Karja:

Spoiler

First you have to try to catch the skeletal rat without a trap, so that you realize that you even need a trap
[close]

Wow...I would never have guessed that. Glad Leon was here to help.

Spoiler

The truth is that I probably spent about 45 minutes trying to catch the rats in the junkyard till Leon told me that I need to get the skeletal rat. I'm guessing that the rats in the junkyard are supposed to throw you off?

Thanks for the tip, Leon!

Spoiler
I spoke to the guy in the booth many times before i asked and didn't have the option of asking how to catch rats. It worked this time and I'm at the next part of the game

Thanks for playing the game.  :)

In the cave:

Spoiler
After you've tied the plants to the rocks you have created a part of a trap. Search around and you can find something dangerous someone can fall on after tripping on the plants.

Spoiler
Then remove the darkness with something you have that can create light and then crawl through.

Stables - Wolverboggs:

Spoiler
When you have to club the wolverboggs. Go and talk to Valkyria that you're supposed to protect. That is all.
[close]

Thanks. That's what I needed to finish the game.

Spoiler
Actually, I figured out how to set the trap but I didn't know how to leave the cave.
[close]

I did finish the game but:

Spoiler
I didn't figure out how to kill the rabbit. Did I miss part of the game because of the rabbit? I was able to defeat Stiltskin anyway

Thanks

I got pretty far in this game but I'm stuck in two parts:

Spoiler

- I fell into the trap and now I'm in the cave. I tied the plant to the rocks. Now what?
- Sticky Tom wants me to club wolveroggs. Where are they and where's the club?

Thanks

EXCELLENT game!

The graphics are a huge improvement over the first game. The puzzles were a bit easy but not too easy as to take away from the game. The atmosphere was perfect.

Congrats

...get stuck when trying to kill the vampire. I have a crowbar, a knife, a watch, a diary and a book.

I'm stuck at the same place. I wonder if anyone else has a solution or knows of a walkthrough.

My comments:

Another outstanding game. The immersion factor is 100% because of the graphics, sprites and music. I've never experienced such good voice acting; I usually switch it off. In this game, it just takes the game up to the next level.

The puzzles are simple. So simple that the game is almost like watching a movie where you have to click "next" to get to the next scene but having puzzles slow you down just makes it a bit more interactive. The only puzzle I spent some time on was the birds. Perhaps the hardest puzzle should be the last puzzle of the game rather than the first puzzle that launches the story.

This is not a criticism, merely an observation. If you're expecting a King's Quest-style adventure, this isn't it :) This is a very thought-provoking, moving and interactive experience rather than an adventure game. I have to disagree with the people who suggest that the brief explanation of the different rooms that comes at the end somehow diminishes the game. My opinion is that it ties everything together and shows you more about what game is about. I, for one, would not have picked up on this.

Lastly, I'm wondering if there was an actual event that led to the theme behind the game? Did someone who authored the story experience a loss similar to what is depicted in the game that had to be dealt with emotionally?

Thanks for another gem of a game!

Cheers

One other comment about the graphics:

I don't know where they came from but they seem inconsistent at times. The shovel in the shed looks like it must be 10 feet tall. The toy box looks like it's completely from another set of graphics. The same with the flowers around the border of one of the rooms.

The puzzle with the gardener:

Spoiler
Try using the garlic. I have to admit to laughing when that worked.

I have to agree with the other posters here. I have no idea what that item is that I found in the maze is so it's hard to guess what to do with it (I did figure it out eventually). Ditto for most items in the game. I didn't realize that I had to use the arrow buttons to move the character around so I was one step away from giving up.

I gave up when
Spoiler
I got to the guy held hostage by the alien

.

People commented on the music but I can't get any music or sound from this game.

The game has potential. Hopefully it will be released with a more playable version.

Ok, I finished with 82 points!

Spoiler
I just realized that you have to give the bowl back BEFORE you go back to the prospector; right after creating the moonshine. My first time around, I actually used the bowl in the Sea for the silver component

Other than my earlier small points, I give the game five stars!

Ok, never mind...I figured this out.

Spoiler
You use the MOLOTOV COCKTAIL on the gasoline spill??? I got that by guessing...there's no matches or something but somehow the molotov cocktail catches on fire but not the gasoline without it...whatever...

Thanks for the tip!

Spoiler
That gets you out of the warehouse? Frank just walks on some undefined path and every time he hits some area he say that he has to spill the gasoline. There must be some secret path back through the boxes to get out of the warehouse.

I don't remember quite well, but I think you have to light the gasoline

Response:
Spoiler
How do you light the gasoline? I don't have matches or a lighter or anything. I had this same problem with the fuse because the "graphic" in the inventory was just a straight line and the hotspots for clicking inventory items are all messed up so there's no way to know what a line is supposed to be

I am finding that the game is very awkward to play because of simple stuff.

Spoiler
How do you get out of the warehouse? Once you tip the gasoline drum, you just wander and wander and the controls are impossible to use. Every time you hit a certain hot spot it says that it wants to tip the gas again. How do you get out?

I hope that you debug the game and rerelease it because it's a fun idea and the map-interface is really cool. It has potential but needs serious fixing.

Maybe try that walkthru - or did they completly alter the game in the deLuxe version.

Not completely different but the main puzzles are different enough that the walkthrough won't cover this.

Spoiler
To be honest, the one part of the game that got me stumped was getting the boy out of the tub. It didn't dawn on me to hand him over the prospector's car keys until I got desperate! Since I've lost one point, I'm sure there's a better way to do it.

I'm having trouble getting that last point!

Spoiler
I came back with the silver bowl intact but the prospector asks for his keys back! There must be another way to get Aqua lad out of the tub other than handing over the keys

An excellent remake! I'm a Ben Jordan fan so I couldn't miss this one.

Here are my comments:

- I don't know if anyone else had this but I had to fiddle with the settings to get the game to run on my computer. I've never had this with an AGS game.

- The puzzles were just hard enough to keep me thinking but not hard enough to frustrate or make me want to stop the game. That's probably the most important way I'd rate a game.

Spoiler
- I thought the song-writing puzzle was brilliant. I've never seen anything like that in AGS and that type of originality makes the series stand out from the crowd.
- I hope I'm not being overly critical, but I think that proportionately, the moonshine quest occupies too much of the game. I think that almost half the points in the game are earned before going to Bombay Beach but if you consider that the moonshine quest is really peripheral to the main theme, I'd recommend either extending the essential quests (perhaps while on the ship there should be some items to collect before releasing George or capturing the ghost) or minimizing the moonshine quest.
- The way that elements from earlier in the game are used or tie into later parts of the game (such as the coffee and moonshine) show some really good planning that enhances the game
- I don't know if this is a bug but when you finish the Bombay Beach quests, they remain on your to-do list.

I could go on about how much I enjoyed the game but this will suffice.

Many thanks for an outstanding series.

The game took one hour to finish. My comments:

Overall, a great game. The mood-settings such and graphics, text and music are excellent for the type of game it's intended to be. The graphics could be sharpened up a bit - they are somewhat plain.

One area I would suggest improving is that there's not enough storyline in the game. Essentially, the game consists of different scenarios where you have to do some tasks to move to the next scenario with little plot connecting them.

Thanks for the game! :)
