Meet Mys-Tick, the in game hint system. She lives on your head and if you speak to her will read your fortune and give you a tip on what to do next. But you have to give her a little bit of your delicious mammalian blood first!

Her name is mys-tick, he meets her in a fortune tellers tent and she reads his fortune in exchange for his delicious mammalian blood. I think i'll do a minigame to do with feeding her some blood for hints.

i think in my game the main charater is going to have a flea living on him that can whisper hints into his ear if needed.

I have 4 pugs, and this seems absolutely the game for me. You have completely understood the 'smart' expression of these dogs (which I do not consider dogs, in fact they are a breed that has little in common with dogs). Great idea :)

After having played a lot of dramatic style games lately, I'm really looking forward to playing something wacky like this one looks...

Oh....and your artwork is stunning!

thanks guys, i'll try not to disapoint. Todays update: Alleybat.

Hi everyone, I am in the midst of developing an AGS title and have been playing some adventure games for reference and inspiration and wondered what your opinions were on in game help systems which prevent needing to goto external websites if really stuck.

back in the classic days you'd have to rely on magazine walkthroughs but ive played a few recently that give you the option for help whenever its needed (the immediate example that comes to mind is Machinarium which makes you play a little minigame each time you want a hint.)

so whats your opinion on this matter? include them so more casual players have a more enjoyable experience? or leave them out to encourage exploration and trying out different things?

Are these in game graphics?  I see no characters, no GUIs, no cursors...

I wanted to post the backgrounds without clutter but you're right I shouldve posted in game screens. I'll replace them with in game screens within a day or two.

Thanks for the interest everyone!

My protagonist is a pug called Kirk.

You realise that you have me hoping for multiple cheesy Star Trek jokes in your game now?!?! :P

Haha not quite! There might be a reference here and there but its not really that kind of game. I am a massive ST fan tho, so I wouldnt be surprised.

Hi everyone! After planning an adventure game for a while and originally planning on coding it myself I came across AGS on an article about "Time Gentlemen, please!" very recently. Im quite surprised that AGS flew under my radar for so long as im very familar with the different languages / game making programs that are out there.

im in the final stages of planning my first adventure game called "A Pug's Life" and I look forward to sharing more details of it with you in the months ahead.
