

Welcome, dude! I'm from Syracuse... not TOO far away from ya. I'm very familiar with the Finger Lakes.

I'm exactly 100 miles from the corner of Thompson and Erie.  Nearest city to me is Corning.  My company has an office near Carrier circle.  Thanks for the welcome.

To shut off the MSN options in Outlook, goto Tools-> Options -> Other [Tab].  Uncheck the Instant Messaging Radio button at the bottom the the dialog to disable.  Otherwise you will always have issues with Outlook when MSN is down.

Hello to all.  Been lurking for a couple of years now, reading, getting to know the atmosphere.  Well, I broke the ice yesterday, in the Competition forum (couldn't resist the BGBlitz), and am now ready to start sharing.  Probably best with stories, dialogs, and artwork (to some degree).  Won't know about the scripting/programming until I get into it, and I WILL be getting into it,  soon.

I hail from the SW Finger Lakes region of New York state (USA).   Just for reference; it's about 285 miles (458 km) to New York City.  I'm a full-time systems analyst for a courier company but my regular job includes computer field tech work, Access development, and web design.  Married (once, and for good), two daughters, one dog, one cat, and a mortgage.  I'm old enough to remember 'Watergate', Apollo 13 (the original incident) and the Monkees, young enough to enjoy the 80, or so, AGS games I've played.

That's enough (more than???)  for an introduction.

Lurking?  Possibly.  Sitting, reading, learning.  Definately.

And yes, this particular competition caught my attention.  Your challange sat in the back of my head, and fermented into the piece I've posted.  I'm a little suprised there's not more of a response, half-way through the alotted time.  This forum just has to be jam-packed with vintage comic readers.

My very first post (after a couple of years of reading), so here goes nothing...
