I finally managed to finish the game after that, though! :-D It's a really great game, so many funny moments, and the graphics are fantastic! It's just a shame about the crashes!

How did you get past this point without crashing? I finished all the other games and I really want to finish this one so I can get on with posting my comments and voting. Thank you!

#682
I got the crash three times so there must be a way to trigger it :)

Arrrggghhh! I was really enjoying the game and then it crashed :(

Spoiler
when you use the item intended to unscrew the yoke and the bell falls, the game ends

I really hope there's a solution!

Bustin' The Bastille:
Spoiler

CHARMING!!! I got as far as to:

Spoiler
...sew the white flag into the middle of the current French flag to make the current one (VERY FUNNY *AND* OFFENSIVE...LOVE IT!!!), but could get no further... I feel like I have to attach the flag to the broom to wave it around and rally the crowd, but it just doesn't happen no matter how many interactions I try... If this is a game-breaking bug then please let me know...If not, then just tell me so and no hints because I want to solve it if it's not a bug...

Nope. Not game breaking. I finished the game and absolutely loved every minute of it.

Thanks! Even though there actually was a hint to this effect in the boy's room upstairs, I don't think I would have ever figured it out on my own.

I can tell you that using any item while sitting down is not the solution, at least.

Well, what I was thinking is
Spoiler
that you want to get the bar owner to sit on the rotten stool. But you can't move any of the stools while he's out because he hears you. I am guessing that you have to muffle the sounds of moving the stools or something but I don't see any way to do that, so I moved on to playing the other games from the competition :)

I'm having the same crash. But is anyone sure that it's necessary to do that to solve the puzzle? I actually don't know the solution myself but if it can be solved another way then it's not a game-breaker.

Soooo apparently having players wander around aimlessly until I tell them "Oh yeah, this is as far as I got with programming..." is not a very good way to get people to enjoy your game! I've added a little "To be continued..." pop-up in place of the missing ending and fixed some game breaking bugs that people have found. I hope that's alright!

Congratulations to everyone for getting in these amazing looking games!

Hmm...I got as far as:
Spoiler
Agnes tells you that Christopher is missing and then I got Gilda off the car roof. I wandered around to no avail and then somehow got stuck in front of the food truck area. In addition, a bit earlier someone told me that the food truck lady wanted to speak to me but there's no added dialogue. When I realized that I can't move the character out of the area and there's no new dialogues, I tried saving the game to come back to it but there's no save, apparently? I ended up turning the game off at this point.

Is that where the game ends or did I miss something?

Edit:
Spoiler
I now see that the original post says that this is the end of the game. I hadn't noticed that before playing

I have certainly enjoyed this one, wonderful puzzles! And the always amusing comments ;) I was hoping to make it through on my own but it seems I am stumped near the end. I'm stuck with one shell remaining. Everything else is checked off :)
Spoiler
It's the shell on the sign above the shell shop. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it :/

use the ladder. I think there should be a bit of a tip such as "I can't reach". I had the same problem

@Shadow. The game is still in Debug-Mode. Just use ctrl+x to jump to an earlier room. I had the same problem with the right side of the trench ways where Harry is.

I just tried that. Once you teleport to another room you can no longer walk.

There is a broken rifle in the room to the far left where the wounded people are. You can use it as a mop handle and then use that on the water barrel

Thanks for the tip. I wonder how the testing was conducted before release.

I just finished playing this latest Slasher classic. Lots of fast-paced fun, never frustrating, always just a matter of finding the right tool for the job!

Cheers

My comments after finishing the game:

Overall, I absolutely loved playing this game. In many aspects it's everything a point and click adventure should be. The graphics and effects are very polished. Probably the strongest point is the puzzles. There is a wonderful balance and variety of well-designed puzzles ranging from some classics to some creative twists. The difficulty level is excellent. I found myself only needing to resort to help very few times compared to the huge number of puzzles in the game.

The size of the game in terms of number of rooms is very good. I found that there are enough rooms that you get to enjoy some exploring (which I happen to like) yet not so many that you feel lost. The map used for navigating is a nice touch.

The only point I would suggest changing:
Spoiler
Although there is a plot in the game, there is too much of the game spent on a complete-the-checklist quest without the plot developing. I like to see plot development paced with progress in the game. The puzzles were strong enough to outweigh this but it might be something to consider

Some small points:
- AS I pointed out in the past games, you mean "could have", "should have" rather than "could/should of".
- You may want to post a warning in the download page or announcement stating that the game contains sexual references and jokes that may not be suited for younger players.

Just some things to consider!

Otherwise, the game is an outstanding job, worthy of joining the other titles you released.

Well done!

I hit what seems to be a dead end. When you speak to Captain Barnes you can't leave the room. It says that you should find out what happened to Harry when you try and then you can keep talking to Barnes over and over but you can't leave the room.

After playing and making a lot of progress, I am finally stuck

Spoiler

- Where do I get a gear to fix the machine?
- What do I give to the lion? There's not much in terms of hints to go by.
- The pineapple plants are "light". How do I make them grow pineapples?

Thank you

Spoiler
1. The gear is on the fifth level of the hotel right by the elevator
2 & 3. The lion needs courage to be strong again...liquid courage that is.  Go back to the tiki bar and look at the board.

Thank you! I finished the game with your help. I'll comment when I have a chance but this game is AWESOME!

Outstanding game. Very attractive art. Great adaptation of the Rescue theme.

To me the best part was the well-designed puzzles. It's amazing what you can do in a short game done with time contraints.

The two-playable characters just adds to the overall polish of the game.

Cheers

Ah, a new one after The Treasured Medallion :)

...not to mention Echoes of the Past and Tarthenia, both awesome games. The art style is different but looks gorgeous and polished nonetheless. I can't wait to play...

Is there a way to save this game? There is a load option but I don't see save anywhere, and pressing F5 doesn't do anything.

I just finished playing this game. I enjoyed the experience thoroughly.

I don't know if this is the intention but this really reminds me of games I played on the Apple ][ back in the mid 80s. I am absolutely amazed at the artistic skill of imposing an immersive environment using nothing but white pixels! Complete with animation in some areas and everything! HOW do you convert some white dotted lines into a toilet....?

As far as the storyline: exactly what you would have expected in the genre. Nothing groundbreaking but a good enough plot to pull the player along as the story unfolds.

I have to mention that I really like games where there is a lot of rooms to explore. This one definitely qualifies.

The puzzles were set at a very good difficulty level. I found many of them to be slightly challenging but I did manage to complete the game with only two from the forum. I sent the author my opinion of one of them and why I did not think of the solution but either way, considering the length of the game one or 2 puzzles that need help is not unreasonable.

Overall, I strongly recommend playing this game.
