Do you mean that I play AGS games for free rather than buying commercial games...?
If that's the case, good on you, I've spent way too much money on games over the years! But was just a little joke about how active you are on the site. Thanks again.  ;)

Well, I'll take it all as a compliment  :-D Cheers

Cheers Shadow! These comments really mean a lot to me.

I swear you must review every single AGS game ever, you must save a lot of money on gaming.  (laugh)

LOL actually, no! Just the ones I enjoyed playing. I think I got the comment about saving money: Do you mean that I play AGS games for free rather than buying commercial games...?

Fun game! Good adaptation of the theme. Good graphics, effects and animation. Enjoyable puzzles and story. I have to confess to trying to suppress a few laughs and failing to do so. Overall, good job!

I played the first maze (Pieter's Maze) and it was a lot of fun! Really well done and polished graphics and gameplay. It took most of the night to get the song out of my head  ;)
Thank you! You mention "CRASH!" in your comment, did you mean the character goes poof, or the game crashes? If the latter, please tell me what message you get? I've been unable to reproduce it so far.

Sorry for not being more clear! I just means the character suffers death and has to start from the previous checkpoint. He also suffers hearing me utter every foul word in the English language, as I did throughout the game. I hope he's not sensitive to this type of thing.

That was fun! Nice graphics/animations and sound. Nice, creative puzzles. It took about 10 minutes to solve. Great first game.

Some thoughts about the gameplay:
Spoiler

- I actually wasn't sure about the objective of the game. I had assumed that it was to explore 100% of the maze, getting as much treasure as possible but when I had about 73% completed, I hit the big treasure that danced around the screen and it SEEMS that the game was won. I went back to continue the game till I got 100% of the maze and nothing really happened so I think the goal is to find the big treasure. However, that feels a bit unintuitive to play a game that can be won at any random time without having completed a certain amount.

- At first, I thought that keys would open locks, so as soon as I got my first key, I headed for the first lock and CRASH! It took till MUCH later till I understood how that works. I won't say more detail but it seems that discovering the gameplay is a part of the game.

So, this is a really fun and well-designed game that takes a bit of time to get used to but after that, it's addictive. Well done!

I actually played the games as soon as they came out. The reason I haven't posted my comments until now is that I am STILL undecided as to the vote! I'll explain why.

Spoiler
Both games had decent graphics. Both games had voice acting. Both games hit the theme spot-on rather than as a forced element in the game just to meet the requirements. However, New Kid had more puzzles and things to do whereas Thyrmly Disguised had one really good puzzle and one arcade sequence and the rest basically watching.

As much as I said that the graphics were decent, Thyrmly disguised has graphics that are so superior that I have to give it extra points. To be sure, we all know that anything designed by Blondbraid is going to crush anything else graphically! In addition, I absolutely LOVED the cat lock puzzle! I loved how at first I was thinking WTF! and as soon as I picked up what was going on, I was able to solve it. Really well done. As I said, New Kid had a lot of decent puzzles. I did not find them difficult or unreasonable but nothing as outstanding as the cat puzzle.

I am still undecided because as I said, I usually go by which game I enjoyed most overall. In this case, it is SO close that I may or may not even arrive at a conclusion by the voting deadline!

Nobody else completed the game?

I'd love to give it another spin if it has the ability to save progress!

My comments are similar to SarahLiz:

- I found the interface difficult to use, especially at the beginning
- I was able to get through the puzzles on my own at the beginning of the game but I found myself doing the old "mouse over paint" to find otherwise not-very-visible hotspots
- I found the flow to be all over the place and hard to follow at times.
- Like SarahLiz, I needed to watch the walkthrough for a few of the puzzles that honestly, I would never have solved on my own.

Overall, it was fun and playable and a decent experience.

I have a full deloreon radar (useless, the deloron is far away) and found an underwater chest but the fishing shop is closed (where I guess I would get something to fish out the chest). Also the busstop does nothing...
what do I do now?

Did you find the

?

If not,

it's under one of the beach chairs

I'm finding this game to not be difficult in terms of puzzles, but I am finding myself solving things by scraping the mouse cursor over every spot of every room because the hotspots are hard to see visually.

Same here. I tried resequencing the DMY, using 4 digits for the year, just the month and day, no luck.
Gotcha!  8-)
Spoiler
It's just 6 digits

Thanks and you're welcome! I finished the game  :-D

I actually solved the dial puzzle and continued but got stuck shortly after....(I'm happy to answer if you need hints about it)
Thanks Shadow, but I was able to solve it myself
I am in Poland right now. Just having a bit trouble about in wich way I need to type a special date.
I googled the different ways of how a date is to be written international but found several versions possible - so far none of them worked   (wtf)

I'm in middle of playing as well. I am REALLY enjoying it. Puzzles are AWESOME (I do agree with Tabata that the microwave was a bit drawn out). I actually used my phone camera for that as well as the "coloured number dots" puzzle so it wasn't too bad.

To be fair, I re-used Starbuck from my previous game... only had to render a new speech animation for him (which turned out to be harder that it sounds  (roll)) since in the previous game he had portrait speech.  ;)

But I'm glad you enjoyed it.  :-D

Ok what about the other characters and backgrounds? (I was mainly referring to the beautiful 3D backgrounds)

I forgot to add that the use of playing multiple characters was a nice bonus to me!

Looks like I'm the first to comment on the three entries!

Here I go....

Alice in Maniacland by Dog Rat
Spoiler
Crossing Alice with Manic Mansion is BRILLIANT! I loved the puzzles and really enjoyed the graphics. I liked how the puzzles revolved around the character's ability to change her size. Multiple endings is a nice bonus for a MAGS game. My only downside to this game is that there is essentially one task that SHOULD be the beginning  of the game but it really is the end :( I played all the endings and they really are abrupt, even with the time constraints of a MAGS entry

Space Cross: The BSG Team by Cassiebsg
Spoiler
AWESOME graphics and I think they are new for this game rather than reused from a previous game? With Cassie, you can expect that one of the themes in the crossover will be BSG :) I am not going to mention what it's crossed with just in case someone's reading this without playing the game first, BUT I will say that I had a LOT of laughs from the game and was not expecting that! Puzzles were on the simple side so the strength of this game is the graphics and the idea of the themes being crossed as well as the humour

I feel that it was the most well-rounded from beginning to end and my overall enjoyment playing the game was with this entry.

Well done!

Umm...what if we just say that the first puzzle of the Alice game is getting it running?  :-D

Well, there are people that have downloaded an unpacked it. Maybe my winrar just got too old and you are raring it with a newer version that is incompatible or something like that.
It's not the 1st time I have had problems with rar files. Last time was Slasher's game.

I use 7Zip. It's free and works great with RAR files. I didn't have a problem unpacking Alice.

Fun little game! I also got stuck in the same room as Crimson Wizard and had to reset a few times. Good concept!
